I'm sick of the deluded idiots that inhabit this MB. They want their team to LOSE in an attempt to remove a manager who clearly has the FULL support of the players. This is complete madness!!!Kean's team have just beaten a Newcastle team flying without a defeat this season and on Sunday were widely acknowledged as unlucky not to get something from another leading team. The national critics are correct that the fans are like a little kid throwing the toys out its pram because they're not getting what they want. In any case these misguided idiots should be careful for what they wish for. I expect these self-same people expect Hughes or O'Neill to take the vacancy. No chance and it's time to wake up and smell the coffee. VNKYS IF YOU ARE LISTENING -STICK WITH KEAN!!

Do you really think that those who want Kean out are making judgements on one or two games?

Keans whole record at rovers is bad. That in itself supports those who want him out.

I accept the players are trying. But they should do, their paid enough.

I strongly disagree with Allancd but he/she is entitled to his/her views and that has to be respected.

Rovers haven't had a clean sheet since April? And they are conceding by the looks of it on average 2 goals per game. Even the odd time Kean was picking up points last season we didn't get many clean sheets.

How can Rovers survive knowing that if current defensive issues continue (nothing seen to suggest anything will change on that front) that we have to score 3 goals per game to get wins. This is the Premier League, even the top sides in the league don't score 3 goals every week.

It wouldn't surprise me if this win tonight sees Kean stay until January, and going off the form shown during his tenure Rovers will be relegated by then.

In the early 70's (73?).

drew up there (1-1?) then won at Ewood in a midweek afternoon match (3-0?), the 3-day week was on.

Thanks JohnD, before my time but l'm struggling to find out why the OP would mention this?

Well unfortunately although I said summarise, they are all pretty much direct quotes from the interview, nice how he ignores the two games in between that we conceded after 15 mins in.

he really needs banning from doing interviews. I despise the way he clings onto the slightest thing and try's to twist it into something exceptional like we are gullible to believe its a massive positive.

Simple, we won't.

Felt nothing in regards to tonight's score. Contrast that to a couple of years back when we played Chelsea in the carling cup and beat them... I was shaking like a leaf when it got to extra time/pens.

Venky's and Kean have taken the enjoyment out of supporting the club I love... unforgivable.

Well that match tested the patience of saints let alone fans.

Unbelievable finish but when Kean had taken off both goal scorers, I was very worried who might take pens.

Carlsberg don't do football matches but if they did they'd do that one.

All I can say is, if they aren't laying for Kean, then there must be some serious team spirit on spite of him. The celebrations when they mobbed Givet said it all.

I still can't stand the arrogant, delusional S.O.B. but if you go to football matches to be entertained and thrilled like nothing else it happened at Ewood tonight. Even if it was about like an away game from where I was sat.

Oh, and I possibly hate Newcastle fans more than Kean (this evening at least).

Apologies if I'm rambling - still on a bit of a high!!

well said pal just got back from the game amazing thats the first time newcastle have been beat this season ,for all those rovers supporters who couldnt be arsed to go tonite shame on u a sad turnout but for all those who did i salute u so funny at the end of the game and the blackeyed peas tune came on and to nights goin be a good nite

I was very proud of our lads fight tonight. Pederson played well. Petrovic brain seem to take an eternity to react to situations.

Our problem was not closing people down - but kean himself was bollocking players for this.

The first game ive seen that we had a good shape. The newcastle fans and the ref could have given me a heary attack!

BBC:

Chris McKenna reports: "Gael Givet's late extra-time header ends a dramatic night at Ewood Park as Blackburn scrape into the quarter-finals for the fourth time in five seasons with a 4-3 win. What will Steve Kean's critics make of that?"

Tell you what I make of that: "SO WHAT?"

I'm preparing for the minuses but I'm gutted there was a crowd of ten thousand it should have been Newcastle fans only. A big nail in our coffin that result.

Given that it's not looking like he's going anywhere, lose, lose, or lose, I'm looking at it as tent-pole number two in the Big Top above our circus of a season. (Maybe I'll feel differently when the adrenaline wears off).

Kean is obviously the clown. The identity of the ring master is still not confirmed though.

Just got back from an enthralling second half and extra time.

Main observations:

Just under 6,000 Rovers' fans in a crowd if just under 11,000 - speaks volumes about what is going on.

I hope Kean never mentions luck again - Newcastle had TWO stonewall penalties turned down in 2nd half and from the 2nd one, Rovers went straight down and got a penalty that some refs give and some don't.

Newcastle spurned about 5 glorious chances in addition to rattling the post.

Reminiscent of Arsenal match.

Having said that, Rovers showed great commitment and, as against Spurs, looked a decent unit in the first 60 minutes, pressing high up the field and restricting space. The Clements' effect ?

Plus points: Givet (better centre back than Dann) and Rochina (very good first half and has to start).

Negatives: Petro and Goodwillie look very, very poor signings. Both are cart horses.

Most nauseating point: a very small number of fans hugging Kean in JW lower after the match - I wonder if they were paid to do that ???????????????

Oh, judgments made on just one or two games? Er... Everton, Fulham, Arsenal, QPR, Spurs and now Newcastle. Of course there have been poor performances particularly in the early matches with a patched up defence. But even the big-spending teams don't show up every week. And comments like "players are paid to play" completely miss the point that players DON'T play for a manager they don't rate.
