Not sure what all of the name calling is all about. Kean really has divided the fanbase - probably irreparably. Even if he goes on a 10 game winning streak, his attitude and deluded outlook has ensured he is hated on a personal level. It wasn't this bad under Ince!

I thought long and hard about not going last night but in the end it was my lad who reminded me: "Dad, we're good Rovers fans, we can't just stop going because we don't like Kean". Perhaps he doesn't understand the bigger picture, or maybe it's me. I go to Rovers matches to experience emotions I don't get from going anywhere else. I got my money's worth last night.

How much of the result was down to Kean, I'm not sure, his substitutions invited pressure we could have done without and we had no penalty takers.

I honestly think the players like him but a tactician he ain't. Maybe that will come with experience and maybe we'll benefit from that. On balance though I'd say relegation appears more likely. If Hughes, MON or equivalent was up for coming here, I'd drive them here myself. But they aren't, are they?

As for 'tremblers', I'd rather tremble with passion than sit statuesque and mute. I went through every emotion last night and probably made a fool of myself but I don't care. Last night, sat within gesticulating distance from the pompous, gobby Geordies, I didn't want anything else but a Rovers win.

:brfc:

Good post +1 also for the use of the word ''gesticulating''

Have you always been like this Ewood Spark? Or is it a Pune thing?

The 'tremblers' have been behind the team the whole way and feel that a change of manager would improve our horrendous points tally.

If you don't believe that Kean is the wrong man then that's your perogative and I hope you're right because let's face it, he ain't getting the sack anytime soon.

And as for tonight being for 'proper' fans, I looked around and saw the usual hardy bunch of Carling Cup fans, a Kean love fest? By the convos I heard, anything but.

Hard to believe this guy was chosen to represent the views of Rovers fans in Pune. Macho stuff now but lost his bottle while he was over there.

Still, if he only comes on the site when we win we won't hear from him for another 5 matches (on average). By then he'll have become a "trembler".

You should email this to every media organisation you can.

An absolute disgrace.

I was sat a couple of seats away and the fans were looking to provoke a reaction for sure. I was embarrassed by some of our fans last night and wish they would stick at trying to manage rovers on FM Some of the tactical suggestions offered to the coaching staff were hilarious. I'd have done more than lost my rag if I was spoken to that way by 'fans'

Not there so not fully qualified, but surely the right response was to have kept it professional and not react? I can imagine how fans can say stupid and hurtful things, but losing your rag never helps a situation? If it was Clement he's only been at the club a short time, he should be able to rise above it?

I've worked in a several service environments and one of our key points is to remain calm no matter what you're being faced with, and that's guys on 15k a year, by and large they can cope with it. Sounds like it might have gone beyond banter...

You don't get it do you? Are you suddenly pro kean on the assumption Venkys won't sack him? I take no enjoyment while that c##t is in charge.

I'm not pro kean Ffs can't you read!!!

Lose i'm afraid. People can say what they want about being a "real fan"... I have the long term future of our club at heart. Being in this cup is pointless whilst rooted to the foot of the league.

Loser!

Abbey has good intentions and is a big fan no doubt, but some of his posts border on 6 year old.

Why not read and get what people are saying? Anyone but Abbey and people would be flamed for his posts.

Wish we could win and STILL get Kean sacked. However, a defeat (as horrific as it is) could be best long term.

Just doesn't get it does he? Yet he still flames loyal fans.

He wanted Big Sam out so he can't say a lot really.

Blah blah

He may think he is protecting the younger players who were hearing this stuff. He worked at Chelsea for years, I don't think he is a mentalist.

Nothing wrong with showing passion is there? I would love it if we started winning games and proved everybody wrong.

I went to the match , decided to go on the day , kept my season tkt seats and few fellow fans did also around me , we had a good laugh together , celebrating with a conga and walk like Egyptian dance . Fans around me are in their 50s plus , long term tkt holders and we always try keep each others spirits up no matter what the outcome . This I would Miss also if didn't watch my team , none of fans around me are pro kean and hope for better manager / results but end of day we paid our money and thankfully enjoyed ourselves - this is what it's all about for me . Im saddened about rovers lately but not yet ready to abonden games and hoping it won't ever come to this , kerp season tickets low and most fans around me will renew I expect. Newcastle have a terrific fan base even through their bad times , I guess I suggest we rovers fans try to find that faith to watch the lads , I thought twenty quid was steep at first and guess that reflected on our poor gate . We may need our fans to support team to atempt to stay up - gona be a hard task

None whatsoever imo, but they way things are at the moment it's just fuel to add to arguments isn't it? Calm/measured responses would still have put them in their place whilst not giving the impression that ranting and raging is the first recourse - and at the end of the day you have a professional sports coach on one hand and what? A bunch of teenagers on the other?

The thing that I've been struggling with recently is what happens if we start winning and performing well, the latter sounds like it might even be happening already? I still personally have issues with Kean, so on the one hand I'd be delighted but I still don't like the character of the man, and I somehow doubt if our fortunes improve he's going to suddenly turn into a decent sort...

Mistakenly got tickets right next to the Newcastle bench. Pitch is virtually at eye level do frankly you can't see much of what is going on across the other side. Besides, Pardew and the newcastle staff kept standing up! Plenty of banter with them and they saw the funny side of most of it. Newcastle asst was fuming about the ref, including bad decisions FOR Newcastle. Didn't hear or see anything directed at Kean though. Overall a good atmosphere given the place felt empty (10,000 - ha) but not sure I'd sit in those seats again

Bitter-sweet is the only term I can think of to describe how I was feeling after last nights result.

I never want us to lose a game but can't help but feel that this is only going to aid Kean's dismal tenure.

Who knows though, this could be the turn of form that we need to send us on a run, seriously doubt it though.

Mixed emotions at the moment...

Realistically a cup win is the best the club can hope for unless the owners pumped in hundreds of millions. Therefore to progress to the cup Quarter Final is excellent news. Anyone who would rather we got beat, only to moan further when Kean doesn’t get the sack needs to give their head a wobble and have a word with themselves.

Surely it makes sense that the team wins any game possible, regardless of who the owner or manager is?

Last night we saw a 4-3 win for Rovers, against a team who have NOT lost a single game so far this season…..say what you want but that was a strong team we faced and apart from the dodgy 5 minutes added on we would have beat them in normal time.

Yes Newcastle had the majority of the possession but no way in this world did they have 70%. Anyway possession doesn’t win games, just ask Arsenal who have won nothing for 6 years with their pretty possession football.

Onto the quarters – dream tie has to be Crystal Palace at home, with the hope that the Manchester giants are drawn together, and that Liverpool & Chelsea also get paired.

Yes I noticed this , at one point towards end of match I saw kean move and wave his arms , he does seem to lack direction and remains calm ? We used to have Sam sat with lap top on face book :) and kean playing billiards with hands in pockets :( oh well

I know everyone's on edge at the moment (so we're trying to be a little more lenient and understanding), but the name calling stops now, or people will find they can't post.

Though this was the Newcastle game thread??

Can't the mods do something about the Kean/Venkys/protesting topics over lapping in to EVERY thread?

That's what I've wasted the first two hours of my working day doing. It would be so much easier just to remove peoples posting rights.

Have you learned nothing from the ticket office woman and the Kean sacking rumours? This message board for the last year or two has been rife with hear say. How much of it has actually turned out to be correct? Maybe we'll never know. And maybe they make great discussion points. But it creates so much aggravation around here that it spoils everything.

Good job we're not in China - http://www.networkworld.com/news/2011/102611-china-detains-internet-users-for-252392.html

We need points on the board not jollies in a cup comp. Must-win games coming up and I can't see us getting anything from them.

Wiining games breeds confidence....to win like last night could provide a massive boost to momentum & confidence!

That's such a ridiculously stupid post.

I want Steve Kean to leave this club, but I can't understand why anyone would not go and support the team and why they would want us to lose. Not showing up just makes this club look like a joke (several national media sources went out of their way to comment on the low attendance, mention how it was a good game a shame that more hadn't shown up and note that Newcastle had almost as many supporters at the game), will make the owners feel like it's not worth investing in the club (afterall we are essentially asking them to spend several millions in paying off Kean and brining in a replacement) and it has to be disheartening to the players.

If you're a supporter of the team you support the team. You aren't showing up to support Steve Kean, but you are showing up to be entertained and play a part as the 12th man supporting the players on the pitch. You do that in the good times, you do that in the bad times. All too often this messageboard reads like the diary of a whiny 14 year old girl. Get a grip, enjoy the cheapest season ticket in the football league and go and support the team.

I want Steve Kean to leave. I think its agiven that every Rovers fan wants Kean to leave so lets just move on from that. The reality is that he's still in the job. live with it.

I dont care who's in charge if we win. I'm a fan of the football club, not the manager. People want to see the club lose in order to change manager - cutting your nose off to spite your face. The most important part of the business is results and last night we won. It hasn't happened much so enjoy it just for one day at least!
