Any Rovers fan who wanted us to get beat last night is an IDIOT(In my opinion).

I wanna see more of the same in terms of us actually winning a game, together with the passion and the determination the team showed last night.

Well in my opinion anyone who feels that there is not a trend to what is happening and will only end in tears is a sheep in fanboy clothing.

If having an opinion makes me an idiot, then I am a happy, drooling, paint chip eating, window licking, one.

I am not a fan of Kean, however I'm willing to chill for right now. Looking at the schedule before Xmas, I think we have a good chance at getting out of the doledrums(sp).

Norwich vs Blackburn-must win

Blackburn vs Chelsea

Wigan vs Blackburn

Stoke vs Blackburn

Blackburn vs Swansea-must win

Sunderland vs Blackburn

Blackburn vs West Brom-must win

Blackburn vs Bolton-must win

Liverpool vs Blackburn

Man Utd vs Blackburn

I would say that Norwich away is must win for me. Plus the Home games against Swansea, West Brom and Bolton. I would also think we could win one of the 2 away games against Wigan or Sunderland. or at least come away with a draw from both.

I think from these games we need at least 10 to 14 points to have a hope of staying up!!!

I have never understood this ''our'' Rovers or ''my'' Rovers?

I suppose this means that people want the club to return to winning ways and to be run correctly on and off the field.

The use of ''our'' and ''my'' always make me cringe.

As for Fraserkirky I think he makes some good points, especially the Everton match, which must be one of the most surreal games I have ever been to, bearing in mind that with injury time approaching I was gutted we had only managed to get a point. The penalty decision was a joke and to walk away with nothing was a real sickner.

Also as ABBEY has said, no matter what you think of Kean/Venky's how anyone can actually want us to lose is mind blowing and proof that some of the fans are deluded.

Also the Kean/Venkys issue is really tearing this messageboard apart. If you are for Kean or against Kean everyone has their opinion and just because someone has a different view to you doesn't mean your right and he/she is wrong and vice versa.

No one can categorically say one way or the other whether Kean can turn it around and lead us to safety, but I know that for the next 29 games of the league season, plus how ever many games we have left in the cups, I want Rovers to win them all.

very good post Glen.

Rovers don't keep clean sheets anymore.

Rovers haven't kept a decent amount of clean sheets since Mark Hughes was our manager. For all of Allardyce's importance on keeping it tight, we did ship them in regularly with him.

I saw the goals on Sky Sports last night. Whatever you say about Kean It's clear that the players are still together. Their reactions to the goals were telling. I still think they like Kean, but he's not the authority figure footballers need (Moyes and Ferguson spring to mind).

We better start looking for hotels in London, this is obviously what cocco is giving the Rao's

"Blackburn manager Steve Kean believes his side could be walking out at Wembley for the Carling Cup final after beating Newcastle at Ewood Park last night. The Rovers boss makes his bold claim as he comes under fire from Rovers fans who want him replaced due to his team being rock bottom of the Premier League and in for a long, hard battle against relegation.

When asked about reaching the final he said: "Why not - and I said that to the players before the game.

"There's teams that have fancied it in the competition in years gone by and prospered and we fancy it. It also creates competition for places in the team in the league and we will give it a good go.

"We hope we get a nice draw now but we showed we wanted to get a victory in this match and would not let anything affect us."

so thats sorted then

If you reach the last 8 of a competition, I think its only fair to let you mind wander, thats not saying we're definitely going to make it.

If Kean came out and said "We've no chance" - Everyone would be criticising him for lack of ambition.

If Kean came out and said "We're going to win it!" - Everyone would be calling him deluded.

What would you have said?

We have been poor so far in the league, however the schedule hasn't been great either. Home to Wolves(defensive dibocal!) and Everton(the penalty misses) were the worst results so far, as both teams are struggling as well.

That would get us to 17 points by X-Mass, if my poor math holds up. Will that be enough? I thought 20+ was the target by X-Mass to avoid a relegation scrap.

We had 16 at Xmas under Sam, the first 13 coming under Ince then Sam winning his first game against Stoke.

What a pleasure to be at Ewood tonight. Of course it's always good to send the Geordies home crying (shades of Graham Fenton tonight I thought) ... but the real joy was to be sat amongst the REAL Rovers SUPPORTERS ... People like 'our kid' who had driven 150miles after work to be there. No sign of 'whinging cry-baby dummy spitting ex-fans', or half-wits who boo because they feel affronted to get beat off an all conquering City ... and of course with the tremblers boycotting it just left the REAL SUPPORTERS. Long may it continue.

Still trawling through twenty odd pages of this thread and this post really stands out.

My god, what a @#/? you are

Taking any feelings whatsoever towards Kean, his record is absolutely horrendous and under him, we appear dead certs for relegation this season.

This is my gripe and until the situation is addressed, things won't get better at Ewood.

Agree. Last year West Ham were rock bottom but going great guns in the Carling Cup. They beat Man U 4 something on 1 Dec and that bought Grant time. The porno kings dithered for a month before they decided to get shut of him and then they cocked it up big time with the MON debacle. End result Grant stayed and West Ham went down. Now that does not mean the same will happen at Rovers but equally one swallow does not make a summer. VENKYS please ignore the Carling Cup, it is Prem form that counts. Yes, a good cup run is nice for us but not when the priority is keeping us in this league.

To all you who could have gone and decided to boycott the match.......tongue.giftongue.giftongue.giftongue.giftongue.gif

You missed a cracking cup tie; a reet good ding-dong battle. Euphoria towards the end of normal time. Rock bottom misery at the final whistle.

Hope again. Dashed again. (We'll never win on penalties) Followed by utter jubilation and rapture.

The Rovers is not something I can walk away from. Ultimately, if these people make a complete mess they will walk away. We might be in a lower division but, hopefully, there will still be a club to support after these folk have long gone and are but a distant memory.

That's the spirit, Parson.

And your match report and comment are accurate.

I want us to win every game we play. Nothing would make me happier than Kean going on a 10 match winning streak and guiding us to safety.

Same for me.

Thing is, as a fan I know the difference between what's happening in the cup and what's happening in the league. As a cup tie, last night had all the elements you would want, goals, penalties, hope, despair, and ultimate euphoria, because when you are sitting or standing at a live cup game, you don't think about the manager, the league position or anything else. You just want to see Rovers win.

I want Kean gone. I am aware that if we'd lost last night we'd have possibly been one step further on the road to being rid of him, although that is not guaranteed. However, last night I just wanted to see my team, playing in blue and white halves, beat those Geordies. I was delighted to see how hurt the players seemed to be when they threw the lead away. I was delighted to see the passion when the normally slightly wimpish Pedersen scored. I was delighted to see the sheer joy of Givet's celebration. I was delighted to see the players collectively celebrate with him. And I was jumping around with the rest of the BBE when the final whistle went.

I understand totally those who feel it would have been better if we'd lost. Looked at from a distance that's how I might feel too. But I defy any fan on the ground last night to have wanted to see Rovers lose. It's not possible to suddenly lose the habit of wanting your team to win when you are there watching. I still hope Kean will go, although I don't see it happening, and if he's rewarded with a new contract then I don't want to be anywhere near Ewood whilst he remains, but last night wasn't about Kean. It was about players playing for their club, players like Pedersen, Givet, Olsson, and Lowe who despite what may or may not go on in league games, are doing a fair impression of caring about the club and playing for the fans.

Hope you paragons are ready to count how many times we enter Norwich's box on Saturday. :)

And of course a win for Rovers is a win for Kean & Venky's. It's not our club anymore.

Total nonsense and a complete diversion - presumably because you cannot justify your statement logically.

If it's not our club anymore then why are you bothered?

Kean on Rovers Player now doing an interview - I'lll summarise

Disappointed with not getting the clean sheet...

People will ask are the team together, this proves they are....

Good win over a side unbeaten in 14 games.....

Shows terrific morale and team spirit in the camp.....

Newcastle had their strongest team out.....

Result added to the performance of Tottenham game, good momentum.....

Always knew we would score goals....

Streteching towards a cleansheet, 55 minutes at Man City and now 89 minutes at Newcastle....

Givet deserved man of the match and played on despite feeling his hamstring around half time, refused to come off apparantley.....

Some games under our belt with decent performances and good results....

Some people have stamped their claim to play regularly in the league...

Norwich will be a tough game, medical and sports science staff need to get the team ready for it, players will be knackered and due a recovery day or two...

This is the first time I've been on here since the game; and if Kean made the comment I've high-lighted, it just proves his incompetence as a manager.

He obviously wasn't watching the same Newcastle team [especially their back 4] as my Geordie mate who reckoned the game showed how thin the Toon squad was! He was apoplectic about Perch and Simpson in particular and he was also scathing about Kean's "tactic" of bringing Hanley on for Hoilett [btw; has he actually signed that new contract yet? ( ;) JOKE!)] just before the end of normal time.

Just another example of his love of lying. It wasn't close to Newcastle's strongest team and he would have known that. He lies when we win and he lies when we lose.
