Glenn Posted October 19, 2011 Posted October 19, 2011 I think the podcast implied "assistant head coach" had been a BBC role at other clubs, not necessarily the role Paul Clement has taken on (now he's confirmed as Asst. Mgr.)

davulsukur Posted October 19, 2011 Posted October 19, 2011 Ah, cheers Glenn, despite only listening to the podcast last night, i couldn't remember what it was exactly that was said

sam_rovers Posted October 28, 2011 Posted October 28, 2011 fits in with the new culture being installed.. (Please don't use that word again) the fans
rovers_rob Posted January 3, 2012 Posted January 3, 2012 Has Paul Clement left to join Carlo Ancelotti at PSG ? I am sure Richard Keys has just mentioned this on talksport but I only heard part of the conversation.
RibbleValleyRover Posted January 3, 2012 Posted January 3, 2012 Has Paul Clement left to join Carlo Ancelotti at PSG ? I am sure Richard Keys has just mentioned this on talksport but I only heard part of the conversation. Talk about rats leaving a sinking ship if true.
rovers11 Posted January 3, 2012 Posted January 3, 2012 Talk about rats leaving a sinking ship if true. If this is true (and I suspect it is), it will be interesting to see if Venky's let Kean appoint a new number 2. That would give us a big indication of whether they still truly back him or not. I personally don't think they do.
Mattyblue Posted January 3, 2012 Posted January 3, 2012 But what about Kean's investigation into his dugout antics in the Carling Cup? Hope that is sorted before he leaves.
rovers_rob Posted January 3, 2012 Posted January 3, 2012 I might have got the wrong end of the stick but I'm sure Keys said this. Did anyone else hear him say it ?

Didn't hear it but wouldn't surprise me. They were together at Chelsea and Paris St Germain is a more attractive prospect than Rovers at the moment.
Hughesy Posted January 3, 2012 Posted January 3, 2012 Not a bad thing if he has......get Ray Wilkins in and get him working on our defence!
Kelbo Posted January 3, 2012 Posted January 3, 2012 I dont think Wilkins would work with Kean as the manager, in fact, I dont think Wilkins would work for Venkys full stop!
Amo Posted January 3, 2012 Posted January 3, 2012 Wouldn't blame him. Only a matter of time before Kean gets him fired anyway.
rovers_rob Posted January 3, 2012 Posted January 3, 2012 I have just listened to Talksport again from here and between 11 and 11:30 (28 mins in) Richard Keys said that Wilkins wouldn't be joining PSG but Paul Clement had joined.
davulsukur Posted January 3, 2012 Posted January 3, 2012 Wouldn't suprise me if true. Wilkins would be an amazing appointment but he won't join.
T4E Posted January 3, 2012 Posted January 3, 2012 Any minute now Kean will release a statement saying that he's injured.
sparky12 Posted January 3, 2012 Posted January 3, 2012 Any minute now Kean will release a statement saying that he's injured. +1
booth Posted January 3, 2012 Posted January 3, 2012 Any minute now Kean will release a statement saying that he's injured. Made me LOL in the office
Eddie Posted January 3, 2012 Posted January 3, 2012 I mentioned it in the podcast, but I may as well say it here as I'm not sure how soon the podcast will be available, but I have it on good authority that Clement is joining Ancelotti's backroom staff at PSG.

That's not a bad idea. I might start supporting them now.

First premier league club to have 3 different assistant managers in one season? Cost cutting would probably see no replacement coming in.......?
Majiball Posted January 3, 2012 Posted January 3, 2012 First premier league club to have 3 different assistant managers in one season? Cost cutting would probably see no replacement coming in.......? Cost cutting??? Hopefully we'll get loads of compo money from the mega rich PSG! One can dream.
modes98 Posted January 3, 2012 Posted January 3, 2012 Cost cutting would probably see no replacement coming in.......? You would think we will get a replacement, if not it shows the backing for Kean isn't as strong as he thinks and I can't see Mrs D allowing that for her Scottish Puppy. Probably get some other no mark from Kean's address book, I doubt the big names will be knocking at the door eager to jump on board.

She might fancy the gig to be fair.
