A great article PB - its worthy of a much broader readership than just this messageboard too.

Has anyone sent a link to Andy Cryer, Henry Winter, etc..?

It's a very good piece Glen. I would be interested to know how much of it PB remembered himself - and how much he head to research.

To me, the best contributory article on this site is the history section composed by Four Lane Blue. I remember it took Darren a long time to get it together. I wonder how many people have actually took the time to read it?

Cheers Den, but to be honest I only completed the very first part and I have never had time since to write anymore. Furthermore, I don't live anywhere near Blackburn (or England, for that matter) anymore so it is no longer to pop down to Blackburn Library and look through the old sources. I do come back every now and then to see family + the Rovers.

I only just got around to reading the article, as from the title of the thread, I presumed this thread was just about betting odds for which manager will be sacked first. I suggest you rename the thread title as the article was a wonderful read. It's always a pleasure to read about the past of Rovers and interesting to see just how modern developments reflect things that have gone on before. Well done to Parson Blue. Is he a vicar?

Agree entirely Baz. I would guess dcbrfc could put a link in his LT blog, but it deserves more than that. Aren't there a few members who work in various media outlets? Whilst the article might not be top of the required reading list to most folk who don't follow Rovers, it presents a very valid picture that Rovers fans are anything but rabid dogs.

A great read!

Like others, nearly missed it because of the thread title

and... a trip down memory lane - well from the 70s

I'm amazed this hasn't gotten more of a reaction. It's simply one of the best pieces I've seen written on here.

I'll second that. A brilliant piece.

I also think that this is a brilliant piece. It was an awesome history lesson, especially for younger fans like me.

I have no doubt that Kean will be replaced, I just wonder who will take over.

I read the article when the report first appeared but didn't have time to comment. It is superb, and also highlights simply how much time we've already given Kean.

Indeed. Kamy sent this to contacts at one of the broadsheets and also faxed it to Pune for the attention of Mrs Desai.

Also, it seems to have been picked up beyond Rovers fan sites and blogs as testified by this piece in Imagine Soccer by Chris White: Kean Should Walk for the Good of Blackburn, which quotes the article by Parsonblue extensively (and with permission).
