[Archived] BRFC Fans Open Meeting and Protest at the Spurs game

I cant get to the match on Sunday due to work commitments; but I will be arriving there a little late so I can go on the march. I went on the first small affair but I'm hoping for something much much bigger second time round. If you really want Rovers to have a chance of staying in the Prem this is the only way we fans have left to let the owners know. Even these Venky clowns cant ignore a multi thousand fan protest. Well done to glen et al for making this possible. KEAN OUT!!

I fully support EVERYONE who is on the protest at the Brown Cow, The Ground and so on. What I would say is that the fans needs to be united about this and not turn on one and other like we saw against City.

I am just wondering just how venomous the atmosphere will get should Spurs score first !

I suppose it will either galvanise the team to perform better or indeed go the opposite way and see them crumble.

One things certain. Should we lose, I will look forward to the responses from Kean, Mr Hunt and co and especially the owners.

KEAN OUT

I am sure there are many Rovers fans like me who would love to join but can't because we don't live close to Blackburn. For a town based club we have a relatively large fanbase outside of the immediate area, this site is testament to that. I hope that Glen and co can convey that to the club and the media. We support you, regardless of the amount of people that are actually there.

i know mate, I will. I will post it in here before I print it out at work

Also, Im open to suggestions on what the banner can contain

As others have said, I would reinforce the record that we have under Kean. I think he's been in charge for nearly 30 games (although it feels like far more) and we have won only a couple of them. That way we can't have ignorant pundits like Shearer saying that he needs more games and he hasn't been given a chance. I would also highlight the fact that it is a MAJORITY that want's him out, not a minority. Something like '95% of fans want you out. That's not a minority.' Or words to that effect.

I used to have nothing against Steve Kean, even when we were doing poorly. He was obviously out of his depth and should have walked away. But since then, he's taken us to the brink, want walk away to let someone competent at least try and save the club, he's openly lied out the fans and their opinion of him and he keeps spinning the same positive BS, despite us being bottom of the league and without a hope while he's still around. It's gotten personal.

Looking like rain on Sunday and plenty of it. How jammy are these Venkys?

if it rains it will sadly affect numbers, however it should not do

this is a big chance to make our voices heard in numbers, i will be there fighting for my football club's future whether the sun is blazing or a monsoon occurs.

the weather should not be a valid reason to stop people protesting

edit: unless for medical reasons it is advisable. I don't want to be encouraging the elderly and vulnerable to catch the flu or pneumonia. The above message is for the people fit enough to cope with the adverse weather conditions.

The response has been much larger than last time, so I wouldnt like to put an estimate on things, All I do know is fans need to air their voice and if they chose not to, then Kean will remain. Results will not be enough to have him removed from the equation and Venkys arte stalling for time.

The day Venkys bought our club is the day Blackburn Rovers stopped being about football and results!!

Those things only matter to the fans,we may not have millions like Jack Walker did, but without us there is no club.

John Williams emailed me the other day and said "He couldnt even bring himself to come to Ewood when Rovers played City" but could not comment further

That tells me more than any Rao/Desai interview ever could.

Profoundly upsetting.

What about:

KEAN - YOU'RE IN A MINORITY OF ONE.

SO DO ONE NOW.

What about a play on the film Minority Report?

Surely someone more capable than I at this marketing and PR game can amend this:

Or you have a large choice here:

Ok people all banners for the protest don't have to be hidden. The club and police have asked that as long as they are not offensive, racist, insight violence, don't contain sticks (flags)

Then they will allow them in the ground. They will allow them to e displayed before the game and after during the sit. However any displaye during the game will be removed. Please abide by this request

In addition the time of the march from the Cow has been brought forward to 13:45 on safety grounds, this is a legal condition imposed by the police. This is fully supported by the organisers. There will be a full update later this evening.

However please can you spread the word about the march being brought forward ASAP
