glen9mullan Posted October 19, 2011 Posted October 19, 2011 The Blackburn End only 'sit in' won't work if a large number of fans elsewhere in the ground want to protest... eg what if the BBE gets overcrowded with people moving? My thoughts are the Darwen End mainly tbh, as some fans held an unplanned protest after one of the games last season and I expect that to be the case again on Sunday as part of this organised one, but with those wanting to take part remaining where they are after the game. Obviously if numbers are so vast that moving stands in unpracticle then fans will obviously remain in the area of the ground they are sat in

Backroom Tom Posted October 19, 2011 Backroom Posted October 19, 2011 Could it not get a bit dodgy if a lot of people are entering the BBE through the same doors many are exiting?
Ben-2000 Posted October 19, 2011 Posted October 19, 2011 Obviously if numbers are so vast that moving stands in unpracticle then fans will obviously remain in the area of the ground they are sat in OK, was just curious and surprised really at that idea for safety reasons, unless the club only expect a handful to remain behind. Could it not get a bit dodgy if a lot of people are entering the BBE through the same doors many are exiting? Exactly, can't see John Newsham agreeing to that. He's top notch where health/safety is concerned.
roverandout Posted October 19, 2011 Posted October 19, 2011 glen if rovers win on sunday will the protest have the same impact on the owners as it would had we lost?
rovgers Posted October 19, 2011 Posted October 19, 2011 I would sincerely hope that any banner produced DURING the game would have the effect of the stewards asking for them to be removed. Banners displayed whilst the game is in progress would certainly not help the players quest in obtaining three points. I don't think the 'Kean out' banner made any difference to the players against City!! Anyway the point I'm trying to make is, if we're are 2-0 down with 5 mins to go and somebody gets out a 'Kean out' banner, if stewards go in to remove the banner this could ignite a potential flashpoint.

beerwins Posted October 19, 2011 Posted October 19, 2011 Could it not get a bit dodgy if a lot of people are entering the BBE through the same doors many are exiting? You walk out the doors they wont let you back in regardless of what has been promised.
Mercer Posted October 19, 2011 Posted October 19, 2011 glen if rovers win on sunday will the protest have the same impact on the owners as it would had we lost? Even more so perhaps - would show just how Kean is loathed and not respected !
Ben-2000 Posted October 19, 2011 Posted October 19, 2011 John Newsham is the one who has proposed this Fair enough, they're definately only expecting a few protesters to stay behind in that case.
Rovers_786 Posted October 19, 2011 Posted October 19, 2011 As Simon has already pointed out the March has been brought forward to 13.45 On sunday. The club have been fantastic with their co-operation and we are very thankful of that. The reason the March has brought forward is on Health and Safety grounds, and also to ensure all that take part can protest with no obstruction. The club have also kindly agreed to allow the sit in protest to last a maximum of 45 minutes after the match. The sit in protest will be held in the Blackburn End, and anyone who is not seated in that area, are asked to exit the ground as normal and then re-enter the ground through the Blackburn End Exit doors which will be open with no obstruction. Both the organisors and club felt this was better than pockets around the ground on both Health & Safety grounds and also on impact the message will have. Banners will be allowed in the ground providing they are not offensive, but these are to be used at Full-time, and not suring the game, as most importantly we want 3 points and we all feel banners during the game will have an effect on the players. Along with the Police the organisors will have 10 stewards to help with the March to get everyone to the ground as one group safely and in good spirit Thank You for the info you got the club in your heart and your doing well here, not many people would have done what you have at this point may god bless your souls. Ralfinho please load up your banner on here for us to see please thank you :D :D
pick32 Posted October 19, 2011 Posted October 19, 2011 The banner should say "I spiked Kean (drastic measures)".
OhmiBRFC Posted October 20, 2011 Posted October 20, 2011 You walk out the doors they wont let you back in regardless of what has been promised. My mate always nips out for a fag when the doors open and is then allowed back in.

rovgers Posted October 20, 2011 Posted October 20, 2011 Even less flattering... "PL: 22 W: 3" But it wouldn't be right!
Andy Posted October 20, 2011 Posted October 20, 2011 Definitely: STEVE KEAN IN PL: P29 W6 D9 L14 WP = 20.69% WORST EVER ROVERS PL MANAGER Easy enough for even the Venkiest of Venkys to understand and will definitely make national news
Al Posted October 20, 2011 Posted October 20, 2011 But it wouldn't be right! Yes it would and it is short and to the point. The others are too long and cannot be read at a glance. With a banner waving in the wind it has to be short and easy to comprehend. The Raos will not concentrate on a long message for long enough to get the meaning across.
Fowl Play Posted October 20, 2011 Posted October 20, 2011 Fowl play's avatar would make send a fantastic message IMO and hits home at both venkys, Kean and our current predicament. Kean lies Venky's lie The table doesn't. Kean out! All being well, I will be carrying such a banner on the march with my son (and afterwards).

When he's won 6 games in Pl!
