Fowl Play Posted October 20, 2011 Posted October 20, 2011 Just a few points as unfortunately, I can't make the meeting tonight but I will be at the march and sit-in on sun come hell or high water. 1. Firstly, sincere thanks to Glen & the other organisers for all your efforts - you are doing an absolutely fantastic job which is much appreciated by myself and I'm sure, many others. 2. Could someone please seek definitive clarification from the club & police as to whether banners can be displayed inside the ground prior to the match (but removed B4 kick-off)? I may be barking up the wrong tree but it just seems to me that perhaps venkys and kean are hiding under the umbrella of H&S on this issue as they know full well that an impressive visual display of anti-kean sentiment IN the ground B4 kick-off will receive a lot of media attention and will possibly be widely perceived as the Rovers fans beating them at their own PR game (I'm sure I'm not the only one to have noticed various players making various 'unity' statements this week, etc. Today it was N'Zonzi's and the Yak's turn - who will it be tomorrow?) 3. Could someone please seek clarification as to what is termed as 'offensive'? Beyond the obvious personal insults and swearing, etc, this is a word that is open to different interpretation. For example, if I display my intended banner with my avatar on it, would this be classed as 'offensive' as after all, I am calling the so-called manager and the owners liars? It could be said that my banner would be offensive to them personally, if not the other 96% of Rovers supporters (based on the BRFCS poll). Cheers everyone and roll-on sunday!

bob fleming Posted October 20, 2011 Posted October 20, 2011 But it wouldn't be right! "Last 22 PL Games? Won 3. KEAN OUT" That's not right. The other banner actually says 27 points from 29 games. Although that's still dire, it's not damning enough, IMO. Still it's not my banner! I don't want any bother!
Plastic Head Posted October 20, 2011 Posted October 20, 2011 Given today's revelations perhaps we should all try to smuggle bags of gold into the ground?
Silittl Posted October 20, 2011 Author Posted October 20, 2011 Fowl play! I was at te meeting with glen and banner are definately allowed to be displayed before KO and at the final whistle. Not during the game! The club and police have instructes no swearing, insultive, in sighting violence, racist, offensive comments. There were no examples given on this. It was my littler lad who photo's with the banner of Kean dressed as chicken with Kean out on it. So I guess they found that acceptable. So if your Avatar I some thing like thy you may be ok!
Ralfinho Posted October 20, 2011 Posted October 20, 2011 I wonder if I did a banner with "###### OFF OUT OF BLACKBURN KEAN YOU SCOTTISH NOVICE" it would be took off me!!!! lol ps. im not doing that. Im waiting on the banner via email then I will be printing it off
Slinky Posted October 20, 2011 Posted October 20, 2011 I don't understand how they have the authority to forbid people to hold up Kean Out banners during a match. Freedom of speech, surely?
Ralfinho Posted October 20, 2011 Posted October 20, 2011 banners printing out as I type. They are BIG. Its going to be roughly 14m long when assembled. PDF sizes limiting me to 4x3.2m lengths anyone got a sports hall I can use to assemble? LOL
Glenn Posted October 20, 2011 Posted October 20, 2011 There is no legal right to freedom of speech in the UK. There is morally right to freedom of speech on somebody else's premesis (i.e. their football grounds, their rules).
Silittl Posted October 20, 2011 Author Posted October 20, 2011 Slinky this all about causing a distraction to the players. Given what the club are allowing us to do. And legally they could refuse the sit in! I think it's best we abide by their request! Don't think for one minute I disagree with you. But if they are prepared to work with us we should work with them! Because god forbid Sunday doesnt have the desired effect! Then we could be doing this all over again against Chelsea! So let's work with them as we need them to facilitate our needs!
Ralfinho Posted October 20, 2011 Posted October 20, 2011 What's the banner say Ralfinho? STEVE KEAN IN PL: P29 W6 D9 L14 WP = 20.69% WORST ROVERS PL MANAGER & another with KEAN - DOES THIS SOUND LIKE A MINORITY? I THINK NOT They are both approx 8m in length each
davulsukur Posted October 20, 2011 Posted October 20, 2011 Good work. Just make sure your not sat in a crowd of about 50 people before you unfold the second one

There is morally right to freedom of speech on somebody else's premesis (i.e. their football grounds, their rules). I really think you folks should sort that out. I'd think it be a big campaign point to some forward thinking political party.
Ralfinho Posted October 20, 2011 Posted October 20, 2011 Good work. Just make sure your not sat in a crowd of about 50 people before you unfold the second one gonna save the 2nd one for the sit in after the match
Brfcrule1 Posted October 20, 2011 Posted October 20, 2011 well done Ralfinho & all sorry I won't be there to see it but will catch it on tv later seeing as Venkys won't listen to reason Ralfinho's is direct and to the point. Ralf I don't know if it's too late you could incorporate stats don't lie. But well done getting to the point something they can't ignore I only wish their was more done at the qpr game as I would definitely joined in.
Andy Posted October 20, 2011 Posted October 20, 2011 STEVE KEAN IN PL: P29 W6 D9 L14 WP = 20.69% WORST ROVERS PL MANAGER & another with KEAN - DOES THIS SOUND LIKE A MINORITY? I THINK NOT They are both approx 8m in length each Great work, well played
whittle blue Posted October 20, 2011 Posted October 20, 2011 Or even simpler... 'Venkys - sort it out' Agree. Short and to the point.
