AlanK Posted October 16, 2011 Posted October 16, 2011 British racing driver Dan Wheldon has died in the most violent racing crash I have ever seen. He was the 1st english driver to win the Indy 500 since Graham Hill. This was the last race of the season and he started last having set himself a target of 1st with a reward of £5m for charity. Been watching this guy since his karting days at Rissington in Gloucestershire. Been telling anyone who will listen its only a matter of time before it happens in F1 again. I would say thats why they get paid what they get paid but some prem footballers get paid more to roll around like fairys. My link

Biddy Posted October 17, 2011 Posted October 17, 2011 Just seen the clip, what a shocking accident. I can't believe how easily so many cars caught fire though. Don't remember seeing that happen in F1 for quite some time.
Rovers_786 Posted October 17, 2011 Posted October 17, 2011 RIP to him it was awful to watch the crash. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2049949/Dan-Wheldon-crash-video-IndyCar-champion-dead-15-car-pile-Las-Vegas.html
SAS Posted October 17, 2011 Posted October 17, 2011 Awful, tragic, horrific. I think f1 is much much safer than Indy. Although it could potentially see a review of DRS, since it increase's speed but decrease's grip and stability.
pg Posted October 19, 2011 Posted October 19, 2011 Awful bloody accident. This is why most European drivers refuse to drive ovals. It would seem that he missed the concrete wall completely and landed in the crash fencing. Will Power was lucky not to be seriously injured as well.
