Am currently watching Spurs as they lead 1-0.

They play some fantastic football through the middle however they are wide open at the back and the Kazan lot have missed some good chances.

Still, I doubt Kean and co are capable of setting a team up to actually play football, defend and score goals.

I dread to think what Defoe and Pavylechenko are gonna do to the defence not to mention Modric and Lennon.

Isn't this Nelson Valdes chap the one we were after in the Summer? Looks a right handful.

I dont see how we are going to contain them in midfield.

Modric & Parker are so much stronger than what we have & i worry about Bale going forward v Salgado as he tore us up at the lane last season.

Adebayor v Samba in theory should be a good matchup for us but you never know.

Robbo

Lowe Samba Danna Ollson

NZonzi ?

Hoilett Rochina Formica

Yakubu

My concern is who can sit in the midfield with Nzonzi - Petrovic doesn't look up to it, Grella is crocked & I'm not sure whetehr Dunny can fulfill that role if hes available.

1-3 & hopefully a new manager

our midfield is a problem. id go for lowe or pedersen with n'zonzi.

In summer I felt we needed either 2 midfielders or a midfielder and a full back especialy with the 2 jones gone. Kean got petrovic. He came up short so we have to hope lowe can make it or ramm, henley have a chance? Neither have had a cup game. But kean STILL doesnt know how to set up a team. I couldnt even make out what formation we were supposed to be, absolutly no dicipline in our set up anymore hence why do much preassure on our full backs and defenders our taking so much blame. I know at times the player have to take some responsability but this problem is down to Kean alone. And putting a bucket over him wont stop the smell...!

Good preview Benny boy.

Thank you.

I'll go with everyone else's pessimism in that Spurs are likely to win. They played a reserve team tonight against Rubin Kazan so they will be up to full strength on Sunday.

Despite Steve Kean's continual and deluded air of optimism I fully expect to be driving back to Manchester on Sunday afternoon swearing loudly (& hopefully inventively.) I'd love to be proved wrong. Lennon v Salgado doesn't look good does it?

There is no logical reason for my thoughts here, but I just have this gut feeling were going to literally nick a win sunday. The last time I had this kind of feeling was last day of last season when I said to my mate all week leading up to the Wolves game Brett Emerton is going to do something magical. Then he went and scored a volley from 20 yards.

I had a look at the football management structure (First Teams) of Rovers and Spurs

Blackburn Rovers - First Team Management and support staff

Manager: Steve Kean

Assistant Manager: Paul Clement

First Team Coach: Iain Brunskill

Goalkeeping coach: Bobby Mimms

Tottenham Hotspur - First Team Management and support staff

Manager: Harry Redknapp

Assistant manager: Kevin Bond

First team coach: Joe Jordan

Assistant first team coach: Tim Sherwood

Goalkeeping coach: Tony Parks

Striker coach: Les Ferdinand

Maybe we are competitive at Goalkeeping coach level.

Rovers appear to have no Striker coach.......perhaps Kean covers that as part of his multi-tasking.

It really is disgusting, it's the one thing that baffles me most about Kean's reign.

He could have helped himself immensely if he had surrounded himself with top coaches and a good assistant. Even good managers like Allardyce and Hughes wanted to surround themselves with quality coaches when they were here.

To me it just further highlights the arrogance of the tosser that he thought he could do a good job without bringing adequate coaching staff. If the likes of Hughes and Allardyce were humble enough to know that they needed good support then why isn't Kean? It's incredibly stupid as well as arrogant.

He prefers to surround himself with friends LeC.

That tells us a lot about him.

We can't even put a management 5 a side team out without calling on the Reserves!

It really does show the arrogance of the man. There is no way that Kean could work ''under'' a DoF or similar.

I left our Sporting Director of the Rovers list as I have no idea what that person does -its probably community related.

Allardyce and Hughes did no different to that which Kean has done. Sam, McDonald, Howard, Lamb had all been together at either Newcastle or Bolton. Hughes brought Bowen, The GK coach, Roden from wales and took them with him as well. It's the way of the footballing world, bizarre.

Ah we now have Ryan Nelson, telling us how to support our team. Just need Kean himself to talk down to me later on SSN.

Players love coaches, coaches always have and always will be one of the lads.

But Managers MANAGE, hence why they never get the love in treatment.

Hence why Kean is no and never will be a manager.

Absolutely spot on.

There won't be many games this season where the keepers on both sides are coming up against their former clubs.

If we do get anywhere near their goal, then young Mr Friedel will no doubt keep it out.

Welcome back Brad.

I was thinking back the other day about Friedel, how good was he for us! I'd say he literally won us 6-10 points a season on his own. Also on keepers how do people think Robinson has played this season? I'd have to say I've been rather disappointed, he doesn't seem to pull off the "worldies" like Friedel or am I just being greedy and was spoilt by Brad?

It's totally different. I wasn't talking about knowing the staff befhorehand, I was on about their experience and ability.

Allardyce brought in Kean as first team coach, that wasn't a "job for the boys". He went for someone who he considered to be the most qualified for the job. McDonald had plenty of experience too.

Hughes stuck with the staff he worked with at Wales, but they were all very well qualified. Bowen is recognised as an excellent number two, and Niedzwiecki (who you missed from the list) had been with Chelsea and Arsenal as a coach prior to joining us.

Absolutely nothing wrong with going with people you know, as long as they're good. It makes perfect sense actually.

Kean just gave Brunskill his old job, and he's never coached the first team before. He went for Jensen as assistant - a man he'd never met before - and that turned out terribly.

Nelsen backs Ince

Nelsen: Ince would have relegated us

Say no more.
