A terrible decision to bring on Goodwillie who, as usual, showed a complete inability to hold onto the ball. Even Roberts would have been better. Also inexplicable that Rochina taken off - as he had been the best and certainly the classiest player in the first haif. Should have hooked Formica who again did little of note and gave away soft possession.Have to hope the Hoilett hamstring is not long-term as that would be the final nail. It should also not be overlooked that Horwich fluffed an awful lot of chances in the first half when both flanks were cut open with ease and crosses flew in to the box on numerous occasions. The full backs' positional play (both sides)is abysmal. Rovers at time splayed some excellent possession football but so have some of the other relegated teams in recent years......

just got back from game... and i think i just echo the thoughts of most ppl on here...thought we were fantastic today... in the second half especially. Just had 5 hour train ride not understanding how we didn't win that.

NZONZI, ROCHINA, HOILETT were all outstanding HOILETT really is a class above.....shame we probably only got a couple more months of him

Never thought id say this but do agree that we shud have bought Roberts on, Yak was knackered and JRob could have made the ball stick.

David Dunn...thanks for the memories

played well but no luck and inept substitutions......Kean out x

Poor decision to put two subs on when we were looking quite comfortable. That said we were extremely unlucky, and if anything, N'Zonzi was fouled just before the handball. He shouldn't have put his arms out like that though. Devastating loss, and next up are Chelsea who have a lot to prove.

Kean has got to go, I don't care if he has the players behind him or not.

If the subs didnt happen we would have won thats for certain!

Nuff said.

Those pesky appearance bonuses eh? Keep your agent happy and win matches? Can't be easy.

Clearly.

Still, not to worry. Soon be back in Surrey. Hopefully.

So here's a challenge to make Statto green with envy: in the Kean era just how many substitutions have been made circa 75 mins plus that were deemed to be unnecessary or damaging to our chances of winning or hanging on to a point?

Kean on mechanics -This engine here is working fantastic, time to change the type of oil we us.

This car gets fantastic miles per gallon with petrol, let's try corn syrup.

Never been this unhappy while drunk off my ass on good whiskey. God hates us, or maybe he just doesn't like Kean. Who knows?

we played well at the end the ref caused us,I for one agree with Steve Kean tonight as must I hate the guy.

Hell yes.

I've never defended Kean before BUT watching today's game we played some of the best passing football for ages.

Kean was NOT to blame for the 2 goal comeback - Barcalona wouldn't have been Able to cope with the deflection or the refs terrible decision.

Yes it's a results business but we DESERVED the points today, better performance from the youngsters than so many of Big Sam's away day surrenders.

We deserved the point against Everton too but we didn't get them. You can point to a last minute poor penalty decision there too but others would point to 2 missed by us.

We've won 2 games this season, both 4-3 and we enjoyed the luck in both. Sadly only one was in the League.

We'll get a lot of sympathy from neutrals over this latest one but in the end, it won't count for anything and we'll still go down. No-one will care but us.

There's a pattern here if you care to look that is far more important than any one game, and its 31 games/ 28 points.

That will stay constant imo and it will take us down. The fact is we are not set up for success because the manager is not up to it.

Still gutted, deflected shot and how is that ever a penalty. I had a feeling for the last 10 mins that the ref was trying to give Norwich a means to a comeback but a Pen for THAT, ######. WTF was Kean thinking with the subs, looking pretty comfortable and then bam we lose our momentum. Not sure where 5 mins came from either. Oh well when your down and all that.

Well said, 47er.

Don't think I've said that for awhile.

Having watched the highlight and heard how we played, things look more promising. Norwich got lucky. Very lucky.

remember with Harford in 1996 we drew with Man U 2-2 then didn't win for 9 games

Or Hodgson 4-3 loss to Chelsea cand got unlucky.

When a manager can't win even when his team are playing well against a promoted fairly average team, it's scary.

lose playing badly, lose or lose playing well

I can't imagine now what a defeat in the Chelsea match will do.

Merson doesnt often talk sense:

http://www.skysports.com/video/inline/0,,12606_7276136,00.html

In a nutshell -

Today, Kean made mistakes. The subs he made disrupted our momentum and gave Norwich the initiative HOWEVER we still only lost because of a deflected shot which 99 times in 100 flies into the top tier and a penalty which shouldn't have been given. As hard as it is to swallow, today we genuinely lost because of bad luck. That isn't to say Kean's blameless and I haven't suddenly become his 'cheerleader'.

I know its fashionable to throw all the blame at Kean each week but for once, this may not have been totally down to him.

He needs to go, dont get me wrong, and usually the excuses he comes out with each week are verging on nauseating, but this week I think we can point to some real bad luck for once.

Subs that invite pressure? We had Hoilett and Rochina protecting the full backs in the first half, thats hardly protection is it??? I was happy at the first XI and I think that was the strongest side Kean could have picked. The goals we conceded wouldn't have been scored 99 days in a 100 regardless of Kean's changes. Today we were robbed but it wasnt simply down to Kean. Put the pitchfork down for once.

Are you thick or what? Oh I forgot most rovers fans are thick like you, yes attacking wingers equals attacking football which In turn means rovers in opposition half meaning less pressure on defence you think ######

or three games in six days?

Sorry I don't go along with that. Professional athletes should be able to perform three times in six days. They won't train the day after a game but do some pool of light gym work and a massge. It could have been dehydration or lack of salt that caused it but I have seen evidence in a lot of games this season that the players are well below where their fitness levels should be.

OK so let's strip this of sentiment or opinion. Any Stattos out there care to tot up how many substitutions during the Kean era have occurred around 75 mins?

Yes let's not miss the opportunity to go back. I don't [articularly like Kean or the Venky's but there are some on here that now no matter if we do happen to do anything positive tehy will simply not have so I'm not going to waste my fingers. Pleased with the overall performance, mad as hell at the ref and our blasted luck, enjoyed the game as a whole so ref aside I'm happy. Still concered but happy. I'd have taken a point before Kick off as some of the doom and gloomers were saying Norwich are no pushovers. I rest here
