Done some research, sounds like a very good defender. Had some unknown issues at Wolfsburg possibly stress related and is now is looking for a new club, he has not been eligible to play for anyone until now as his contract was terminated AFTER the transfer window had closed, that's why he's still a free agent. Bit of a mystery really but is considered a German international.
