i was in a state of frenzy about the kean contract thing for a bit until i realised that there would surely be no way they would be that stupid and naive, they would surely know the backlash they would get off the fans if they gave him a new contract, i still live in hope that they see sense but commonsense isnt one of venky's strong points.

What kind of backlash would you envisage.This lot are new to Prem football.

The only backlash so far is a few hundred angry fans and a few banners.

The LT back page headline today told you all you need to know 'I'll ignore the fans'.

Afterall there are only a few thousand and we dont pay that much for a season ticket so obviously Rovers fans arent going to be too valued a customer are they.

mr maureen, backlash in terms of turning on the venkys, so far they have managed to hide behind kean but once the anger turns on them, they will get publicity they dont want even though in most quarters they are seen as a bunch of jokers ( that last comment was written from what others have said and i have no inside info before anyone asks)

I feel the initial information from Preston Blue was posted in good faith, along with his world record breaking 5k. However, don't get the same sense of faith in the Kean to India rumours. Take everything aside for one minute on Kean and think why would a premier league manager leave a job to head up youth recruitment, let alone in India?

Yes, I'm sure he was. Although he was one of ours [back way back when], I'm not sure how good a coach he is. And, anyway, we don't need another coach; ffs, we need a Manager.

True, but Kean has said in the past that he would take up a different role if asked by Venky's. Not sure whether that is still his stance.

Well i don't for one second believe he meant it. As much as he is a laughing stock now, that would multiply ten fold if he took up that position.

It's a sad indictment of how we are all feeling that we would cling on to such faint hopes, I suppose. I genuinely believe he'll be gone before the Chelsea game, on the assumption that we don't win at Norwich.
