A line from the LT - Caroline Silk to be appointed financial director

Would be nice if they could get the name right ... it's Karen Silk.

This is Staffordshire link.

Head of finance Karen Silk has departed the Britannia Stadium, however, to take up a similar post at Blackburn Rovers.

Martin Goodman, who had already left Blackburn after 16 years at Ewood Park, has moved south to replace her at Stoke.

Does anyone actually think O'Neill would choose Leicester over us? I don't.

Based on what is in the public domain I would go to Leicester.

Frankly you'd have to be certifiable to work for the Raos.

Why would people work for Leicester over us??

Prem team or championship team?? The Loyalty that Venkys have shown Kean must be a big interest for many a manager to be fair......just a shame we have shown such a plonker the loyalty we have!

Interesting that Martin Goodman has joined Stoke. They also took Andrew Pincher after Venky's sacked him. Funny how people who Venky's think aren't up to the mark soon find clubs who are more than happy to employ them. Somehow I can't see other clubs being in a rush to employ a certain manager!

Could it be they maybe were finding out things our owners didnt want them to know?

Incidentally, who employs Kean, BRFC or Venkys London Ltd?? (just been asked to find out)

I wouldnt personally work for the Raos, they dont appear to be right in the head in my opinion.

The problem at the Rovers is going to be the owners. If Mrs. D. wants to make all the decisions then no manager worth his salt is going to put up with that. At the moment the Rovers is a very unattractive proposition and if we become cut adrift at the foot of the table we will be even less attractive.

Actually, their behaviour with Kean could be a plus point for a potential new manager. They've been very supporting and willing to give him far more time than other owners would.

Kean seemed to have control of transfers in the summer and we managed to do a lot of business, even if funds weren't in abundance.

Our biggest obstacle would be our points total. As others have eloquently and logically pointed out, survival from this position is a massive task if you assume we won't get points from the tough away games against the top teams.

To answer Hughesy's question, that could be why O'Neill would favour a move to Leicester over us. It's quite likely that both clubs will be Championship clubs next season, and in that case Leicester become far more attractive because of their rich owners willing to pump money in.

I haven't said that Kean is getting a new contract, I genuinely don't know if this rumour is true. This is something that Glen Mullan has been told and he posted it earlier in this thread, and has been picked up by someone at the Daily Mail. It is interesting that the story has been credited to a "sportsmail reporter", I am reassured that Nick Harris (who is very close to Mrs D) hasn't written it or has written it and isn't confident about the story so has not put his name to it.

As I posted yesterday afternoon, everything that I am being told by people within the club and from contacts in Pune is pointing towards Kean NOT getting sacked at the moment. There are people within the club who want Kean out and they have made their feelings known to Mrs D, now it is upto her to take the next step. If Kean remains it will not be a surprise to me if one of the Hunt's leaves the club in the next few weeks.

The other factor that might play a part is the future of Martin O'Neil, Leicester are likely to make him their number one target to replace Sven. If there is any truth in the rumour that some of Venky's advisors want O'Neil as Rovers next manager then they could approach Mrs D again if it appears that O'Neil is open to a return to Leicester.

To conclude, quite a number of things have happened since Sunday but the fact remains that Kean is still our manager. How long has he got? that is impossible to predict, with Venky's absolutely anything is possible. If we lose to Newcastle on Wednesday could that have a bearing? Possibly, ditto against Norwich.

If they give him a new contract, whilst that would genuinely shock me, it will also confirm to me at least that all the stuff from Venky's about listening to fans etc. is simply total BS and it would for me the point where the relationship between the fans and the owners would become broken beyond repair.

O'Neil will want to get a other job in the premi league mate and please follow me on twitter,I using my brothers account as I am testing Twitter out last night I was following you on Twitter.

I think it would be a good move for him. Like the prodigal son returning. He'd have plenty of money to spend, and a team that's only going to go one way. Other than 'currently' being in the Premier League - I don't see what the attraction would be for him to come here Leicester.

Can't be true, all hell would break loose. They seriously couldn't be that stupid. (I know the evidence has mounted against them but this would be suicide)

Don't confuse news with speculation (accurate or not), we get all kinds of grief for that.
