tugay5 Posted October 25, 2011 Posted October 25, 2011 Well yes it does, and as others who I spoke to yesterday will vouch for there is a very big reason why the contact was made, (Spoke to Kamy yesterday about it) , Just thought I'd post it on here, wish I had not bothered now Glenn I personally really Apprechiate what you have done for the fans and your updates on here and twitter so please continue to do so. Can u elaborate anymore on the investors? Are they looking to buy venkys out and if so are venkys likely to sell having all this pr work they did in India last week?

Backroom DE. Posted October 25, 2011 Backroom Posted October 25, 2011 It would without question be in Venky's best interests to sell, for numerous reasons. They clearly don't understand football, they're perilously close to the point of no return in regards to the fans, they don't have the money to compete in this league (or the desire to spend any money to do so, despite their 'promises'), and they will never succeed in their plan to make Rovers "India's team" IMO. If they can sell and either break even or make a profit they should jump at the chance before they are saddled with a Championship club they have ruined to the point where nobody is interested anymore. Unfortunately, Glen probably isn't talking about somebody wanting to buy the Raos out. I think we're stuck with them.
PAFELL Posted October 25, 2011 Posted October 25, 2011 I don't mind giving my number out, its all over the place on the net anyway, due to organising protest ect. I'm an open Rovers fan, and have time for everyone who shares the same passion about the club Ignore the snipers, they are just idiots. Keep going.
winstonsmith Posted October 25, 2011 Posted October 25, 2011 A line from the LT - Caroline Silk to be appointed financial director So the major announcement is that Caroline (or Karen) Silk is to be appointed Financial Director (or probably Deputy Financial Director) ? Phew ! - and there's me thinking it would be some sort of anti-climax !
Pedro Posted October 25, 2011 Posted October 25, 2011 For every person that gives you grief Glen, there are many more that are interested in and very grateful for the info that you share and all you are doing. I'm really grateful for good info too and wouldn't want anyone to hold back. I'm personally very cynical though at any fan or stranger etc. who gives out teasing snippets of info. Too often rumours on the boards or Twitter etc. result in only a low percentage ever coming true. It reminds me of the same tactics used by fortune tellers, psychics and newspaper reporters! I take them all with a pinch of salt and unfortunately for me, the bad sources of info hampers the the very good so I don't hang on rumours anymore.
EgyptianPete Posted October 25, 2011 Posted October 25, 2011 Ladies and Gentlemen, Not only does he organise marches and protests to try and remove of Steve Kean. But he also offers you his phone number for unlimited prank calling for an easy laugh when you accidentally glance at the league table. Glen9Mullan, Mr Blackburn Rovers. Chill out, Glen has his heart and soul in the rovers, being bitchy is unbecoming
Kelbo Posted October 25, 2011 Posted October 25, 2011 From my part, my admiration for Glen continues to grow, the hard work, effort and dedication to our football club knows no bounds, you are twice the man I am mate, congratulations and well done, you have my greatest respect.
J*B Posted October 25, 2011 Posted October 25, 2011 Chill out, Glen has his heart and soul in the rovers, being bitchy is unbecoming Clearly the sarcasm was wasted, I've got plenty of time for Glenn, if you looked back a few pages you'll have seen I was on the protest. I'll avoid any sort of positivity/humour in future, can you please link me to the application form for team doom and gloom?
Mercer Posted October 25, 2011 Posted October 25, 2011 Stuff on Twitter stating that Kean refusing to comment on rumours about a new contract. That sounds like bad news to me from our perspective.
hesfromburn Posted October 25, 2011 Posted October 25, 2011 Id say good news. If he had got a simple extended contract the smug fool would me screaming from the rooftop. *sing canary sing*
BangkokRover Posted October 25, 2011 Posted October 25, 2011 Stuff on Twitter stating that Kean refusing to comment on rumours about a new contract. That sounds like bad news to me from our perspective. I am looking forward to the Roas giving Kean his new contract on the pitch before the Chelsea game.
PAFELL Posted October 25, 2011 Posted October 25, 2011 Stuff on Twitter stating that Kean refusing to comment on rumours about a new contract. That sounds like bad news to me from our perspective. No I think he may not want comment because it is not a contract to be the manager.
BuckyRover Posted October 25, 2011 Posted October 25, 2011 Id say good news. If he had got a simple extended contract the smug fool would me screaming from the rooftop. *sing canary sing* My thoughts exactly. He would have rung Sky before the ink had dried.
Emge Posted October 25, 2011 Posted October 25, 2011 Like when he was charged after drink'n'drive, he refused to comment on that, because he was embarassed. This could be similar. Lets hope so! KEAN OUT! KEAN OUT!
John Posted October 25, 2011 Posted October 25, 2011 Think Kean has just done his pre match press conference as team news has been relased to PA.
Wendal Posted October 25, 2011 Posted October 25, 2011 My thoughts exactly. He would have rung Sky before the ink had dried. If he was offered a new contract in a different position I doubt he would be taking press conferences and preparing for games....
phildinio Posted October 25, 2011 Posted October 25, 2011 i think after norwich game it will happen as its near end of month so it will go through in a week imo so its act all normal till then, and we look for manager in mean time
pedebumchin Posted October 25, 2011 Posted October 25, 2011 If he was offered a new contract in a different position I doubt he would be taking press conferences and preparing for games.... Kean might be deluded but he isn't stupid. He knows that if he announced the new contract before it was all signed and sealed there would be uproar - especially if it was for the managers job... I despair with all of this at the moment. We are making the Portsmouth situation look like a positive experience for the fans. I fear this is only the start of the mess we are getting into.
King Kenny's Magic Posted October 25, 2011 Posted October 25, 2011 What time is the announcement, anybody know?
ABBEY Posted October 25, 2011 Posted October 25, 2011 What time is the announcement, anybody know? meanwhile in venky land
rovers-baz Posted October 25, 2011 Posted October 25, 2011 CryerRoversAndrew Cryer Steve wanted to clarify what was said because he felt headline was misleading. As story said he said I am not paying attention to protesters sounds like a lot of back tracking taking place

Unfortunately, Glen probably isn't talking about somebody wanting to buy the Raos out. I think we're stuck with them. We will not stuck with them any more than Portsmouth were stuck with their owners If you think about it. The owners would get a few million from selling players, plus the parachute payment from the Premier league (When we are relegated, as we will be with Kean in charge) These two lots of cash will more than cover their investments. They take the money and then put the club into administration and walk away. Who else might benefit from this arrangement, you take a guess.
eire3382 Posted October 25, 2011 Posted October 25, 2011 On the Kean contract issue no news is good news, as with an ego like his the entire football world would know. Inparticular he would rub it in the fans faces.
sijoco Posted October 25, 2011 Posted October 25, 2011 We will not stuck with them any more than Portsmouth were stuck with their owners If you think about it. The owners would get a few million from selling players, plus the parachute payment from the Premier league (When we are relegated, as we will be with Kean in charge) I'm sure l've read somewhere that there are rules in place to stop owners stripping the club of it's assets and keeping the parachute payments for the Venky's pot should they sell up?
Kamy100 Posted October 25, 2011 Posted October 25, 2011 Knowing the way Kean operates and his comments over the last few months, if he had been offered a contract extension he wouldn't have ducked the question at today's presser. The no comment to me suggests that he hasn't been offered it (or maybe just wishful thinking on my part).
