Pal of mine has just phoned from the hospitality boxes at Ewood and claims officials have advised the plane has been stopped !!!!!

Is this true ?

If true, will only heighten the hate and anger directed at Venky's.

Joey and Miker make very good points. The situation gets tougher to call by the week! The team are playing much better and the 'fortunate' injury to Salgado has allowed us to steady the right back position with a very promising player in Lowe. Ollson (albeit not the best fullback in the prem), has added that vital pace at the back, which has taken Givet back to his natural position. We look far more secure at the back. IMO we are playing good football going forward with great vision with Junior, Formica and Rochina. The problems facing the club are much more worrying, do the Venky's have a secret agenda? Their nieve partership with Anderson and Co. Their ludicrous promises of big names. The fact they are based so far away. The fact we have lost the backbone of the club (Williams, Finn and Co.). So, team showing signs of improvement, club going in a direction that is very worrying.

I imagine it would be very hard to stop it at this late stage, they can't block off the sky

The airspace over Ewood is not controlled by the club.

The plane could only be stopped if the Police directed Air Traffic Control to divert the plane away but even then they would probably need a Magistrate's order as well just to be on the safe side.

The fans have rights too.

At this stage, I'd say it is at least as likely to be another Agnew fantasy as the Rovers having found a way to block it.

A lot of those issues happened in the past, but I think a lot of things were also wildly exaggerated by the media. They made a couple of bad mistakes at the start of their reign and it just created a snowball effect. It's sometimes hard to separate what information came directly from Venky's, from Kean, from messageboard rumours or from media gossip.

My opinion of Venky's is positive based on numerous observations, which I might post at a later date. They are a company that is about to start a massive global investment operation to open up their Venky's Xprs stores all over the world. They will NOT want Blackburn to go under or even get relegated as it would be a massive setback for them. It's not a dodgy investment firm, it's a family run business that is well-known and respected in India.

They might be using the club to further their own company's agenda, but the belief that they plan to destroy the club in the process is misplaced IMO.

I do hope they 'tie in' with some better advisors. IMO, their nievity has been there achilles heel. We need a backer to compete, but I read the post's by some folk and can't help but be concerned. Particularly the financial dealings (which I don't fully understand) recently highlighted, such as the mortgaging of future television money. There is a great deal of speculation and not enough facts at the moment, which automatically causes me to worry.

Interesting stuff miker.

What they want re Rovers and what they are achieving are diametrically opposed to each other.

How long do you think it will take for them to realise that?

As things stand, apart from the financial engineering, their Blackburn venture is a catastrophic failure.

Well, what's to say they haven't realised it already? The issue is, even if they have, what do they do to salvage it?

The main demands of the protests have been to sack Steve Kean and to open up better communications with the fans. But I suspect that sacking Steve Kean is not as black & white a decision as it might seem and Venky's might feel that their club statements, press interviews and all-expense paid trip for the fans forum should be enough communication with the fans. It seems like no matter what they do, they can't do anything right by the fans. Even the appointment of Paul Clement, which seems like a great move, has now been marred by his little spate with a group of fans.

Got in the ground early today, full body searches (from a Bolton steward), I asked why all the security?

'Looking for banners'

Welcome to the totalitarian oblast of Ewood Park.

Must be profiling Matty. No problems getting in Riverside.

Do you look 'dodgy'?

No I am not talking about fans' protest which is utterly irrelevant in terms of running Blackburn Rovers Football and Athletic Club plc.

I am talking the hard headed reality of running a £60m busines in the UK sports industry which they seem technically and tempramentally utterly incapable of getting even the slightest and most basic thing right.

As a business analyst, surely you can see they have made the most complete and utter horlicks of it.

Your point about what the Venky's might consider to be sufficient communications suggests they know absolutely zilch about their customers and that their marketing intelligence has failed 100%.

That is an incredible statement!

Venkys have essentially done this:

Walked right into your house, set it on fire and whilst you are watching it burn they tell you not to worry. As the structure is beginning to fall, they take your neighbours and friends on holiday to discuss how to deal with your housefire.

No matter what they do....give me a break.

Completely agree and I'm not suggesting otherwise. I'm not sure if I'd use the words "utterly incapable", but they've certainly not given much indication that they are capable so far.

I wasn't saying that what they're doing is necessarily smart or correct, but everything they've tried in order to get the fans back on side or repair their relationship with the fanbase has exploded right back in their face.

I can only go by the evidence of their first 351 days.

On that basis, "utterly incapable" is probably a generous assessment.
