Playing BF3 on PS3 but play BF2 on X-box as well - gamertag is Jarvefromossy on both consoles. Cannot for the life of me fly the jets or helicopters yet, but if you team up with a decent heli pilot providing your reasonable on a gun you can rake the points in.

It depends which mode you are playing, I only ever play Conquest which requires you to be cautious in order to get points attacking/defending the objectives, the same applies in Rush with the M COM stations. The deathmatch games are a lot more CODesque with no objectives to attack or defend, but it's a crap mode so I never bother with it.

I love conquest, especially as assault with the defib, loads of points for neutralizing then getting the flags, then points for kills and revives, and also defending the flags.

Not impressed at all with this expansion pack, Conquest is crap because you occasionally get chucked onto a different type of game where you start with either all or none of the flags and you have to attack or defend, I don't care if it was a feature on BF2 it's crap.

Also on this mode the maps are smaller and there's less vehicles so like a couple of the BF3 maps you struggle to get into one, If I wanted to play infantry all the time I'd have bought MW3. Also the F35 jets are awful to control and you don't last 2 minutes against the vastly superior Russian Jets on the Gulf of Oman map.

Does anyone else find the aircraft overpowered? The IR flares mean that it takes at least three Stingers to take one down ('cos they're not one hit kill weapons like in real life). It's a little game breaking at times.

I'm yet to figure out how to use flares, which button is it?

L1 on the PS3, although you've got to unlock them first.

Once you get an attack helicopter with the stealth upgrade the game is simply broken. You can't shoot them down.

Is this game more suited to snipers than MW3? or is there nowhere to hide?

Some maps are good for sniping, but some are also not. Personally I cannot do it/stand it

It's bad for sniping, Hughsey. They've added a silly 'glare' to rifle scopes which means you can't hide anywhere and snipe. It basically puts a spotlight on you if you're carrying a sniper rifle. Everyone knows where you are.

Vehicles, bigger maps, more rewarding (this is comparing it to MW2 which I've heard is exactly the same). It's not as good as Bad Company 2 but I'd still get it over a COD game.
