Commondore
Neither the club no the fans seems that interested in going on longer cup runs, but even with lesser than usual attendances, wouldn't one or two "unexpected" home games bring a fair bit of revenue to the club? Or are these number so low that it doesn't really matter? I guess what I'm asking is how much money Rovers earn (netto) on a home game?

Paul
10,000 fans x £20 = £200,000 probably a month's wages for most players. So the money is largely irrelevant once all the operating overheads are removed - stewards, general staff, ticketing, electricity etc.. etc. TV revenue is what counts. 3rdpillar
I'll have some of that "largely irrelevant" money please. Why do clubs not offer FREE entry then!
jimlav
I'll have some of that "largely irrelevant" money please. Why do clubs not offer FREE entry then! because then everybody would turn up to the ground, sky wouldn't have any viewers at home, and therefore wouldn't want to show football on sky any more. its a nice little earner for the club no doubt, but the real money is in TV

Kelbo
In cup matches, the gate is split into 3 after expenses such as officials, away team travel exps. gatemen etc etc 1/3 each to the clubs and 1/3 to the FA, so with a 10,000 gate at £20.00 would be £200,000 divided by 3 = £66.666 before expenses, so my guess is that we would get £50k tops
