chris
Dann is back. What would you do if you were Kean? keep Givet there or move him to left back and bring Dann back. Keep in mind you lose Olsson on the left wing. I'll suggest that Givet is a better CB.

Moderation Lead K-Hod Posted October 28, 2011 Moderation Lead Share Posted October 28, 2011 We've got enough wingers/attackers and Olsson can always overlap. As far as I'm concerned, our strongest back 4 is the one we had against Newcastle on Wednesday. Lowe needs to stay at RB as well.
Amo
I'd play Givet just to get some consistency in the side. But it all depends what names Kean pulls from his hat.
hesfromburn
Id say givet for now, shown more for me. Putting them both in wont work as having 5 at the back against the barcodes is what gave them the space when we should have kept our shape. I think we should be: gk: robinson rb: lowe cb: samba cb: givet lb : olsson md: n'zonzi md: gamst I think yakubu should be the striker. Not sure about other 3 because we get the best from formica and rochina when they are played in the hole, but we could do with them both as well as hoilett because of their passing and control. Ricky
I personally would stick with Givet, he looks like a square peg at left back. He isn't comfortable there. For that reason in my opinion you either drop him for Dann or you leave Dann on the bencg. It may not be an issue anyway as I'm sure there was some talk of Givet being injured in the Newcastle game so he may well be rested anyway. Dann is a very good player. He's just coming back from a fairly lengthy spell out through injury and will take a number of games to get back to his best. I don't think Kean can really be slated for whichever one he chooses to play, however I feel he should leave Ollson at left back.

joey_big_nose
Givet needs to stay at CB and Olsson at LB. Olsson's defending is suspect (VDV first goal forSpurs came directly from Olsson being caught up field) but then so is Givet's who has had three absolute nightmares against pacey wingers. Losing Olsson from midfield shouldn't be such a blow because we are trying to find places for Vukcevic, Formica and Rochina as it is.

JAL
Kean said that Givet had tweaked his hamstring in the carling cup game, so dont expect to see Givet at Norwich I'd have thought.
Muddboy
Given his recent form, Givet for me. Was outstanding against Newcastle! Okay, we lose Olsson as a left winger but I'd like to see Simon play there. Naturally left footed and shown some glimpses of real talent.

Backroom DE. Posted October 28, 2011 Backroom Share Posted October 28, 2011 Can't Dann play on the right? He may not be perfect for the role but I'd rather see Dann-Samba-Givet-Olsson than Salgado/Lowe-Samba-Givet/Dann-Olsson.
LeChuck
Can't Dann play on the right? I don't think he's ever played there. He doesn't have any qualities you'd expect from a full back either. Givet over Dann every time for me. Givet's a much more natural partner to Samba, and gives good balance being the left sided centre back.
Torgeir
Givet, if fully fit. I don't think it's what's important, it's how we defend as a unit rather than who starts of the two. I think both would struggle with Holt in the air anyway.

I was told by a Birmingham fan when he joined that he'd played on the right for them before, if he never has then so be it. Keef did OK at right back so I can't imagine Dann would struggle too much. He certainly couldn't be much worse than Salgado.

eire3382
It doesn't really matter which one makes the most sense. Kean is on record as saying the squad is better (or worth more or some such rubbish) now than it was when he got the job. So Dann as his most expensive signing has to start. He has to sell his bull to the owners remember.
Grez
Would it be worth trying Dann in place of petrovic?
