Andy Posted November 5, 2011 Posted November 5, 2011 It doesn't matter how we played if we're not picking up points. I'd rather we were completely outplayed for 90 minutes against Chelsea, but picked up a sly 1-0 win, than play decently and still lose. This is what I never got about the anti-Sams - they complained about the style of play, but football is about winning, not how you play. Under Kean we just cannot win.

T4E Posted November 5, 2011 Posted November 5, 2011 BBC 1701: The majority of home fans at Ewood Park have remained behind, by the way, to launch a protest against both boss Steve Kean and owners Venky's, by the look of things. Hhmm. Majority? Interesting.
Backroom DE. Posted November 5, 2011 Backroom Posted November 5, 2011 I can't even count the number of times people have said "if we play like that every week we'll be fine" in the time Kean has been with us. The fact is we don't play like that all the time and even when we do we don't win (see: Everton, Norwich, today). We're not going to be fine - we're going to be relegated.
RibbleValleyRover Posted November 5, 2011 Posted November 5, 2011 I wonder what those who think everything is rosy and want to give the manager more time now think? Another loss added to the column and our task made that little bit harder to get the points required to survive. But I guess results don't matter, we didn't play that badly? And like Kean says all that matters is increasing the value of the players in his squad, not points. If we don't win the next two games I think our season is done and we will be playing Championship football next season. Kean has never won two games in a row in the league so the chances of that suddenly happening look extremely slim indeed.
USABlue Posted November 5, 2011 Posted November 5, 2011 Thought young Hoillett was poor today, too depressed to write much more.

Hhmm. The fact that's the majority of the fans is encouraging. However, the fact that it's after the match means that Kean can hide away in the dressing room before shooting off into his taxi, rather than having to face the fans he's quite clearly and intentionally been winding up with his recent stupid comments.

Rovers_Dan Posted November 5, 2011 Posted November 5, 2011 now all the decent teams are out the way bar manure. lets see what happens now, ill give kean the wigan game and thats it. that is a MUST win now.
adopted scouser Posted November 5, 2011 Posted November 5, 2011 **puts tin hat on, shin pads and stab vest** Talkshyyte said we played well, and pulled together when it should have been routine for Chelsea ?

I wasn't being serious with my comments - if it wasn't already, our situation is nearly critical. Let's hope Venkys don't gamble with the future of the club all in the name of their lover boy Kean. The damage could already be done though.
AlanK Posted November 5, 2011 Posted November 5, 2011 Playing bad and winning is good. Playing good and losing is bad. Get Kean Out

Do you really think we could have defended better today? Look at the talent they had on the field,The defence did well. Sam is ANTI FOOTBALL. it was 1-0 not 5.We could have been leading in the first half if the yak would have converted formicas cross ,hanleys miss ect.
John Posted November 5, 2011 Posted November 5, 2011 Problem is we are not going to "play well" every game, we've shown nothing, under Kean, to suggest we can dig in and win games.

I was responding more to pick32's comments John, I assumed you weren't being serious! I'm tired of hearing how we were "unlucky" etc. It's gone past the stage where luck matters - it's all about results and Kean is not getting them. Our home record is absolutely horrific this season, we won't stay up by losing this often at home - Chelsea or not.

Sam is ANTI FOOTBALL. it was 1-0 not 5.We could have been leading in the first half if the yak would have converted formicas cross ,hanleys miss ect. Well, yes - their goal was due to a) Hoilett not bothering to even attempt a tackle on the crosser and Nzonzi not bother to track Lampard. If either man had defended better, we probably wouldn't have conceded. Sam was far from anti-football, but more importantly he's a winner and puts winning above performance. Kean is not a winner and had proven incapable of being able to scrape enough points together to keep us in this league. For this reason, he must go. Like, now.

rebelmswar Posted November 5, 2011 Posted November 5, 2011 Team played well today, if we had a manager they would be fantastic.
Rovers_Dan Posted November 5, 2011 Posted November 5, 2011 thought givet was awesome again today by the way.
broadsword Posted November 5, 2011 Posted November 5, 2011 But we're only slightly off-course for tenth. Expect European football in 4 years.

So momentary lapses in defence never happened under the tactical master sam did they. The difference is sam might have worked through the mistakes on the training pitch so as to try not to make the same mistake again. This is a good squad, we can actually play football against the top teams now instead of smash, bang, wallop footy, and still end up losing by 1 or 2 goals ,were not getting exactly carved open now are we?

BuckyRover Posted November 5, 2011 Posted November 5, 2011 Mark Lawrenson speaking on 5 live, on the handball that wasn't at Old Trafford: "The decision in the first place was completely wrong. At least the referee overturned his assistant's decision." And on events at Ewood Park: "Why are all those numpties chanting 'Kean Out'? Today their team played quite well. The chanting just strikes you as extremely pre-meditated. Blackburn could have got something from the game."
Backroom DE. Posted November 5, 2011 Backroom Posted November 5, 2011 Lawro's back to his usual know-nothing, piece of sh-t self: "Why are all those numpties chanting 'Kean Out'? Of course it's pre-meditated you stupid bellend, it's a pre-planned protest?!
