roverandout Posted October 31, 2011 Posted October 31, 2011 a game similar to the one when they played bolton, chelsea get an early goal and captain genius sends rovers all out to try and get an equalizer as chelsea pick us off one by one with gaping holes at the back, rovers 0 chelsea 4.

chris Posted October 31, 2011 Posted October 31, 2011 I can not bare losing and then Kean coming out like we are midtable and playing well and unlucky. I hope we win and play well, I think we will lose though, we are weaker then Chelsea. I'm not really bothered about playing well and losing. If we lose, let it be so Kean is sacked and the fans can protest, this unlucky crap, well we used up all out luck against Fulham and Arsenal. So it evens itself out. I m nervous about the game, just can't see us winning it.
SAS Posted October 31, 2011 Posted October 31, 2011 Both teams cant defend but can score. 4-2 to chelski
DavidMailsTightPerm Posted October 31, 2011 Posted October 31, 2011 The recent good performances have made me optimistic for the match - so we are bound to get beat with a disappointing performance. I just hope the owners recognise that we can't keep chipping away with the odd point here and there. A comprehensive defeat should see him replaced. If he gets a result - and another good performance - then I would expect them to persist with Kean (not saying I agree - just the reality of the situation). We have looked more of a team over the last few matches - not sure if it is the new coach or not. Still Kean has a very long way to go to correct his previous mistakes - and poor record - which even though we have had some good performances hasn't actually improved in terms of points return. Personally I hope he turns it around - mainly because I don't think the owners will replace him quick enough to safe us from relegation if we go into total free fall. This weekend is another pivotal match - I just hope the owners realise this.
joey_big_nose Posted October 31, 2011 Posted October 31, 2011 Rather unsurprisingly it should be everyone behind the ball for this one and just pray for something on the break. I would also play Roberts as he covers ground and Terry hates playing against him. Bring Yak on second half. Team something like:- Robinson Lowe Samba Givet Olsson Nzonzi Rochina Petrovic Pedersen Hoilett Roberts If we work as hard , and keep the discipline, as we have in the last three games we have a small chance.
colin Posted October 31, 2011 Posted October 31, 2011 On the conkers scoring theory: We beat Arsenal 4 - 3; Arsenal beat Chelsea 5 - 3 We therefore beat Chelsea 9 - 6 OK let's scale it down to 3 - 1 I'm just off to investigate the elves in the attic now, they are knawing the insulation in the electric. I've been told tht it's probably rats or squirrels, but I think it's probably the elves. Looking forward to the 3 - 1 on Saturday.
Majiball Posted October 31, 2011 Posted October 31, 2011 Colin, if you find the elves ask them if they can get hold of some pixie dust. We'll need it on Saturday.
BuckyRover Posted October 31, 2011 Posted October 31, 2011 Colin, if you find the elves ask them if they can get hold of some pixie dust. We'll need it on Saturday. He's already taken it by the sound of things

That's not an everybody behind the ball team Joey, that's our problem !
Sparky Marky Posted October 31, 2011 Posted October 31, 2011 The recent good performances have made me optimistic for the match - so we are bound to get beat with a disappointing performance. Recent good performances ? We've let in 6 in our last two games. Wtf?
steverovers Posted November 1, 2011 Posted November 1, 2011 2-2 draw for me - Kean hangs on for longer
Myles Anderson Posted November 1, 2011 Posted November 1, 2011 2-2 draw for me - Kean hangs on for longer 5-0 defeat for me - Kean hangs on for longer
BangkokRover Posted November 1, 2011 Author Posted November 1, 2011 My preview is now up, sorry been busy dealing with floods and lack of internet here in Bangkok
Clitherover Posted November 1, 2011 Posted November 1, 2011 I can't see how Kean can not be sacked after this game, it's a must win game that we are pretty much guaranteed to lose. He pee'd on his chips for the last time against Norwich. Our winnable fixtures begin two weeks after this game against Wigan, a decent enough gap to get a proper manager settled into the club.
sharpysharps Posted November 1, 2011 Posted November 1, 2011 I'm going for Rovers 1 - 3 Chelsea. Chelsea will just be too strong. Rochina or Formica against the likes of Terry and Ivanovic is a bit of a no contest. I sense Rovers will play admirably but once Chelsea get a hold of the game it will become a bit like the Man City game. I don't think this is the game that will see Steve Kean lose his job though because I actually think Rovers will play ok and while that is happening there will always be belief from Kean and the owners that the corner can be turned.

Would that not make it 3-2 to Rovers (3 going into 9 3 times and 3 goes into 6 twice)!!!

He pee'd on his chips for the last time against Norwich. Our winnable fixtures begin two weeks after this game against Wigan, a decent enough gap to get a proper manager settled into the club. This for me is the ultimate conundrum, when BFS was sacked Kean had a run of very easy game which we got nearly zero from. I am sure he will still be there after the defeat of Chelsea as he will have told every one we are not competing against Chelsea. But our next games of Wigan, Stoke and Swansea are winnable. Of course when this does not happen we are doomed.
mhead Posted November 1, 2011 Posted November 1, 2011 Of course Keen will keep his job! Some of my fellow fans need a reality check. Incredible matches like QPR v Chelsea are very rare(self-inflicted defeat). The top 6 teams, including Spurs are like the Harlem Globetrotters now -so full of Foreign Stars plus a few Super-Stars, that the contests are not even. Put the early Season home defeats when we were injured/unlucky with the likes of playing Spurs,Man City and Chelsea at home and you have a plausible case for the defence....or at least a defence to those in India. The Prosecution now says we cannot risk Kean in charge when we have a number of winnable games in late November, December and January. Realistically as usual Wigan Away is the game to be at -win it and he's safe for the Season, lose it and he has to be a goner. And in Wigan the fans are probably saying just the same. When do the tickets go on sale?
Clitherover Posted November 1, 2011 Posted November 1, 2011 And in Wigan the fans are probably saying just the same. When do the tickets go on sale? Not sure but let me know when you find out, I'm off to that one.
philipl Posted November 1, 2011 Posted November 1, 2011 Both clubs are finding defending is a touch difficult these days. Chelsea will be coming to Ewood with more injuries and suspensions and out of form players than usual so this is going to be one of our best ever chances of getting a positive result. Likely to be an end to end cracker if Chelsea don't steam roller us with a flying start. So smallish crowd (22k tops), no Venky's present and Rovers fans to get very restive if we conceed early and often. A high scoring narrow defeat might be on the cards here: 2-3 or 3-4
Backroom trueblue Posted November 1, 2011 Backroom Posted November 1, 2011 Injury ravaged, suspensions and even players on holiday will not stop Chelski ripping us apart.. I feel this will be another drubbing we suffer (I've lost all confidence in how Kean sets us up to play) 0-4 for me
philipl Posted November 1, 2011 Posted November 1, 2011 Chelski were no great shakes in Genk tonight.
Lilgaz Posted November 1, 2011 Posted November 1, 2011 Chelski were no great shakes in Genk tonight. We've been no great shakes under Kean's tenure . Chelsea will be miles too strong for us.
jonv Posted November 2, 2011 Posted November 2, 2011 We've been no great shakes under Kean's tenure . Chelsea will be miles too strong for us. In all honesty we've looked far more assuring against opposition in the past three games than Chelsea have. Unfortunately for us, our ability to shut up shop and close out games has been missing. We've been exciting going forward but shockingly amateur in the back-line. Considering the quality we have available, this shouldn't be the case. I think Chelski will be a lot closer than many anticipate - but I can't see us scoring the four goals required to win the game.
AllRoverAsia Posted November 2, 2011 Posted November 2, 2011 I want Kean out and my dislike for the Raos grows by the day with the ''Banner Ban'' being their latest fiasco but come Saturday I'll want Rovers to play well and win - yes win! Rock and a hard place.
