roverandout Posted November 19, 2011 Posted November 19, 2011 i hope noone says dunn's sending off was the turning point because THAT goal was the turning point, no time for cheats, if i was wigan i would put a complaint into the premierleague and ask them to chalk that goal off, clearly it was against the rulebook.

Mercer Posted November 19, 2011 Posted November 19, 2011 Just seen a smirking Kean interview on Sky, on about the minority again. I just want to throw-up.
perthblue02 Posted November 19, 2011 Posted November 19, 2011 Just seen a smirking Kean interview on Sky, on about the minority again. I just want to throw-up. He's not doing another lap of honour is he about the brazillianesque display against an in form Wigan team?
imy9 Posted November 19, 2011 Posted November 19, 2011 We have had some absolute shocking decisions go against us, the 2 handballs cost us 3 points so I don't really care about the dodgy decision we got today. On the issue of the back 4 we have looked steadier recently but it clearly does not help that we have changed the back 4 on how many occasions this season? We then have players coming back from injury in Dann and Salgado too. No excuses but this team with the right manager can keep clean sheets.
martypellowe Posted November 19, 2011 Posted November 19, 2011 How can he talk of a minority? I was watching online and I couldn't even hear the Wigan fans for the sound of ours chanting "Kean Out" And remember, the away fans were the "real" fans according to his recent interview. So with that logic, Rovers' "real" fans are now the minority? Mind boggling
Bluefudge Posted November 19, 2011 Posted November 19, 2011 As far as I am concerned yes you are. Unfortunately Coco plays him out of position on the wing. So you agree then. Im not saying he is a bad player, but we are a man down before we start playing him as we do!!
Kelbo Posted November 19, 2011 Posted November 19, 2011 Interstiing bit about corners here, A trick corner was famously attempted during a tense top-of-the-table Premier League clash between Manchester United and Chelsea in the 2008–09 season, causing much controversy and media discussion. The strategy involved United's Wayne Rooney, standing at the corner flag, pretending to change his mind about taking the corner and signalling to winger Ryan Giggs to do it instead. While leaving the arc, however, Rooney sneakily touched the ball, effectively putting it into play. With Chelsea's defense unprepared and expecting a conventional corner, Giggs took the ball, sprinted with it towards goal and crossed it for teammate Cristiano Ronaldo to score with a header. On this occasion, the goal was immediately disallowed after the linesman, not having seen Rooney's taking of the corner, raised his flag, thus prompting the referee to stop play;
EWOODACE1 Posted November 19, 2011 Posted November 19, 2011 lucky not to be 5-1 down by half time. we were getting ripped to shreds far to easily. when dunn got sent off we actually played better, but for me dunn should never play in a rovers shirt again. after telling fans to get real he goes and does that. great fightback but it has to be said that kean got it all wrong today. salgado again was woeful and should also never be considered again

Blueboy Downunder Posted November 19, 2011 Posted November 19, 2011 Take off the blue and white tinted specs, if that had happened against us we would be going mental. The players know the rules when it comes to corners and it was a disgraceful bit of play. Wigan have every right to feel aggrieved. don't matter who does it, us or them, same thing does apply. you are right though, it would have been hard to take had it been against us. connor salmon standing right infront of robbo for one of their goals, was he not standing in an offside position and directly impeding the goaly?? if so, some would also say that is cheating.

Mind boggling I'm not an out and out Kean hater and I'm grateful for the point today but I must admit seeing him desperately trying to hold back smirks on SSN and AGAIN drawing reference to "the minority" I was hoping that Martinez would suddenly appear and deliver a textbook uppercut. I had a sinking feeling today when I was weighing up all of the fantastic managers who are out of work that we would only end up with some knob like Ruud Gullit anyway.

True, but Pedersen too a corner to himself
neophox Posted November 19, 2011 Posted November 19, 2011 Who cares about the trick from MGP and Yakubu! The referees job is to stop this and he allows it so its ok! Go on and get behind the players for gods sake. Very happy with point. Dunn can s-----> himself!! Nice to see young Henly coming on! Go rovers! And sack Kean!!
OJRovers Posted November 19, 2011 Posted November 19, 2011 Apparently Kean went over to the Rovers fans after the match and they cheered him?? It looked like he did a sarcastic fist pump to the away end, the response was a loud boo and a lot of expletives We were awful today Hoilet terrible Kean Out

Kelbo Posted November 19, 2011 Posted November 19, 2011 Clement or Kean, the corner was a clever ploy, obviously rehearsed and gained us a welcome and an unwelcome point, Welcome due to our league position and unwelcome because our numpty of a manager is still there, 1 win in 12!!!
John Howarth Posted November 19, 2011 Posted November 19, 2011 The one and only reason the goal was'nt disallowed is simply because he did'nt see the corner being taken, he had his back to Peds. Also, Rovers have realised that with the officials playing the UEFA strategy of right diagonals for referees, no official was near enough to actually see that Yakuba never touched the ball first. A clever bit of thinking by Pederson and Yakuba (even if it is not actually in the laws).
Amo Posted November 19, 2011 Posted November 19, 2011 This will be our last Premier League season for some time.
Backroom Tom Posted November 19, 2011 Backroom Posted November 19, 2011 Wow where to start. -First Half - as bad as I have seen Rovers play since Wigan away under Ince, seriously shocking. We didn't look set up to defend and had no shape no leadership and no idea -The red card changed the game, in our favour, we looked far better when the appalling pie boy went off, I hope he never plays for us again personally, what on earth was he thinking with the first one followed by a deliberate handball minutes later - Robbo was at fault for at least 2 of the goals but made up for it with the save and penalty - Hoilett looked totally uninterested in the first half - There was a nasty atmosphere around us today, saw a few get thrown out and a few fights nearly kick off - I missed goals 2 and 3 by going to the toilet and leaving in a sulk respectively ( I deserve that ha) At end of the day we really really needed 3 points today, both these teams will go down but I am still grateful for the point although sadly Kean had a ready made interview. Word is a member of this board (who shall rename anonymous unless he wants to step forward) had words with Balaji at half time
Kelbo Posted November 19, 2011 Posted November 19, 2011 Also, Rovers have realised that with the officials playing the UEFA strategy of right diagonals for referees, no official was near enough to actually see that Yakuba never touched the ball first. A clever bit of thinking by Pederson and Yakuba (even if it is not actually in the laws). I think you will find this was rehearsed! However, I think your info is wrong, at a corner kick and during the game, the liner normally takes the position by the left full back and the Ref the opposite side, I have seen refs downmarked for being on the same side of the pitch as the liner at corners!!
Backroom DE. Posted November 19, 2011 Backroom Posted November 19, 2011 Am surprised Kean didn't come out with "well we lost 4-3 at Wigan last season, and we got a point this season, so this shows we're progressing well" ...

Yeah, I'm not sure Dann or Salgado have/will steady our back 4. 27 goals against in only 12 matches. We are absolutely shipping the goals - even against weak sides.
RibbleValleyRover Posted November 19, 2011 Posted November 19, 2011 I think you will find this was rehearsed! Then it's poor sportsmanship if it was planned and not a spur of the moment thing.
