Majiball Posted November 10, 2011 Posted November 10, 2011 Old Trafford was a bad day at the office. All teams and all managers have them. Sam's opponents focus on ths match but fail to see the bigger picture of the gradual improvement year-on-year that he was achieving. Those "supporters" who wanted Sam out of Ewood and possibly influenced Venky's decision to sack him as has been suggested should hang their head in shame. If today's news is correct then people on here can finally stop blaming other fans for Sam's dismissal. If Kean has a new contract they obviously don't give two hoots what the fans think and merely took advantage of the situation. The blaming of other fans must stop as it's clear they have taken advantage of the situation given the new contract.
spencey7 Posted November 10, 2011 Posted November 10, 2011 Allardyce's pragmatism seemed to influence some limp performances against teams he may have believed we couldn't win against and I think that culminated in the embarrassment at Utd. Allardyce is a good manager who did well for us and his sacking, coming when it did, was ridiculous. That said, it's a bit much to say folk who wanted him out should hang their heads in shame. Some of the football we played was soul crushing and, whilst it was too much to expect champagne football, "supporters" were entitled to ask for better. Didn't you hear? To so many of the more "verbal" members on this board, the equations are thus: Excrutiating, embarassing, route one "football" = The only possible chance of survival in the Premier League. Any attempt to do otherwise = Next stop Conference. It's the same again and again from the Allardyce Brigade. Almost as boring and predictable as his football.
jim mk2 Posted November 10, 2011 Posted November 10, 2011 It's the same again and again from the Allardyce Brigade. Almost as boring and predictable as his football. Well lad, you wanted him out and you got your wish. Presumably you are also happy with the outcome.
thenodrog Posted November 10, 2011 Posted November 10, 2011 You struggle a bit with English, don't you? Bit silly that don't you think derick. Did you not consider before you posted your intended insult that from now on you will need to check every post you make with spellcheck, an Oxford English dictionary and a thesaurus?
toetoe Posted November 10, 2011 Posted November 10, 2011 the WHU Naysayers need to be careful what they wish for as our experience proves.. As THEIR experience prove as well. They were jubilant when Curbishley left(their best manager the last 20 years)because he wasn't young or portuguese enough, and they didn't score 3 goals in every match. Then they got Zola. Now they play Doncaster.
Mattyblue Posted November 10, 2011 Posted November 10, 2011 Didn't you hear? To so many of the more "verbal" members on this board, the equations are thus: Excrutiating, embarassing, route one "football" = The only possible chance of survival in the Premier League. Any attempt to do otherwise = Next stop Conference. It's the same again and again from the Allardyce Brigade. Almost as boring and predictable as his football. Not at all, we COULD have had someone else to keep us comfortable, but as we already had someone, why take the risk? Stability is the key. Established as a top half outfit on a small budget= a very happy Mattyblue. Said manager was then sacked, not replaced and we have been hurtling downwards ever since= unhappy Mattyblue. Therefore the sacking was a mistake, so put a sock in the 'the sacking was fine, but the replacement wasn't' routine, you can't do the first action without the second, ergo the first action was a grave error.
den Posted November 10, 2011 Posted November 10, 2011 Matty, you're talking to some who didn't think it was possible to get someone worse than Allardyce. Waste of time.
FourLaneBlue Posted November 10, 2011 Posted November 10, 2011 This is tedious. It´s obvious that they would have sacked Sam whatever, even with support of all the fans, just so they could get their yes-man in place. Allardyce was not replaced for footballing reasons. That much is obvious.
