[Archived] Steve Kean signs new deal?

Recommended Posts

I have talked to Venky's this morning and they have denied that Kean has signed a new contract.

BUT

I don't believe them, a very decent source has told me that he has signed a new deal. Some people saying that the new deal will make it easier for Venky's to sack Kean, not true. There is no way that Kean will sign any deal that would make it easier for the owners to get rid of him.

Kean truly is the "unsackable" manager, there are many many reasons for this, none of them football related.

Maybe the reason Kean is unsackable is that the real owners are kentario and venkys are just a front. The ones who pull the strings at Rovers are the owners.

Kean will not be sacked as long as they are in charge. He is no doubt part of them. They do not care about the club so suggest you do what I am going to and stop going. Football has been on its @rse for a long long time but only until now has it avoided Rovers.

R.I.P

Maybe, just maybe people need to start posting information with PROOF rather than lots of rumours that have now been doing the rounds for 6 months, which so far have not been proved by anyone. No point causing mass hysteria – this place is bad enough as it is, with our current league position and the Owners not sacking Kean thus far.

I doubt this unsackable stuff is true.

Kean is as much a villan if not more then venkys, and the guy is a failure and lied in court.

He's the one that is rumoured to be involved in the sacing of Sam and is in driect contact with Venkys.

He has little credtability is low and probably the co villians are kentario.

Whats also important is after a week nobody will care what Kean has to say, it will be chip paper, Blackburn is not that interesting to the national press.

I think any man that can continually twist the facts and outright lie (didn't see plane, drink spiked) is reason enough to get rid.

However if we were top of the table I could ignore it because with football managers the only thing they should be judged on is points. But we're not so the lies for me are just the tip of the iceberg.

Venky's must really hate the fans whether he's signed a new contract or not. Shouldn't be in the job in the first place.

I understand that Kentaro/SEM might be our owners ; but how are they gaining anything by keeping Kean in charge?

I am struggling to see the bigger picture here and any reasons at all except cultural (not losing any face) that Kean is still in charge.

They are in it to make a quick buck, and asset strip

Kamy - I think it's time for those who claim to know things to bring their claims out into the open. Claims can be couched in such a way ie "we understand" (classic Sky) to prevent comeback.

I would much rather watch Rovers in League 2 run by people who are genuinely open, honest and always act with integrity and with the best interests of Rovers at heart.

On Twitter 2 hours ago:

roversinsiderBlackburn Rovers Spy: DM's...but I thank you for your efforts, has confirmed lots and rest assured I will blow this house down

I don't know how much credibility this guy (or gal) has but I just hope that it helps us get rid of Venky's & Kean who are, IMO, total poison and an absolute disgrace to a once great football club.

I'm just throwing this one our there because this contract extension makes no sense!

I don't know how much Pilkington sorry Kean is earning but as a rookie manager it can't be as much as other league managers, could he have had a clause written into his original contract with something along the lines of when he has seved x amount of time as manager his original wage is increased.

I don't know much about all this conspiracy stuff but if members on this forum are aware of it surely the Premier League and Journalists have had a whiff of it as well, is it just a case of finding a paper trail and then all will be revealed.

I knew you would pop up with a dig. Check back and you will see that my info is right a lot of the time. But you carry on believing that I know very little.

It's because of idiots like you that I have virtually stop posting what I know on these forums, not worth the hassle.

Some weeks ago there was a rumour about a new contract for Kean and Kean was asked about it by the UK press.

Kean said at that time that ''now was not the right time to discuss it'' or words to that effect. It is on some other thread on BRFCS but without searching can't recall which thread - there are so many similar re Kean.

The point is he did not dismiss the idea and indeed looked his usual rather smug self.

Perhaps the Owners proposed visit for the Chelsea game was to formally announce it? and perhaps the Rao's got cold feet and now Kean has spilt the beans to his mates at the Mirror to force their hand. What I'm suggesting is that the new 'contract' or 'deal' or whatever you want to call it is already agreed and done.

Some sort of announcement one way or the other has to come from Rovers toady now that the story is the the UK press.

What I personally really think is that all the senior Management and Advisors at Rovers and the Owners are a bunch of feckin shysters and do not have a clue on how to run Rovers. Their sum total is zero.

Shoot me down, but the best way to protest is not to attend to the games. Then Venky's see for themself that we don't support Kean and we don't support Venky's. But it also says we don't support the team anymore. Stand outside the ground and sing and chant. Iam speechless. If this is true, Iam finally finished with my support of the team. Atleast to the mongoes are gone.

Now then Kamy you appear to have stopped in full flow. You have surely had enough time to answer the phone, take the kettle off the stove or answer the call of nature by now. Please continue.

If its true and the PL just want to see us go down because its then, not their problem,

Don't you worry it's true. The PL will never investigate ANY club as the financial implications are far, far too great. It's not because we are Blackburn Rovers it would apply to any club UNLESS the media put out proof that was so damning the PL had no choice. If Rovers go down end of problem.

It is inconceivable the PL are unaware of the issues at Ewood. Our previous management was well connected and highly respected. Does anyone seriously believe there have been no private, off the record discussions?

Now consider what the ultimate interest of the media is and where enormous sums of money are earnt. It how journalists switch their views do quickly?

I don't think protesting at games, not going to games is having any effect on the owners. Being in India they are sheltered from most of this. I think that the only way to apply any sort of pressure would be through the Indian media which will impact their brand image in markets that they trade in, but unfortunately Indian media aren't really interested in Rovers.

I agree, let my guard down when I posted this morning but won't happen again.

What about if he gets a bigger wage, and perhaps a bonus if we stay in the Premier League...but at the same time having a clause that makes it easier for Venky's to remove him if things don't turn round?

If Steve Kean really is as positive about things as he appears then it's the sort of risk/reward deal that he would go for.

I'm just trying to claw a positive out of the situation. :(

...but, attacking the image of Indian companies abroad will get air time in India.

They don't like being seen as shonks and rip off merchants.

Hold up the image of Venkys, an Indian company with some stock in India, and ridiculing it will have an impact.

Just musing.... Any legal eagles know if the Championship actually have to take us or if they have a refusal clause to fall back on? If they haven't I'd imagine they wish they had.

I hope that you are right, but just at this moment the Indian media aren't taking any notice but I guess we haven't really seen large scale protests against Venky's.
