Hughesy Posted November 10, 2011 Posted November 10, 2011 Latest name linked - Few lines of info in here Juventus star Alessandro Del Piero has refused to rule out a shock move to Rovers before he retires. Rovers are among the clubs interested in landing the Italian striker when he leaves Juve at the end of the season. Del Piero, 37 yesterday, said: “I have to confess a secret. I love the Premier League. What a great league. Of course I would like to play there before retiring from football.”

Backroom DE. Posted November 10, 2011 Backroom Posted November 10, 2011 How does he feel about playing in the Championship?
A cup of beans Posted November 10, 2011 Posted November 10, 2011 would be an amazing signing. just to have him around the place! the word legend doesnt do him justice!
rebelmswar Posted November 10, 2011 Posted November 10, 2011 More smoke and mirrors from a bunch of lunatics that make David Copperfield look like Grandam pulling a sweet from Little Jimmy nose.
Rovers_786 Posted November 10, 2011 Posted November 10, 2011 it would be a big signing if he came here, but cant see it happening.

Emge Posted November 10, 2011 Posted November 10, 2011 Lol, why would Del Piero sign for Steve Keans Titanic-team?
PAFELL Posted November 10, 2011 Posted November 10, 2011 would be an amazing signing. just to have him around the place! the word legend doesnt do him justice! He is 37 years old, legs must of gone by now. Not fit enough for prem.
joey_big_nose Posted November 10, 2011 Posted November 10, 2011 I can see why he would come. He would get 60k a week probably. No one else would take him. But from Rovers point fo view what exactly would be the point? We have one talented player in that position as it is, in Vukcevic, who can't get a game. And also Rochina, Hoilett, Goodwillie and Formica who are all best in that role playing off a main striker. Not a player we need.
A cup of beans Posted November 10, 2011 Posted November 10, 2011 He is 37 years old, legs must of gone by now. Not fit enough for prem. disagree. he'd be a great impact player from the bench. dedicated professional and would have a great influence throughout the club. nothing to link him with rovers at the moment though!
Backroom Tom Posted November 10, 2011 Backroom Posted November 10, 2011 How I'd love this to happen, he could just walk on the pitch once and I'd be happy. Legend
gumboots Posted November 10, 2011 Posted November 10, 2011 How I'd love this to happen, he could just walk on the pitch once and I'd be happy. Legend I just love saying his name - for some reason the sound of it sends shivers up my spine
timflowers Posted November 10, 2011 Posted November 10, 2011 How I'd love this to happen, he could just walk on the pitch once and I'd be happy. Legend Agreed. One of my all time favourite players - won't come, of course...
Give 'Em the Axe Posted November 11, 2011 Posted November 11, 2011 Hahaha. Could you imagine it? Del Piero is one of the classiest players I've ever seen play, but I'd say there's as much chance of me signing for BRFC as the great man.
Rovers_Dan Posted November 11, 2011 Posted November 11, 2011 complete waste of time, way too old for the pace of the premier league. what kind of wages would this guy want too? tell you what, lets renew our interest in christian vieri also and have the oldest free transfer pairing in the league.
LeChuck Posted November 11, 2011 Posted November 11, 2011 His legs aren't up to playing in Serie A any longer, never mind the Premier League. It would be just like when Roberto Mancini turned up at Leicester aged 36; totally and utterly pointless and of no benefit to the club.
BPF Posted November 11, 2011 Posted November 11, 2011 disagree. he'd be a great impact player from the bench. dedicated professional and would have a great influence throughout the club. nothing to link him with rovers at the moment though! No he wouldn't. Might as well get Pele and Baggio in the squad if we are trying to collect former legends. Nostalgia is dangerous in football.
SAS Posted November 11, 2011 Posted November 11, 2011 He'd be a great signing on champ manager 2003 but not now..
he6rt6gr6m Posted November 19, 2011 Posted November 19, 2011 Amazing how many people pass judgement on someone without actually watching them play.
AJW Posted November 19, 2011 Posted November 19, 2011 roberto Policano will probably be able to give us a more accurate and honest assessment of him..... overt to you bobby!!
