Blackburn Rovers joint owner Balaji Rao made a astonishing statement at the end of the Rovers recent visit to India and I quote “Steve Kean is a brilliant manager”.

Quite an astonishing statement to make, it might of got lost in translation but if not it should give all Rovers supporters extreme cause for concern.

Everyone with any knowledge of football knows Kean is NOT a brilliant manager. Steve Kean himself knows he is not a brilliant manager, few managers in the world would claim to be brilliant. Can anyone ever remember any football club owner or chairman publicly calling their “BRILLAINT” - NO neither can i.

What does this statement exactly mean, suggest or indicate?

Does it indicate that KEAN can carry on as Rovers manager regardless of results and performance’s?

Or does it mean all supporters can go to hell, our opinions are not welcome or wanted.

Or does it mean that BALAJI RAO has not a clue what he is talking about, is completely naive and out of his depth owning a premiership football club.

Or does it mean Rovers made a massive mistake sacking a “brilliant” manager in Sam Allardyce whose high profile and expertise would not only have kept Rovers in the premiership but also benefited the VENKY brand more than the phoney Steve Kean.

Or does it mean Balaji Rao is saying “we don’t give a stuff about Blackburn Rovers and we will continue to make stupid irresponsible statements whenever we want, regardless of alienating ourselves from everyone else because we own the club.

TAKE YOU’RE PICK, MAKE UP YOUR MIND.

Whatever the reason I see nothing but more trouble ahead for the Rovers under the ownership of these people.

My theory is the statement was made because the football division of the Venky’s empire ie Blackburn Rovers, has no money and they are not prepared to move money from another source of the business to the football side.

In other words they cannot afford to employ a top manager and everything it entails. Why the sacked a top manager, god only knows. A top man would on a three year contract with his own staff cost in the region of 10 million plus and want a transfer chest. Balaji Rao and his family are simply not prepared to invest that sort of money in the club.

They prefer Kean ON THE CHEAP. It is reported in the national press that to pay off Kean would cost in the region of 800 thousand pounds, cheap in premiership terms.

Sacking Allardyce and his staff cost them a reputed 6 million plus payoff, HOW STUPID WAS THAT? Valuable monies that could have gone towards signing new players.

I am now of the conclusion that the Rao family want all the benefits of a premiership club on the cheap. The kudos and priceless publicity the Venky brand are receiving without the paying the going rate, that is why we have a third rate manager on third rate pay. That is why many good back room staff have been let go including a brilliant youth coach and highly regarded talent scout. That is why no contract extension has yet been signed by Junior Hoilett, the terms are not good enough. He will sign a superficial contract and will go in January for BIG MONEY – you wait and see.

That is why Rovers have signed second rate players not good enough for the premiership with the exception of maybe SIMON VUKCEVIC,(Reg’s tips of one to watch), and THAT IS WHY WE ARE STUCK WITH KEAN. I’m sorry all Rovers supporters but all your opinions and wishes do not count so far as this regime is concerned.

I appeal to Balaji Rao to transfer some cash from your lucrative and successfully businesses and invest in Blackburn Rovers and start running the club properly as a premiership club should be run.

AS WE SAY IN LANCASHIRE”IF YOU PAY PEANUTS YOU GET MONKEYS”

Balaji Rao start being serious and sensible whilst you still have a club in the premiership and start by employing a proper manager. You will be amazed at the difference it will make, believe me.

This is the best piece of advice anyone can give you, unless of course you couldn’t care less – then tell us and we will all know where we stand.

I posted this because its make sense and its not my post but, I really wanted to share it with everyone.

It matters not who the author is......the above is a very pertinent post, and EXACTLY what wants copying to the Raos. No need for any further expansion and certainly not any added abuse. Just send it from BRFCS as a perfectly adequate sample of the opinion of Rovers fans in total.

Sometimes Gav it seems you have to say something whether its anything to do with what I wrote or not. Point me to any disrespect in my post aimed at how people feel.

I'm simply pointing out that you felt like packing Rovers in when we were doing well but are sticking with them now we are bloody awful!

Your irrational dislike of Allardyce knew no bounds and that's the truth of it. You're in no position to offer advice to anybody.

Your irrational dislike for the Walker trust has us in this current mess, if we're playing by your rules that is. You sold your soul for regime change, well 47er you got what you wanted, enjoying it ;)

Now if you’ve got something constructive to say by all means join the debate, tell us how you feel, will you be giving up your season ticket?

But are our owners any more clueless than the Glasers or Henry at Liverpool or Randy Lerner at Villa or Abromovich?

Even Arsenal's US biggest shareholder or the Abu Dhabi sheik at City? The best is probably Levy at Spurs who dug in and wouldn't let Modrich go at any price. The problem is our owners intervene too much. While many of the others don't. And of course worst of lam was not at all Allardycr but John Willams. Yet no I don't think that Rovers are over.

You lot get your knickers in a knot so easily, yes it is extremely concerning that we are bottom of the league but so what, we might get relegated but so what.

It seems people are giving up 45 years of supporting Rovers because we may lose our status in the Premier League, it is not as though we are going broke and into recievership, chin up guys.

Those that supported Rovers have surely seen worse times (in regard to stature) then this, you cannot honestly think that if we continue our losing ways that Kean will last...

There is also a friendly reminder that, this is just a fancy game of kick the ball, a passion yes but not life or death. If it really effects you that much then you SHOULD probably get another focus in life you can be passionate about.

Yet. We may well do if we go down and who is to say what the current financial position is, i.e. at June 2011? Several rumours suggest most of the summer signings were bargain basement on the never never.

Sorry but this is tosh. this has nothing to do with Premiership status. I would follow my team to the Blue Square Premiership League but for these idiots who are in charge.

The issues are: modern football and the greedy, disloyal greedy players and agents who have ruined the game; the Rovers ownership ( this nowt to do with race - I have spent years fighting racism and inequality); it is the ignorant people who run my club who treat fans as fodder without understanding our love and commitment to Rovers; and it is about the most inept dreadful manager that I have seen at Rovers, who like the management team and the owners treats the fans with utter contempt.

MY club, your club, our club is being destroyed and fans are turning on fans.....what a sorry sad sight.

Venkys and Kean get out of my club now please.

Indeed, I would sacrifice our prem status to rid ourselves of Kean and Venkys, they have killed our football club and are treating Rovers supporters extremely badly, they are not interested in Rovers, only India, well I have a message, stay in India and take Kean with you!

Goodbye Preston Blue

Though I never knew you at all

You had the grace to give up your love

While those around you fall

And it seems to me you lived your life

Like a chicken in a factory

Never knowing who to cluck to

when the throat cutting device came in

And I would have liked to have known you

But there is another 25000 I don’t know either

Your candle burned out long before

Your Europa status ever did

Chris, what a star, I am to frame the above and ask the Rao's if they will sign it for me.

I took my ST's down to the Arc refugee project this morning, at least they will go to a good home, I just hope that their are no suicide cases after taking in a game.

Neekoy, when you're born in the area, supporting your local team gets infused into you blood, into your DNA. It's an integral part of you and your life.

When things go wrong, it's truly sickening.

I haven't been able to read one match report this season, save the Arsenal one. I haven't been game enough to stay up and watch; had I done so, I reckon the Mrs would have thrown me out.

I know I'm thousand of miles away, but I do feel well and truly let down by the goings on at Ewood.

What makes it worse is, that I wanted Kean to do well, but as results show, he's been an abject failure. What makes it even worse is that neither he nor the owners can recognise how bad he actually is. If he were in charge of any other Venky's key businesses, then he'd have been given the flick ages ago for non performance.

Paul Hunt phoned me 10 minutes ago? I cannot and will not reveal the contents of a private discussion but to be fair my estimation of the guy has increased, cold calling a naffed off critic cannot be easy?

IF he did that its brilliant and a step in the right directions. I like the sounds coming out of ewood today.
