[Archived] QATAR group bid for Rovers

Given neither us nor them expected Rovers to be in the relegation zone, with a good squad that can't win, watched by protesting fans and key people leaving the club. What should they do ?

  1. 1. Should Venky's stay for the long haul, or cut and run

    • Finish what they started. Follow through on their promise of Europe?

    • Accept any serious bid. Be glad their brand is now known in Europe and move on?

Hopefully a consortium with at least one Rovers fan in it.

I did notice in one of today's papers that Flybe were reporting good profits though...

Not getting my hopes up just yet. Nothing but let-downs recently.

I can't see venkys selling up, I hope they do but I doubt they will, theyve just started up a rovers academy in India and if they sold they would be seen as failures. They Wong even sack Steve kean never mind sell the club for what probably would be less than what they bought it for.

Hope they do though and we get a billionaire rovers fan :D

I would just hope for an owner who respects the club and the fans and has a genuine wish of running the club in the proper english way, with a Chairman and a proper manager - this is actually not really much to ask for!

As for billionares and such - That would just be a bonus - right now I just want my club back, and Kean out.

Oh and imagine Keans face if this takeover-thing would develop into something real, I would pay money to see the look of cocos face when he found out about it!

They can still have their academy and Kean can run it.

Perhaps Berlosconi will find a new venue for his bunga bunga parties now he has more time on his hands. Brockhall would be turned into a real life set for Confessions of a Football Player, as loads of 70's style comedy porn takes place between training sessions.

I'm trying to remain sceptical about the takeover talks as we don't know who they are, or if it is really happening. I think the Rao's stubborn pride in the 'wonderful' job they and Kean are doing will be a major obstacle to any takeover.
