[Archived] QATAR group bid for Rovers

Given neither us nor them expected Rovers to be in the relegation zone, with a good squad that can't win, watched by protesting fans and key people leaving the club. What should they do ?

  1. 1. Should Venky's stay for the long haul, or cut and run

    • Finish what they started. Follow through on their promise of Europe?

    • Accept any serious bid. Be glad their brand is now known in Europe and move on?

Now we are talking SPEED is Key, and this is why supporters need to make this happen, We have to show, we want QATARI IN and VENKYS OUT,

I agree.

If the Qatar people want to spend 500 million pounds on rovers then so be it.

I really hope Venkys sell the club or at least a Majority stake in BRFC!!!

These Qataries mean business in my view!!!

Hopefully a new manager in aswell

let's really hope this happens for the future of BLACKBURN ROVERS FOOTBALL CLUB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

P.S Glen, have you spoke to these people at all either by E-mail or Phone or face to face???

Just asked this on twitter but thought I would pose the question here.

If these guys came in, spent countless millions and got us as Champions League contenders all being micro managed from Qatar, would people be happy that they got 'our Rovers' back?

I think it would be good for club (maybe even essential) if this takeover happens I was just curious as to the above.

In order to achieve the champs league place, you would need a top and credible management team, they in turn would only work for a credible chairman etc with no influence on team affairs. It becomes a self fulfilling prophecy - Malaga and Man City seem to have it right.

It's the way venkys should have gone 10 months ago.

Is it to much to dream that the possible new owners can bring back john Williams?

Personally I wouldn't care less.

All I want is my BRFC back and challenging for Europe.

If a owners wants to spend millions on the club then so be it. BUT we would need a Top Manager in aswell(Hughes or Benitez) to make it happen. Plus a good chairman at the top like John Williams or Tom Finn.

P45 and train ticket home for kean!!!

Won't happen ! Venkys are too stubborn. They would prefer to take us down. Only way would be if Anderson thinks he can no longer carry on with the project. Accept he has made enough money out of us like he did at City.

Or if he thinks he can milk anymore from a new owner.

If he holds as much sway at Rovers as some seem to suggest, then maybe he could be key in persuading Venky's they should pack it in over here. If he thinks he can get his suckers into a richer benefactor he'll do it in a heartbeat. I might even suggest those who have contact with the interested party put this to them. If it helped smooth the way it might not be a bad thing. Provided the leech is shown the door if a deal is done.

Just a thought

We absolutely definitely positively do. What can we do to show this??

Everyone wear a teatowel on your head at Wigan perhaps?

Regarding Glen though, personally I'm disappointed that he's encouraged people to rally against Kean for that reason, but also had this new owner strategy in the background under wraps. That isnt right. (In no way am I pro-Venky and definately not Pro-Kean either.)

Tom I would settle for a manager and owners that understand the fans.

I see where you are going with this and I can see your angle, this would drag us as much away for our homely and family feeling club as much as Venky's have.

Both options are like selling your soul but the fans help to keep it real the only problem is that under Venky's the fans are leaving in their thousands if we were to have owners willing to invest and put us back on the map in footballing terms Ewood park would be full again.

Just on a side note, the best way too get the majority of fans aginst the owners is to get Andy Cryer onboard, maybe 5'000 fans read the Telegraph and a massive pro new owners piece would'nt go amiss.

I'm sure this situation was never how it started off, after the first few protests I'm sure people started sharing a lot of information to Glen as he was the face behind the protests..

Though I'm sure from day one it was always about Kean out.. and things just started from there..

"They have invested heavily in making Blackburn India's Premier League Club" - too tired for words. Please elaborate for me.

I may have drunk a bit too much Stella but I could have swore I saw the same post from Bob and now its gone and appeared under EwoodDawn.

I'm losing my mind im sure

This is not the owner of Malaga and Paris St Germain.

This is Qatar Petroleum.

Hi Philipl

Are you sure its not Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani, Crown Prince of Qatar who is also Chairman of the Board of Directors of Qatar Investment Authority?

The Qatar Investment Authority (Arabic: جهاز قطر للاستثمار) (QIA) is Qatar's sovereign wealth fund, specializing in domestic and foreign investment. It was founded in 2005 to manage the oil and natural gas surpluses by the Government of Qatar.

Would explain both the LET and Nickos stories if it were.

Cheers

BKR

Got it one mate

Maybe, but your indicating now that the focus changed, but you didnt let everyone know. I understand that sometimes people are told things they cannot repeat, but it was perfectly feasible you could have said something along the lines of that you were aware of interested parties in Rovers, and that an anti-Venky element to the protests was a message to them too.

Glen, I applaud you for getting the protest up and running and the collosal amount of work you have put in. However, I still dont think you should have allowed unknowing people to protest against something, whilst you had a ulterior motive behind that.
