[Archived] QATAR group bid for Rovers

Given neither us nor them expected Rovers to be in the relegation zone, with a good squad that can't win, watched by protesting fans and key people leaving the club. What should they do ?

    • Finish what they started. Follow through on their promise of Europe?

    • Accept any serious bid. Be glad their brand is now known in Europe and move on?

Won't happen ! Venkys are too stubborn. They would prefer to take us down. Only way would be if Anderson thinks he can no longer carry on with the project. Accept he has made enough money out of us like he did at City.

Anderson did a quick money making job at Man City before selling, maybe the mony is drying up for him!!

So is it QIA or QP? Or are they one and the same?

They are both state owned and in essence the same. In effect what we will be getting is the Qatar Royal family buying Rovers.

Why Rovers? Well they have shown in the past that they are willing to buy less glamorous clubs, they did it with Malaga in Spain and to some extent they did it in France with PSG (who are big but they could've gone and bought Marseille or Lyon). So Rovers fit that investment portfolio.

But this now all depends on Venky's wanting to sell. We will know the answer to that very soon. Like I said above, if the answer is "no" they won't go back in with another offer, they will just move onto another club. If the answer is yes then this will happen very quickly, they want to get in as soon as possible and there will be big changes.

Will there be more info in the next podcast?

With the way things have gone for them and the bleak future facing their investment, Mrs Desai and the Rao brothers would have to be unbelievably stupid not to take up an offer like this....................oh....er..........wait a minute.....

I hope Venky's sell up, but I can't see it happening. Kean and Anderson would be fighting to keep hold of their influence at the club, and Mrs. Desai will be so utterly stubborn and infuriating that she will not sell up and eff off. I think we should prepare for the Indian clowns to stay and poison our club further. At least if some Qatari billionaires did take over we'd all be cock-a-hoop if we took this attitude.

@StewartGreig Qatar are interested but I don't know how far that runs. I believe they want Everton & this is a tactic... #Rovers

@StewartGreig to panic fans and ultimately kenwright into selling for FAR less. Hence that is only a very small part of what I said #Rovers

Just passing on the info I read on twitter don't shoot the messenger.

Kamy, what would be the best indicator that Venky's have accepted/rejected the offer? We know they are useless at releasing info through the club, would we find out from the Qatar end?

Is the offer £25 million for the club and take on the debt?

They looked at Everton very seriously, but the problem is that buying Everton means putting in circa £300 million for the new stadium, they would rather spend that £300 million on buying players at a club like Rovers were the stadium is not a issue, this is the reason why so many companies/groups have not bought Everton.

I am taking everything with a pinch of salt ..As for the Everton bid , a much bigger club and fanbase but a poor ground and bigger debt ..It would cost many many millions to build Everton a new ground.Whereas Rovers , thanks to Jack Walker it is all there ...

I'm no expert but I try and take a simplistic approach to stories like this. Why wouldn't Venky's sell whilst they still have a semblance of respectability left? Their reputation (to a lot of outsiders) hasn't been damaged too much as the majority of people outside Blackburn are of the opinion that the fans are against the imposter (who could hopefully be the fall guy in all this with his stooge Anderson). In my humble opinion their credibility would be off the radar if we did get relegated so it would make sense to me for them to get out whilst the going is (relatively) good for them. If the story is true they are getting their money back and thay have had copious amounts of free advertising for nothing. Job done for me!

However I do understand that that Venky's and sensible decisions haven't been too apparent in the last year or so.

In my opinion...

Venkys will do whatever is in the best interests of Venkys.

The Qatari bid has to be favourable to Mrs D. Whether its favourable to Rovers is immaterial.

This talk of not wanting to sell up to avoid "losing face" is beyond a joke. I which they'd put as much emphasis on finding face.

Just hope whatever happens, happens in time to save our season...

Venky's have had nearly 12 months as owners and have took us backwards massivly. They seem to have no plan to how the club will run. Rovers have no Chairman or CEO. We have a manager who is clueless and out of his depth totally.

I really hope they sell!!!

If we lose on the weekend surely the Qatari interest will most definitely turn elsewhere. We'll be cut adrift at the bottom of the league and will be too much of a gamble. They need a premier league club and we would be hanging onto that status by a thread.

Is it SEM/Kentaro that have lined up this potential takeover? Will they have a continuing role at the club? If it is they are probably ###### themselves with excitement over it.

I can tell you this deal going through as nothing to do with SEM/Kentaro. Qatari's have their own teams for this kinda stuff.

Yes. They don't need any extensive period of Due Diligence and have the best legal and accounting teams in the world so can turn this deal around very quickly.

Wow.

Its like a dream... reality will hit us when it does not happen and they buy Norwich or something
