[Archived] QATAR group bid for Rovers

Given neither us nor them expected Rovers to be in the relegation zone, with a good squad that can't win, watched by protesting fans and key people leaving the club. What should they do ?

  1. 1. Should Venky's stay for the long haul, or cut and run

    • Finish what they started. Follow through on their promise of Europe?

    • Accept any serious bid. Be glad their brand is now known in Europe and move on?

One thing is very obvious now, getting rid of Kean is almost irrelevant now. Its about persuading Venkys to exit.

Venkys exit will be followed very quickly by Keans ..

Yep-exactly what I meant. But now we go for the big target first and the little one will follow.

I can't help but think that the key quote from The People is

However, sources at Ewood Park claim that not even a whacking profit would make the Rao family walk away now.

They have invested heavily in making Blackburn Indias Premier League club and they do not want to lose face.

Venkys Out!

WHERE?????

Venky's Out!!!

Venky's should sell the club now. They should realise that they are people who can invest more into the club and take the club further and move quickly up the league and get us challlenging for Europe!!!

Logically this is a no brainer for Venky's. It's quite obvious they've been advised horrifically and some pretty shady things have happened under their watch. They're practically at the point of no return with a significant portion of the fans and clearly don't have the desire to put their own money into the club. Their paltry transfer/wage budgets (net return in the summer actually) won't keep us in the league and once we get relegated that's it, we don't come back and they're stuck with a useless team in the Championship. Everything says SELL.

But since it's Venky's, you can guarantee they won't

I was reading a post by someone , I cant find that post but I will make my points here.

Some fans are turning on Glenn muller which is not on he show that their were many fans out there who had no ideas what was happening to their club.Glenn has been super and so has Simon, the bottom line Glenn has not made the club to look into selling he just wants the club to listen to the fans and the venky to show their faces and talk to the fans.

We are all behind the Glenn and Simon.

If Venky's cared about Rovers fans' opinions then they would have sacked Kean months ago. He's still here. I dont think the fans are going to have a say in this.

Fans have concentrated on getting Kean out though. Many on here, including myself were willing to give them a fresh start. We thought we had no choice--remember?-----"it took Walkers 4 years to find a buyer, how could we find another?"

Not anymore! Focus has to be on Venkys .

OK, a message to the fans forum members.

You guys are in a great position to judge the truth in these stories. If they are well founded, then call an emergency meeting and contact the Raos immediately. Ask them to consider selling the club and explain to them what situation they would find themselves in, if they put their own interests in front of the long term interests of the club.

Quite easy to understand if you take your time and re-read.

Please don't force him off the forum by giving him stick.

I understand what he's saying, i think.

I just dont see the relevance.

Rovers' very existance is in the balance today.

Venky's have saddled us with debts, appointed wrong manager, made dubious signings and there is only worse to come, we either move forward with the Qatar bid or we could fold totally under Venkys, believe me, a threat from the PL is becoming very real under our current regime, the Qatar bid would I think, divert that threat and allow us as a club to move forward!

I doubt they'll sell up because it makes too much sense, but I just can't see how they can follow through with their promise of European football when they've made so many mistakes and the antics behind the scenes that we hear about are far too worrying for Venky's to be able to make a success of themselves at Rovers.

The state of our finances worries me greatly - problem is when you have owners who never communicate, along with a dork as manager, you can never really progress.

For their own brands benefit the Rao family have lied about their intentions since day one.

You can only lie so long before the brand becomes one big lie.

With regards to India, Venky's are still TALKING about doing something big with Rovers.

One year in and they have done nothing substantive.

Looking at the poll so far; we have finlly found Kean's 1% of fans!

The two of you who want Venky's to continue.

If this is true could we not use the PL to force them to sell

This guy is certainly richer than Venky's but he's not quite in the Sheik Mansour/Abramovich bracket...

http://www.forbes.com/2009/06/17/royals-bachelor-richest-business-billionaires-next-generation_slide_5.html

His dad's page also says $2 billion but not sure if that's then the family wealth or they both have $2bn each. Either way it could push us in favour over Everton as a new ground costs hundreds of millions and I don't think he's quite rich enough to wanna throw that kind of money away before he's even started.

Anyway, I'd love it if he was successful, anyone but Venky's!!!

I don't think the brand is a lie, clearly they have used the club as a vehicle to promote their own brand with the aim of expansion in Asia and also they are going to open one of their express outlets in London and possibly Ewood (apparently).

On talking and action, they have been slow on all decisions relating to Rovers.
