[Archived] QATAR group bid for Rovers

Given neither us nor them expected Rovers to be in the relegation zone, with a good squad that can't win, watched by protesting fans and key people leaving the club. What should they do ?

  1. 1. Should Venky's stay for the long haul, or cut and run

    • Finish what they started. Follow through on their promise of Europe?

    • Accept any serious bid. Be glad their brand is now known in Europe and move on?

After Venky's, I think most Rovers' supporters will couome to realise just how sound the old regime was - we had it pretty good.

Any potenyial new owner can only be an improvement.

Even Berlosconi would be an improvement over the current village idiots who are, seemingly deliberately, trying to ruin our club.

I truly hope that a takeover is successfull and that any new owners are football fans and preferably Rovers fans, if not it would be an improvement if they just talked to us!

Maybe just maybe kean not sacked because the V's don't want to pay his comp and they say sign new contract because new guys will pop you. ...

This crossed my mind also.

Never going to happen.

But what if it did... Rich Qatari billionaires have already shown how a club should be run with the purchase of a Spanish club.

John, I thought it says that the new group don't even know if the current owners want to sell or not?

" Rovers are not the only Premier League club they are interested in buying and have not even been told that Venky's would consider selling the club "

It won't happen. We all know it won't happen. Let's not get excited.

Please please please please let this happen.

I am really trying not to get excited by this news, or story. If they even considered Everton and Man Utd, there are probably a host of other clubs they'd buy before us. We'd only be in if Venky's would sell at the same sort of knock down price they bought us for. Long term, even the likes of Leeds of Sheffield Wednesday would be a similar deal.

Still, it gets your heart racing a bit.

P.S. Which Spanish club is Qatari owned?

Maybe Venkys can take the money, and buy Burnley? They are already legends there. Everyones a winner.

Interesting that Cryer has gone to press with it. Surely must have some legs or his reputation would take a hit.

Step Kamy, the floor is yours...
