BPF Posted November 14, 2011 Posted November 14, 2011 http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2061114/Blackburn-Rovers-want-Andrew-Johnson.html? I guess its paper talk but i reckon Fulham will keep him in the end. Noone with a brain would sign for us.
davulsukur Posted November 14, 2011 Posted November 14, 2011 For £2million i'd go for it, although like BPF says, who would want to join a sinking (sunken by jan) ship?
Brfcrule1 Posted November 15, 2011 Posted November 15, 2011 too many crocks on the books we don't need another should just bite the bullet and bid 10M for defoe
Tyrone Shoelaces Posted November 15, 2011 Posted November 15, 2011 He's not for me, Kalinic would have been a better bet.
davulsukur Posted November 16, 2011 Posted November 16, 2011 too many crocks on the books we don't need another should just bite the bullet and bid 10M for defoe And when he rejects us?

Hughesy Posted December 27, 2011 Posted December 27, 2011 Looks like this one isnt going to go away. Talks of a £2m fee, 50k wages for a 30 year old. Whats peoples views of the deal and also of him?? My view is that he would be our 2nd best striker, but at 50k a week, id look elsewhere as he has never been prolific in the prem, apart from 1 season with Palace.
Mattyblue Posted December 28, 2011 Posted December 28, 2011 50k a week for Andy Johnson? My god, relegation is going to hit us hard.

He is a goalscorer and he would be excellent back up for the Yak. Maybe both could play together if kean change tactics and formation. Alan Nixon article in DM about the AJ deal http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/transfer-news/Transfer-gossip-exclusive-Andy-Johnson-set-to-make-2m-move-from-Fulham-to-Blackburn-article846720.html
Rovers_Dan Posted December 28, 2011 Posted December 28, 2011 he is good at taking penaltys, thats about all.
beastlove Posted December 28, 2011 Posted December 28, 2011 Good signing IMO. Proven at premiership level and has played wide left, right as well as central striker. Better than goodwillie and is good backup. I think Roberts will go to fund this move which is a shame.
imy9 Posted December 28, 2011 Posted December 28, 2011 Good player, key with this signing is that AJ is a premier league player and has experience of playing in this league. He can start straight away which is what we need. Two injury hit years but he is a goal scorer and can play a variety of positions, be interesting to see his assists as I always thought he created lots for others.
Kelbo Posted December 28, 2011 Posted December 28, 2011 Johnson plays off his pace and movement, not the best finisher in the world and at 30 he is going to slow down some, without pace he will be innefective in my opinion!!
Clitherover Posted December 28, 2011 Posted December 28, 2011 I think Roberts will go to fund this move which is a shame. Is that a joke?
Hughesy Posted December 28, 2011 Posted December 28, 2011 He is a goalscorer and he would be excellent back up for the Yak. Goalscorer? 13 goals in 80 games for Fulham being his most recent record.....or 17 in 61 games at Everton! Sorry but I dont think he will do much for us....much rather we tried to get a proper goalscorer.
RibbleValleyRover Posted December 28, 2011 Posted December 28, 2011 Injury prone, 30 years old and on huge wages? No thanks.
dinglebasher Posted December 28, 2011 Posted December 28, 2011 I don't really understand why we're signing strikers on huge wages when all we keep hearing from Kean is that 'we always have a goal in us' and that our defence / defensive midfield capability is non-existent. Surely the priorities have to be full backs and a quality midfielder? Surely he can't be contradicting himself?
beastlove Posted December 28, 2011 Posted December 28, 2011 Is that a joke? No Roberts isn't brilliant but does try hard and has experience of relegation battles. His experience would be useful in the dressing room and he is also a decent squad member. We only have him and the Yak with premiership experience
pick32 Posted December 28, 2011 Posted December 28, 2011 People writing him of already, probably the same people who said the Yak was to old and slow aswel.
Hasta Posted December 28, 2011 Posted December 28, 2011 People writing him of already, probably the same people who said the Yak was to old and slow aswel. Difference being the Yak had scored goals previously.
