Read the rest of his post, it makes sense.

I respect Glenn and his efforts but I think there does need to be a mutual understanding. If people criticise the form of protest that he chooses to organise it doesn't necessarily mean that they're against the motive for protesting in the first place. There is also a fine line as to when a protest may do more harm than good. At what point do you accept that Venky's are just ignoring your protests and all that the marches/sit in protests/fly pasts are achieving is lowering the team morale??

In any case, I still do not fully understand what further protests are attempting to achieve. Kean out?? Well that'll happen dependant on results. As has been mentioned in previous posts, I cannot really fault Kean for his recent team selection or the overall performances of the team so Im not sure that protests have been merited in those fixtures.

Waffle,

Keep fiddling, theres not much left to burn now

Did you expect points against Chelsea and Spurs?? If so then I reckon any Rovers manager would under scrutiny. Playing well and losing against those teams is acceptable. Against Wigan it wont be. That's why I dont think protesting at the Spurs and Chelsea games was really called for. It made people sympathise more for Kean if anything.

I go into every game expecting us and hoping we will win!!'

For a start it will unite the fans and get them together. You say we all get behind the team, well the atmosphere in Ewwod this season has been rubbish due to the tension and negativity around Kean. We all want him out and everybody seems on the edge at matches which means the atmosphere is lost. The plane did dampen the atmosphere as people started getting very angry about it. A Pro Rovers march can be shown as one of up yours at Venky's and Kean, but we still love the team. I would quite happy sing "one jack walker" all the way through. It can be put out to the press that this is a week off from the protests to show our support for the team, not Kean but the team!! Then have banners to show that. People keep saying that we are behind the team, well why not do something to show this. This would create a much better atmosphere in the ground and get that good feeling back at Rovers which has been killed by Kean and Venky's. It would be nice to show we are bigger than them and I am sure it would be well recieved by every Rovers fan either pro protest or not!! I am pretty much sick of all this negativity and feel it is the right time with a big game at the weekend that we show our support in a big way. If we get beat then naturally the whole crowd will turn on Kean as he would not be able to blame the fans only himself.

Sure so that Kean can smirk again and say that all the fans are behind him.

Don't worry, Glen.

We'll all be behind you when we sell Hoillett in January and spend absolutely nothing, rooted in the bottom three with the chuckle brothers and Uriah Heep lording over another 1-0 defeat when we entered the box 87 times. Obviously the ship will have sailed then, but nevermind. We played well.

There's more than a whiff of Stockholm Syndrome and Alzheimic amnesia around this thread and I'm not gelling with it.

One thing though. I am firmly of the opinion that the theme going forward should be a solid Venky's Out!. There's no point anymore p!$$sing into the wind with Keano. The mobsters have listened to our managerial objections and chosen to ignore. More fool them. They were warned that attentions would turn and they have.

My only regret is that those of us non-ITK's were not privy to the potential bidders a couple of weeks ago when some further efforts could have been directed directly at our chicken overlords. Alas not. People were reticent to oust the Venksters as there appeared no viable alternative, so that, IMO, was a missed opportunity.

I make a further plea to the "Pune 9/12" representatives of the fans forum. The Venky's have ignored your pleas and efforts for greater transparency and cooperation. You now have the right to address these short-comings in a public, collective and ambassadorial manner which will, make no mistake, shape the future of the club. You got a freebie. Now earn it.

Don't let this opportunity pass!

Glen, exactly what are you expecting to happen before the Wigan game Kean leave?, venkys leave?

Name one person on this board that was unhappy with the last two Kean team selections?

Name one person that thought the players were not playing for the manager we so hate?

Name anyone who think that Kean replacing Salgado with Lowe, Petrovic with Pedersen, and Roberts with Yakubu was not a good move?

What chances do you think that many fans after the wigan game will have renewed hope based on how well we have been playing?

I hate Kean as a person, he is slime but if he plays the team he is playing, I think he might get a few wins coming up.

Our life under The Trust was not so great, Venkys will not give Kean forever, Kean taken advantage of them, but pretty sure Jack Walker gave Kidd 13 or 14 games after getting us relegated.

So you think winning 3 games since the 1st feb is good enough? Thats 3 wins 25 games. You need at least 40 points to stay up, meaning you need 10-12 wins plus 4-10 draws (less for more wins or more for less wins)

Roberts is injured, so its either Yak or Goodwillie, Salgado is also injured I believe.

Play as well as you like, or as poor as you like in competitive sport the only thing that matters is winning. And the last time I checked in football that means scoring at least 1 more goal that the other team. Not by entering the oppositions box 38 times or squad value being increased like kean things.

All the above are facts and do not lie. You can look at the positives but all that is just opinion.

I agree performances have improved but that is still not bringing results

Kean is just the symptom of the main problem which is the owners.

They have taken the p**s since day one - perhaps due to the conflict of interest however the buck stops with them.

Just to pick you up on a couple of your points Chris - The manager is paid to pick the team he thinks will perform the best for any given match, l flat refuse to pat Kean on the back for eventually realising this. Its a shame it's taken him this long.

As for the players performing for the manager, l'm convinced when player cross that line on a match day they have more important things to worry about than who the manager is. If, for one second, this is not the case, why aren't the players giving 100% to begin with and where do they find this bit "extra" from for the manager?

I believe it was also reported on here that a senior player has put their case across for Kean being removed (apologies if was not the case).

I for one hope you are right about him getting a few wins but despite how good we look going forward (l believe this is how people perceive we are playing better), l cannot see us winning much whilst were shipping goals at the back.

For the record l also think we are playing better ATTACKING football now.

Been down to Ewood within the last hour. About 20 floral tributes, all very decent but feels like we need at least five times that number to make an impact.

Very quiet down there and no sign of Vijay.

So what would you prefer?

The club not advise this was going to happen and just remove the flowers as soon as they arrive? They'd be perfectly entitled to do so, just as they are for any delivery.

At least those who are spending money on the flowers aren't wasting their money by doing something that will definitely be futile. By setting ground rules at least those who have spent the cash know that it's not totally redundant.

I'm against this particular protest, but wouldn't want supporters to be throwing £15 a shot down the drain for something that could be avoided.

Can I have another -1 please?

No. I expect them to leave them alone until they die but being the cowards that they are they prefer to pretend that nobody is against the Venkys and Kean and therefore to hide the protests.

Dont bring banners as it will upset the players

Don't bring banners because it will upset supporters

Don't Protest before or during games

I quite agree with these statements. Following my meeting with Stuart Caley at the club, I was pleased that they decided not to allow banners to be shown during the game, exactly as I had requested.

Apologies to all but I gave this post a + by mistake !!!

This is a Sunday League mentality I would expect from this guy.

Fair point on this being thought up a while ago, but you have to take on the chin that people may perceive it to be in bad taste.

Anybody who makes excuses and thinks its going to blow over is deluded, however I dont think that the protests have made any difference (neither did the Pune trip).

Then why in the name of Keano's chuff isn't anyone addressing this?

Its not like they haven't already heard the message - its just that they seem incapable of making any decisions. The more that you protest, the more they seem to be digging in, i'm not knocking you, its obvious you wear your heart on your sleeve, but it all appears pointless.

At the Chelsea game, I was shocked to see the amount of people who thought the Plane was a bad idea, and so many who are fervently against any protests at all. However, the majority of people are NOT happy at all about the situation. Those who dont want to get involved in the protests however quite rightly get annoyed at being branded as not "True Fans", or when people who have never been to Ewood suggest season ticket holders boycott the games. Its those comments that make me understand not allowing banners into the ground. It would only take a couple of fans whose view was impeded or who disagreed to kick off and with tensions as they are at the moment, that *could* spread.

When I saw the possibility of a Qatar takeover, there was some hope that this could put us in a position where we could put all this behind us and move on. I can't say I was confident that Venkys would ever sell mind - half of PR part of the Pune trip was showing people that they intend to go nowhere.

Edit - I should have added, that whilst I disagree with it, that Glen and Simon have always conducted themselves above board on this

I'm sorry to read this. The whole post smacks of defeated resignation.

Personal insults surely does not help the situation. I always understood that this web site and forum was for democratic views of Blackburn Rovers supporters. You may have your own views about banners on show during the 90 minutes of a game. I have my own views and I was requested to air my comments at a meeting at the ground.

So did I, so presumably, your campaign to get the banners banned was a one man crusade as the overwhelming majority on here was clearly in favour of a visible protest during the match. So much for your understanding of democracy !!!

Chris, I think this post sums up the problem Glen + Simon etc are facing.

The non-protestors and Kean/Venky apologists, don't know what Glen does about what is happening OFF THE PITCH

Performances have improved - results haven't

BUT - OFF THE PITCH THE CLUB IS A SHAMBLES AND THAT IS THE MAIN REASON FOR THE PROTEST

brfcs.com is obviously more 'free and democratic' than Ewood Park these days.

So the current position of the club has been planned all along and it was part of Venky's master plan for the club to be in the relagation zone on the first anniversary of their takeover.

No, but I dont dismiss the chance that relegation zone could've happened under former owners or different new owners.

Its nothing that shows complete shambles off the pitch about us being in the relegation zone.

Eh?

Apart from no chairman, no Managing Director, no sponsor, 25% lower season ticket sales, vastly reduced corporate sales, a manager kept on with one of the worst records in PL history and so on and so forth

Seems like an OK bunch

lower season ticket sales I have no clue about and it may be a sign of the recession times.

The manager thing is staggering, but stability is key. They might try to achieve that.

So you dismiss off-field events as "rumour" but are satisfied with a list of names of whom you know nothing as "seems like an OK bunch"?

Please, do expand. I'm intrigued.
