PAFELL Posted November 16, 2011 Posted November 16, 2011 I totally agree with this - I think this is a point I tried to make a while back. There are going to be groups of people out there who either don't read this site or simply don't bother with the Internet at all. Law of diminishing returns. A suggestion is that a collection of material is posted somewhere (wordpress? somewhere like that) and a flyer created with a) basic facts surrounding the situation and weblink(s) They can be handed out at the games, thus spreading the message to those not aware of anything other than what's in their faces. It's up to them at that point if they choose to look at the information. Also reckon this needs to be akin to a charity type situation, prominent locals/professionals and players needed to add their support - but will they? Getting a little dispirited with it all now, but then external factors in my life are adding to my issues, not really sure where it all goes from here. But as people have said on here previously, today's news is tomorrows chips wrapper, so some sort of archive of material might be useful? Very good post. Hand a flyer out informing fans of the concerns folk have. Especially those who do not come on here. ALL SUPPORTERS need go be put in the picture. Then the support for any protest may grow

Assuming you've already transfered the photos from your camera/phone to computer: go to: www.imageshack.us click "browse" in the browsing window which appears, find the location of your images on your computer. select all the images by clicking the first one, and then the past one while holding shift. click open ignore the e-mail section click upload now. once they've uploaded, link each seperate thumbnail to the forum by copy and pasting the address bar into a reply on here.
J*B Posted November 16, 2011 Posted November 16, 2011 It's been 35 minutes.. we have no photos. I've given up hope.
ABBEY Posted November 16, 2011 Posted November 16, 2011 Is it true all mention of flowers and protests have been removed off the offishsh site? Does mr groobs still run it? Or the venky dictatorship?
roversfan83 Posted November 16, 2011 Posted November 16, 2011 like the other fella i'm useless with computers but if it works this was around lunch.
Al Posted November 16, 2011 Posted November 16, 2011 It's been 35 minutes.. we have no photos. I've given up hope. So have I. I've spent all this time but when I click upload nothing happens. I'll try again after tea.
Jackson Posted November 16, 2011 Posted November 16, 2011 Is it true all mention of flowers and protests have been removed off the offishsh site? Does mr groobs still run it? Or the venky dictatorship? Welcome to the Republic of Venkista. Reprehensible. And whoever did that should hang their head in shame. Although, I might add, that posters there do seem to post in fear of upsetting the dictatorial overlord(s). You can almost smell the oppression. I do hope that this board doesn't follow suit so that we may welcome our outspoken brethren to the fold.

J*B Posted November 16, 2011 Posted November 16, 2011 Sky Sports News report on this coming up. 40seconds of Voiceover/reporter suggesting the protest is in bad taste due to it being so close to remembrance Sunday. 5 fans interviewed, 1 of which was a woman who didnt even look at the camera?

They missed an old chap walking his whippet in a flat cap to fulfill their usual Northern stereotypes. I'd personally never though about the link to Remeberance Sunday until SSN mentioned it ... Damn Venkys showed no considerations when they bought the club!

Typical media response to the current events ongoing. Rather than ask proper questions into why people have been driven to such meaningful action and rhetoric they instead focus on questioning the taste of the protest. Another media attempt to discredit the fans' feelings, and shy away from the real issues at stake. Disapointing.
Tyrone Shoelaces Posted November 16, 2011 Posted November 16, 2011 We'd have been better saving up some old shoes and launching them in direction of The Venkies next time they appear at Ewood, it's supposed to be a big insult out East so I'm told.

"Shoes off if you hate Venky's" could be one chant worth adopting for Wigan away.
Stuart Posted November 16, 2011 Posted November 16, 2011 I guess the club have more friends in the media than Glen. Who knew? What happens when you get a stalemate in chess? Because we are rapidly heading there. One thing the club and some fans are missing in all this: Glen should be thanked for keeping the protests well organised, respectable and safe. I really hope everyone involved remains patient despite being ignored and even belittled, and continues to follow this strategy...
Ossydave Posted November 16, 2011 Posted November 16, 2011 Glen must be really tearing his hair out now with these protests. I'm at the point now where I think only a mass pitch invasion would make them sit up and take note. Not that I believe that's going to happen though, nor am I suggesting it as an option.
thenonda Posted November 16, 2011 Posted November 16, 2011 To be fair the reporter was very sympathetic for our cause and asked all the right questions, very must of not suited the southern based editor. BTW the reporter was the same one that Steve Kean abused in Germany and its fair to say he dont like him.

I doubt the club has many friends in the media, more likely certain agents have fingers in those pies.
glen9mullan Posted November 16, 2011 Author Posted November 16, 2011 I will be speaking with BBC Tomoz who at Ewood so, pretty sure they will cover the supporters side, think the supporters who spoke to Sky did really well, and its the sky presenters in the studio who tried to twist it

Could SEM-Kentaro 'a sports entertainment and media group' have something to do with the lack of media attention to detail in asking really penetrating questions and coverage? Who knows, I'm just speculating. I guess such an entity would have friendly figures and contacts in the media world...
PAFELL Posted November 16, 2011 Posted November 16, 2011 I can understand why some relate this flower protest to recent remembrance day. Many laid wreaths of poppies this past week. Timing of this flower protest wss badly thought out imo.
Al Posted November 16, 2011 Posted November 16, 2011 So have I. I've spent all this time but when I click upload nothing happens. I'll try again after tea. I'm going to have to give up. Imageshack just says that the file is too big even if I try to upload a single picture. Maybe it's because they are HD 16megapixels. Sorry guys. I tried.
