Is it distasteful? If it is, im positive that it wasnt meant to be, merely to convey the feeling that, apparently, a lot of Rovers fans feel, that our club, the club we knew and loved, is dead.

Why do peaople have to personalise everything?

If people have an idea, any idea, to show Venkys and the world that A)Kean needs to go, B)They need to go and C)Anderson needs shooting, then lets hear them guys.

Its easy to blame folk like Glen for trying to be imaginative and creative to show fan feeling but I dont see all you naysayers coming up with ideas or even getting off your backsides, other than to applaud Steve Kean every saturday.

Wheres your spark peeps!

Either way, distateful or not, its happening now.

I'm not personalising anything. The only thing I'm personalising is my opinion on this latest "protest". It may not have meant to come across distasteful and am sure it's being done with the best intentions like the other protests. All this protest, particular things about each one, haven't sat right with me. Maybe they do for most other people but that's just them and I respect that as I have done since this whole thing started. Doesn't make me or them any less a supporter / fan. We just show our passion in different ways and hold different opinions on the protest.

I can sense the way a good number of our fans are going to go these next few months.

'it's all rumour, get behind 'em'.

to

'as long as there are lads in blue n white playing down Ewood, I'm happy enough'.

to

'it's only a game, more important things in life'.

I take your point Matty but I know of a good few people who have been 100% behind all the protests so far who feel uncomfortable with this particular method of protest, but still agree with the principle of protesting. Some feel uncomfortable as they see it as 'trivialising death', some because it is too soon after Remembrance Sunday and therefore easily ridiculed by the press, and others because it isn't an inclusive protest (flowers aren't cheap).

Also, Kean is an easy target for protest because of his appalling record and the BS he spouts. Some people aren't as comfortable in respect of protesting against Venkys. And before anyone jumps in, I'm not among that group. However, all most of us have is unsubstantiated rumour and heresay in respect of a lot of what is 'doing the rounds' and I think if someone was able to back this up with hard evidence many more fans would feel inclined to protest against the owners.

I've said this before but the only way this will come to a head is spontaneously on the back of a bad result in a 'winnable' game.

I think Ill call and order a dozen of roses or would that destroy the message? For me the club is not dead. I still have a club to support. They are still in the mighty blue and whites. The team is still packed with young guns and local lads. We still have Ewood Park. We still have the lancashire rose (Sp?) on our shirt.

WE ARE STILL BLACKBURN ROVERS FC !

For blokes like me who are not into buying flowers, some hints:

1) you want to cover the biggest space possible for your money so go for the cheapest flower types

2) this is not about colour so go for white flowers (black can be pricey)

3) there are florists who have agreed to waive delivery charges so even more flowers or multiple bunches!

I have ordered my wreath reading BRFC 1875-2011 gone but not forgotten.

Some may argue that Rovers are not yet dead but the club is now so far removed from what I have known over the last 28, most years as a season ticket holder, it may as well be a totally different club and to all intents and purposes dead! This may also appear to trivialise death of a loved one but what if you love Rovers every bit as much as a family member, etc. And that is, admittedly as sad as it sounds, how much I loved Rovers with its death every bit as sad as a relatives.

One thing is for sure Rovers fans know their own mind and will not be taken for mugs, an example of this, in 1960 the club totally screwed up FA cup final allocation so that many regulars were unable to get tickets. Many of whom at the time said they’d never go again. In 1960 our average attendance was 27,000 in 1961 it was 19,000. 8,000 nearly 30% said goodbye to the club then I think a similar number will say farewell now.

This has gone beyond “just support your team” nonsense. For those who think this is the best course of action I will summarise how I feel with the following analogy. I would do anything for my mates but if I found out one raped my missus I would end all friendship, to put it mildly, none of this just support your mate nonsense. Glad to report this hasn’t happened but the level of betrayal is how I feel about Rovers, they have done and are doing something so terrible they are simply dead to me.

RIP BRFC.

What makes it so totally different now?

- Still the shame shirts

- Stille the same location and stadium name

- Still the same badge

- Still the same ticket pricez

Okay, we have another board and managament, but a lot of companies changes this and still lives on.

Totally agree with the bit I've highlighted.

Couldn't disagree more with the rest of it, with the greatest respect. Given the choice between having things as they are or having a loved one returned to me and never seeing Rovers again, it is a complete no-brainer I'm afraid!

Just spoke with Ewood Florists, really nice chap – says they have been quite busy since yesterday afternoon.

There is no delivery charges for today and they will deliver to the Jack Walker statue. They accept all credit and debit cards.

Telephone number is 01254 53393, there are some cheap options if you don’t want to spend much and only takes a few mins to arrange.

The first thing on your list the shirts. While I quite like new version Rovers are known as the blue and white halves reversed anything else isn‘t our shirt. This new shirt doesn’t have halves reversed this is tiny and insignificant in the bigger picture but it’s the very first thing you mentioned and its changed.

But more importantly. A change in the clubs attitude towards fans. The clubs utter contempt for the fans whether they or anyone disagrees with the sit in protest to attempt to drown them out with music shows almost a hatred of the protesting fans. Also banning banners its all contempt for fans. I know quite a few fans who have not been on protests or ever would but thought that was disgusting.

They have changed the structure of the club no chairman, no ceo and arguably no manager.

Fans at each others throats. Change.

No one can speak to the owners and if they are the owners are totally ignoring a large section of fans. Certainly a change from Williams/Finn era.

Ticket prices, location, badge currently the same but who can predict where the madness will stop. Maybe venkys will have us do a Wimbledon-mk dons. Move us out to Pune call us Pune Rovers. But for me, it’s the clubs contempt for the fans that has killed it.

Everyone has their own opinion and if can continue with the way it is I wish you all the best. I sincerely hope by accident or design we pull ourselves out of this mess. But all the evidence so far under Venkys points to further even darker days ahead. Ultimately everyone wants the same outcome but its too painful for me to watch the whole thing implode.

Remember you choose urself how you want to express yourself through flowers. If you want to show your love to the club you can put down red roses. if you want to express grief you can put down some marigold. The most important thing is that we show that we are many, and we all have feelings for the club, some different feelings maybe, but still we stand unite

I think if it was put that way, and not as an RIP Rovers thing with wreaths etc then imho it would appear less distasteful to many. It does appear that somebody was watching the Remembrance Day parades, and thought laying flowers was a good idea.

That said, at least its not during a game, and taking the attention from the team.

I find it more appalling that you knock everything you are not involved in, without offering alternatives!!

Supporters with blind faith are praying for a miracle, but will you hold your hands up when things really do get bad? I guess you will be ducking for cover and throwing a hissy fit as per usual. And TBH I didnt expect much different from you.

Glen I think while you have been doing some excellent stuff in terms of organising other protest's, this on the back of the plane stunt will have got more fans back up more than ever. A lot of people I know who don't post on this forum are disgusted in this form of protest, you are helping creating a divide between Rovers fans which at the end of the day is not what your intention should be. People will be accusing you of hogging the lime light and doing it for attention. I don't think that is the case given the amount of care you have shown for the club. This is not a personal go at yourself, but a considered view from other supporters and how you might be coming across.

You are asking what the alternative is, then hold a supporters rally, but a positive one. Something to show that we are all together and the club will not die unless they get rid of us. At this time of the season it is time to bring the supporters together, therefore do a "blue and white march" in which people dress in blue and white, hats, scarfs, wigs anything really and sing pro Rovers songs. This could be done at the Wigan game, from the middle of town to ground. Imagine 1000 or so Rovers fans marching on mass to game which would than filter into the ground and will filter back to the players but you can make your poiint in the press that we are all still against Kean and Venky's. At this time it is important we get points, Kean is here to stay and so are Venky's. (Which is a farce in my opinion) This is not me burying my head in the sand but looking at a way as Rovers fans we can help keep our club in the Premier League. With Kean in charge and all the negativity around the place then we have no chance. Given that Kean is not leaving, no matter what we do then lets change the only other variable and get all the fans behind the team.
