joey_big_nose Posted November 17, 2011 Posted November 17, 2011 Say you could sell NZonzi for £8m + add-ons, and get in Jermaine Jones for £5m - what would you do? If it means you also have the money for Ibisevic? On current form keep Nzonzi. On the form of the start of the season I would sell him. It really depends if he can keep the quality we have seen recently up.

If it means you also have the money for Ibisevic? That's assuming all money received will end up in the transfer kitty, has this happened so far? No.
joey_big_nose Posted November 17, 2011 Posted November 17, 2011 Also how long has JJ got left at the top - eighteen months? Physical, fitness based, players like him usually really start to struggle at 32.

eire3382 Posted November 17, 2011 Posted November 17, 2011 If we sell him then if last summer is anything to go by don't expect our overlords to release much of the money made.
rog of the rovers Posted November 29, 2011 Posted November 29, 2011 FA Charged him with violent conduct and he will now serve a 3 game ban with immediate effect! Out of Cardiff (a) Swansea (h) Sunderland (a) If the lad had a brain cell he'd be lethal. Totally deserves the punishment IMO!

pick32 Posted November 29, 2011 Posted November 29, 2011 real blow, lets hope petrovic can step up tonight and stake a claim.
bob fleming Posted November 29, 2011 Posted November 29, 2011 real blow, lets hope petrovic can step up tonight and stake a claim. Maybe we could stitch Grellas leg back on for a bit?
rebelmswar Posted November 29, 2011 Posted November 29, 2011 Maybe we could stitch Grellas leg back on for a bit? I am sure he is the absolute inverse of Achilies, if they both met there would be a cataclysm.
magicalmortensleftpeg Posted November 29, 2011 Posted November 29, 2011 He was poor against Stoke but he is our only fit out and out central midfielder... Maybe this requires a phone call to Keith..?
Muddboy Posted November 29, 2011 Posted November 29, 2011 Hopefully we won't miss him too much in the next two games against "lesser" opposition like Cardiff and Swansea. A real chance for Petrovic to pull his finger out and show what he's made of.
Mike Graham Posted November 29, 2011 Posted November 29, 2011 FA Charged him with violent conduct and he will now serve a 3 game ban with immediate effect! Out of Cardiff (a) Swansea (h) Sunderland (a) If the lad had a brain cell he'd be lethal. Totally deserves the punishment IMO! Yep, N'ZOMBI is a pillock brain. He could have been sent off on two occasions before giving that silly free kick away that Stoke scored from. Used his elbow twice. Liability.
Exiled_Rover Posted November 30, 2011 Posted November 30, 2011 A three match ban for that incident is absolutely criminal. If he played for one of the big boys the Premier League wouldn't have batted an eyelid. Absolutely disgusted with this sport.
Mc Love Posted November 30, 2011 Posted November 30, 2011 He deserved a yellow card (if not two) for his display against Stoke. Was like a knacker on the pitch, wasnt impressed by him at all
Jimmy612 Posted November 30, 2011 Posted November 30, 2011 N'Zonzi being arguably our most consistent performer of late. I know it's only Twitter stuff but it's bloody odd how our best players are being sold asap whilst anybody who scores two matches running is dropped! A number of our members don't appear to rate N'Zonzi's contribution to the team. Lets see if they have changed their opinions in 3 2 games time because Steve Kean doesn't appear to believe that a midfielder needs to be able to tackle or defend.
Hughesy Posted November 30, 2011 Posted November 30, 2011 3 game ban thanks to MOTD. No big club would have been highlighted on MOTD like he was. He's an attitude problem and hopefully Kean will play Lowe in midfield now.
LeChuck Posted November 30, 2011 Posted November 30, 2011 No big club would have been highlighted on MOTD like he was. Of course they would have done, it was a big talking point in the game. Why do we have to play the "poor little Rovers" card all the time? We have absolutely no-one who can cover N'Zonzi unless Grella can make a miraculous recovery.
cesus Posted November 30, 2011 Posted November 30, 2011 N'Zonzi has received a ban due to his petulance! Anybody who thinks (as LeChuck says) thinks this is down to little old BRFC syndrome needs to wake up! He threw an elbow and has received a fair punishment. At least it will be two more games I won't have to watch his temper tantrums and needless fouls! Although we quite clearly don't possess a replacement!
Backroom DE. Posted November 30, 2011 Backroom Posted November 30, 2011 3 game ban thanks to MOTD. No big club would have been highlighted on MOTD like he was. He's an attitude problem and hopefully Kean will play Lowe in midfield now. Not true at all, Rooney's elbow on McCarthy against Wigan (I think?) got ridiculous amounts of media attention. N'Zonzi is petulant, it's a problem in his game and one he needs to address quickly. There was no need for him to throw that elbow and it's cost us now. Nobody to blame but himself.
Ricky Posted November 30, 2011 Posted November 30, 2011 Did Rooney get a ban for that though? I'm sure he didn't as he was booked at the time.
thenodrog Posted December 12, 2011 Posted December 12, 2011 A number of our members don't appear to rate N'Zonzi's contribution to the team. Lets see if they have changed their opinions in 3 2 games time because Steve Kean doesn't appear to believe that a midfielder needs to be able to tackle or defend. Spot on Jimmy. I think a few of those erstwhile members cannot help but have had to revaluate their opinions of N'Zonzi's qualies and his contributions to the team since he's been absent. I'd wager Vaughan wouldn't have had such time and space if N'Zonzi had been on the pitch, and whilst we got away with it Swansea wouldn't have kept possession around our box quite so easily and impressively either.
JAL Posted December 13, 2011 Posted December 13, 2011 One of the many problems is finding N'Zonzi a good central midfield partner and not to sell him. Hes part of the future, or do Rovers not have a future, my, maybe i'm mistaken.
