thenodrog Posted November 18, 2011 Posted November 18, 2011 I'm finding it difficult to understand you. The Qataris are not the answer. Really? What is your solution to the current crisis then? Prob just about the only person that would meet all old macca's criteria would normally be found residing in the Vatican. You should write to him Paul. Good luck with that one.
roverwhelmed Posted November 18, 2011 Posted November 18, 2011 Should have had the Qatar flags this weekend with Venkys being at Wigan I'm taking one. Wish I'd got a few more to hand out now. Bit nervous of the reaction from other fans though.
BangkokRover Posted November 18, 2011 Posted November 18, 2011 Should have had the Qatar flags this weekend with Venkys being at Wigan Cant believe no one took up my offer to pay for some flags and then take them along.
Pete1981 Posted November 18, 2011 Author Posted November 18, 2011 Are you sure they will be there? Mike Hall from ITV news has put it on twitter although he got the day wrong mikehallitv Mike Hall Blackburn Rovers owners Venkys WILL attend Sunday's match against Wigan. They're arriving over the weekend #rovers #Venkys
47er Posted November 18, 2011 Posted November 18, 2011 You do know we're not in Indian or Pakistan? I wouldn't risk. Not that I'd be as moronic to burn a nation's flag mind. Missing the point, I'm responding to the idea that burning an Indian flag is somehow racist. It isn't.
thenodrog Posted November 18, 2011 Posted November 18, 2011 Missing the point, I'm responding to the idea that burning an Indian flag is somehow racist. It isn't. 47er you need to understand that there are some on here who think baa baa black sheep is racist and highly offensive to black sheep.
hawkiiz Posted November 18, 2011 Posted November 18, 2011 If I see anyone in a rovers shirt burning Indian flags, or any other nations flags, I swear, they don't deserve to have a PL club to support in the first place.
BangkokRover Posted November 18, 2011 Posted November 18, 2011 If I see anyone in a rovers shirt burning Indian flags, or any other nations flags, I swear, they don't deserve to have a PL club to support in the first place. Here Here why the hell people want to turn this in to a racial issue I have no clue.
Majiball Posted November 18, 2011 Posted November 18, 2011 Missing the point, I'm responding to the idea that burning an Indian flag is somehow racist. It isn't. As always in these issues people don't get context. Think of it as it being acceptable to use the expression 'my Nigger' if your a coloured person as a reference to describe other coloured people. However if a white man uses the same expression in exactly the same context and scenario, it's racist, why? Some people will never be able to distinguish actions and context over simple words as that's all they see. Check out the flag desecration page on Wiki, ctrl + F racism, one result in several pages, go figure.
Rovers_786 Posted November 18, 2011 Posted November 18, 2011 we should stick to the things we be doing at the games, and its a good idea, as if we totally target the venkys things will never be rebuild.
booth Posted November 18, 2011 Posted November 18, 2011 If you're burning anything why not just burn the Venkys logo? It aint Indias fault
martonrover Posted November 18, 2011 Posted November 18, 2011 If you're burning anything why not just burn the Venkys logo? It aint Indias fault That's a better idea
BRFC95 Posted November 18, 2011 Posted November 18, 2011 Just throw a few Indian flags onto the pitch during the game.
Puffsan Posted November 18, 2011 Posted November 18, 2011 Disgracing indian flags is a very bad idea imo. From what i understand Blackburn has a significant population from India, and we really dont want fewer fans do we?
Pedro Posted November 18, 2011 Posted November 18, 2011 Burning a few India flags won't go amiss either so Venky's aren't in any doubt how Rovers supporters feel. That's a bit harsh on the entire Indian nation when it's only three or four of them that we are actually ###### off with.
Bluefudge Posted November 18, 2011 Posted November 18, 2011 I'm sorry, but we Rovers fans don't burn things.... We aren't Dingles waiting in a chippy behind the Burnley managers wife!!!!
he6rt6gr6m Posted November 18, 2011 Posted November 18, 2011 I'm finding it difficult to understand you. The Qataris are not the answer. And your reasoning is because the country is "repressive"? Sorry, but the positives of their interest in this club outweigh your reason for not liking the idea.
Brownie Posted November 18, 2011 Posted November 18, 2011 Personally I hope there are many Qatar flags there tomorrow and it gets reported. If theres a 1% chance the Qataris might come back in, its worth a shot. (as long as its not a Jason Roberts' shot)

It's slapping Venky's ownership in the face on their anniversary without the immaturity. It should the flag of India that we're flying, but Venky's have cocked it up that much that we're seeking a saviour in Qatar!
Ossydave Posted November 18, 2011 Posted November 18, 2011 The idea came a little late unfortunately, but its a good one. I had no idea the venky boys were going tomorrow till I just read the itv reporters tweet

ABBEY Posted November 18, 2011 Posted November 18, 2011 The idea came a little late unfortunately, but its a good one. I had no idea the venky boys were going tomorrow till I just read the itv reporters tweet I hope I see them!! Setting off early on the off chance !
he6rt6gr6m Posted November 18, 2011 Posted November 18, 2011 It could still work all it takes is people to print them out Such a simple design, just get the kids some felt tip pens, and get the wife to cut up a couple of bed sheets. Simple!
