Mercer
I'm sure Glen has good sources of information, but I don't believe that this is the case, maybe the brothers are inclined to sack him but he retains Mrs D's support. That is all he needs. Not sure Mrs D is as strong as you make out otherwise, according to the speculation (she wanted to sell), we would have been under the ownership of QP by now ?!?! Also, where's Roversmum gone ?!?!

glen9mullan
http://www.mirrorfoo...icle834152.html Published 22:29 23/11/11 By Alan Nixon surely LET reported it earlier Firstly Vital Blackburn reported it first over 3 and half weeks ago, secondly the first national that reported was the Daily Mail the day after, and thirdly this deal was not signed over the weekend but was signed just over 2 weeks ago, Niko is wrong (strategically planted and written). The club having to release the details was unavoidable Typical scare tactics to put supporters in check after the weekends events, however a lot happens in a couple of weeks, and his position over the weekend was made much weaker, and the silence from the club, manager and venkys has been deafening

mode_m
there is a Seinfeld episode where George Costanza cant get fired from the Yankees no matter what he does. Surely Kean is trying his best to get fired but a strange set of circumstances see him continually getting promoted.
Mc Love
I am of the opinion that the real reason Kean was offered a revised contract is venkys are planning on moving him to either a new position at the club or maybe he will be heading up the Pune Academy. So when they sort out a replacement manager (hopefully one with experience) Kean can slide into his new role, leaving the new manager take over from where Kean never took off. Get the Academy open while they're still in the Premier League! Then when they go down, and we have our first influx of students, it won't matter!" Another great business idea. I dont think this will happen and if it did I seriously doubt it would appease the fans, I know that I personally wouldnt be happy because he needs to be removed completely from the club. Saying that though I think Venky's are bejyond that point for me now.
ROVERS
enough said...............hence i would summarize...... F*** YOU Keane and Venky! never thought i would need to bear the pain to see the club i love getting relegated again...... RIP
JonnyH
So Steve Kean's pay rise is a reward for narrowly saving us from relegation despite sitting comfortably in mid table when he took over. Isn't that like saving someone from being hit by a train after pushing them on the tracks yourself?!

forumquizmaster
They kept the new deal quiet as I already said, the bond between the Kean family and Mrs Desai is almost unbreakable. I'm not necessarily disagreeing with you but by all accounts she does want rid of Rovers, which means that it isn't totally unbreakable. I'd still like to know why Nixon leaked the contract story when he did though - after all the information has been in his grubby hands for a while now - I still suspect there's something else going on in the background. Hughesy
The article on the hoilett to spurs thread suggests he got a payrise, but is now cheaper to sack..... We shall see! SUPPORT THE TEAM, HATE STEVE KEAN
alexanders
If that is the case it is a clever move. 100K more payrise, 500K less to fire him. 1 match (week) means 100K, 400K Saved.
yoda
More to the point, where's that Ewood Spark chap? They know they have been had by the Raos, Just been watching Sky news, 85% of babies and children in Maharastra are malnurished with a high mortality rate not because food is not available but because the food aid is being stolen and sold as animal feed. The Raos described the Rovers as their baby, GOD HELP US
Guest Rovers4Good
It's funny how Venkys and Kean came out and said that we are a top 10 side but yet they offer him a bonus to keep us up? Just goes to show what we are dealing with here. Kean is running the club with his mate Anderson and if i saw the latter then god help him the slimy weasel. Sacking Kean within a week or two of giving him a new contract would seem insane... sacking him after a contract revision would seem slightly less insane, at least in Venky's eyes it would. Yup, it is clutching at straws. The one constant in Venky's reign of terror has been support for Kean. This new deal is just the icing on the cake. Why would Kean possibly sign a new deal with no extension, and a clause to sack him on the cheap? I'm just resigned to the fact he's here to the bitter end.
