[Archived] Kean seals new Blackburn deal

Just been a clip on 5live from this mornings presser. Steve says he's delighted the contract has been sorted and put to bed. He can now concentrate on guiding the club to the position it deserves to be and continue with our cup runs.

Does this not directly contradict his previous statements saying he had put contract talks on hold until we were in a better position? Did nobody press this further?

just got this from twitter

SunMartinB Martin Blackburn

Another head-scratching morning for the press at brockhall today. You couldn't make it up.

I'd have a lot more time for the journalists throwing vague statements out on Twitter if they bothered to ask, and broadcast/print some decent questions and put the bloke on the spot. Thus far I've seen very little.

"What have you done to earn a new/revised contract?"

"Does this not contradict your previous stance that contract talks would be inappropriate whilst we're in trouble?"

How hard can it be?

Should watch the Sun video of the presser.

Madness, lip licking, and insane grinning.

I agree.

Whats the point of covering press conferences if you dont ask proper questions??

Why ask the same old questions week in week out that nobody is interested in when you actually got quite a unique situation down at Ewood???

I've asked that question many times as well. It's all so very vague and uninteresting.

Just been reading the article on sportinglife which has quotes from his press conference this morning. As usual he comes out with comments that are deliberately set out to antagonise the fans.

http://www.sportinglife.com/football/news/story_get.cgi?STORY_NAME=soccer/11/11/25/SOCCER_Blackburn_Nightlead.html&TEAMHD=soccer&BID=165

He doesn't see an issue at all with him being rewarding with improved terms to his contract, when the simple truth is there is nothing to reward (unless taking a side that was mid table to almost relegation last season is now seen as a major achievement). Once again he continues to make it a war between the players/Kean/owners and the fans, he does nothing whatsoever to try and diffuse the situation instead he fans the flames.

He continues to treat the fans as if they are thick in regards to the Hoilett situation. We know the situation with the contract and that the club have been trying to get him to sign a new deal for some time. I don't believe Kean when he says Hoilett wants to stay.

Let's just say the comments about the illegal corner and his stance don't suprise me.

I agree with this, for some reason he seems to get an easy ride with the majority of the press. You would have thought they have some knowledge of the sport they are covering, they must know how poor our results have been and therefore how much of a joke it looks that he has been 'rewarded'.

He's always talking about "what we are trying to do" and how the players/the owners/the majority of fans(!) "understand" it.

He never explains what it is we are trying to do nor why we never apparently get there. Its all going to work out right in the future that never comes.

what are you moaning about, it doesn't matter that we never win, look absolute rubbish, have clueless owners and are in 19th place.... don't you remember what Kean said the other day? 'There is absolutely no chance we will be relegated'...

ppppppphhhheewwwww

Well at least as Steve says out of six away we've been in the lead four times. That's fantastic news, and here was me worried that games actually last ninety minutes and it's what the score is when they end that matters . I'm going to get pi55ed now. Why did I watch that pillocks interview?

The problem with that Lifes a Pitch clip is they still don't really understand why we are protesting. They still think it is purely because we think we should be top half, not that we potentially see the whole future of the club being jeopardised by bad ownership and management.

Was thinking that too when the guy from the people asked what do Blacknurn fans really want.

SK: "No, the length of the contract is the same. I'm just delighted the owners have backed me and the players are totally behind what we are trying to do.

This the contract that you wernt getting or at least discussing until the club were in a good position? Can you please tell the fans what we are trying to do? You do realise that we have to stop trying and start doing.

SK: "I'm happy now to move on and piece together what we are trying to do."

Again what are we trying to do? Also i notice how you used the words piece together. I think that sums up the mess you have created perfectly.

SK: "His parents and his representatives are speaking with the directors on a daily basis so hopefully they can push it over the line."

Exactly who are the directors at Blackburn Rovers? You? The Owners? What happened to him signing on deadline day?

SK: "What we have to do as a club is make him a good contract offer and I think we have done that"

Obviously not good enough.

SK: "The boy is desperate to sign and I went to Canada to speak to his father and mother myself."

Now I might be wrong but didnt you go to Canada about 3 months ago to see his father? If he is desperate to sign why didnt he sign back then?

To sum up, compulsive lying is the order of the day for you. You spout ###### in interviews, you spout ###### in court and even worse you actually believe the ###### you are spouting.

You were a ###### player and you are an even shitter manager. Enjoy yourself while you can because ill be shocked if you step foot in another football club ever again. The fans will drive you and the owners out of Blackburn Rovers one way or another and we will not rest until you are gone.

Good spot!

Sun's interview with the shifty SK The minor detail he keeps swatting away is only a 300% pay increase according to some commentators.

Come on Philip lets beat around with percentages, I've been told 1.5M million a year. Not too sure how reliable it is but he is a football man.

Or 250,000 pounds per win, bargain.
