[Archived] Kean seals new Blackburn deal

Recommended Posts

It's getting to the point now where I would do time to get these morons out of our club!!!!!!!

If a bunch of rich dingles had taken over the club when Venkys did, even they would have struggled to deliberately screw up our club as bad as Venkys have.

What a mess, an absolute mess.

Contracts? Contracts mean nothing if you want to break them except for the resultant settlement.

Its a cheap option for Venkys to stick with Kean and they seem to be loyal to him.

Like it or not we need to hope that Kean turns the corner because it doesn't look like the manager will disappear for a while yet and I love Roivers more than I hate Kean. The same goes for the owners, I will be happier if they dig deep into their own funds in January and I just hope, more desperately now than before, that its not too late.

Thinking about this now I've calmed down a bit, but could it not be the case that Kean did in fact sign a new contract and the club i.e Goebells Agnew was waiting for a win to release it, obviously the Chuckle brothers were not happy with what they heard and saw at Wigan and realised they have been duped again, a certain agent has got wind of the chuckle brothers thinking about potting Kean and released the story to his fav media pet to try and discredit the chuckle brothers if they do actually try to sack him after giving him a new contract.

That certainly sounds plausible!

You should be pleased roversider. As long as the players are playing for their manager, you'll back him.

In 2 years time, when the club is dead and buried and the reality of what really is happening has come out,the Premiership will

simply issue a statement along the lines,we now have new rules to ensure this never happens again.

In the meantime Kean arrogantly goes on his weekly country pub crawls unapprehended..........Is'nt there a Clitheroe Rovers supporters club ?

Well there's me but I haven't bumped into him anywhere around. And I'm a non-violent little old lady so I'd not be much good.

Blackburn Rovers boss Steve Kean puts contract talks on hold until results improve

The 44-year-old has broken off discussions with owners Venky’s over fresh terms, calling it an “inappropriate time” due to the clubs recent string of poor results

http://www.goal.com/en-gb/news/2896/premier-league/2011/11/22/2769491/blackburn-rovers-boss-steve-kean-puts-contract-talks-on-hold?

The 44-year-old has already faced a number of fan protests over his position at the club's helm, but the former Fulham and Coventry assistant manager has declared his intention to pen a new contract at Ewood Park until 2015, as soon as results on the pitch improve.

"Yes, there have been discussions about a new contract, but I have told the owners that this is an inappropriate time to conclude any new contract discussions,” Kean told ESPNsoccernet.

“Instead, the real issue is for me and everyone else to concentrate on the games. The fact that the owners have talked to me about a new contract means that they can see what we are building here, and we hope to make others see it too.

''We need to turn the last remaining negatives into positives, and the vast majority of the fans can see that our performances deserve to be six or seven points better off and halfway up the table, those fans have seen for themselves what has happened in certain games when we deserved more from our performances. That will come."

Smashed my phone in the wall reading the news. Wife telling at me and telling me to see the shrink. This is not good for me and my family. Im not able to not let it affect me massively.

i think your wife has a point, try some breathing exercises and store the energy for matchdays.

You've made a fool of yourself over the Venkeymob so it's harsh but a good lesson learnt for you imy.

As opposed to someone who makes a fool out of himself with his general views? I am not a bitter and twisted cynic and am glad, I learn new things every day and views are not so narrow or prejudiced that I dismiss people before I know anything about them. Are my views clear or do you need me to make them clearer?

Pleased? I have followed Rovers long and hard and this hurts me as much as anyone. Give me strength. I have always said for me that the final straw is when the team won't back the manager, Saturday against Wigan showed cracks. Don't you dare infer how I feel, the truth is I am very angry about how the situation is going.

Where are the club reps on the radio?

It has become clear that these b'stads want to break OUR club and break it for good....why or what we have done to deseve this is totally beyond me.

Its time the whole of Blackburn stood shoulder to shoulder to protect this fine and proud 136 year old English footballing institution..this really is awful news today,a real two fingered salute to all Rovers fans everywhere.

Furious. :angry2:

How are they out of touch, Philip? They just needlessly gave our worst-ever manager a 25 grand a week contract.

It is obvious now that they do not care about Rovers at all. Quite the opposite.

There is obviously something very shady going on. This is not logical. It does not make sense.

Any "fans" still backing these "owners" and this "manager"?

Absolutely, I've been saying this for some time. Things are not as they appear at the club - they're even worse IMO. There is no way anybody could make sense of giving Kean a new contract with a higher wage that makes him even more expensive to sack. There isn't a single results-based excuse that can be given as justification.

Nobody is this stupid or naive, not even Venky's.

The Club refused the invitation to send a rep to the Radio Lancashire forum.

Speechless, but as I said when the rumours broke, that's me done with Venkys and Kean until order is restored. I can only attend about 10-12 games a season due to my location but I'm not putting a single penny into the club after the disrespect that they've shown me and every single one of you. Some people have put their lives into the club yet been treated like gutter dogs. It's going to be hard but I can't follow the 'club' like this.

I blame the Tories. Rovers were a respected well-run club under Labour but since the nasty party came to power in 2010 the country and the Rovers have gone down the pan.

Seriously, Steve Kean should be careful. This news plus a bad result in the next match at Stoke and some fans might not be responsible for their actions. And who would blame them ?

No, exactly.

This proves for certain that something is seriously, seriously wrong at the club.

There is no footballing reason to give Kean a new contract.

However, they obviously WANT to give him more money. Now, who was instrumental in hiring him? Who gains from him getting a bumper new contract? Who has had family members financially benefit from Kean being charge at Blackburn Rovers?

There´s only one answer.

I don't think anyone could put a good spin on the Raos Jim, not even Alastair!

What sort of people are we dealing with here? where's the reponsibility, where's the duty of care?

AARRRGGHHHHHH!

I think we all know the answer to that question now. How long will it take before the football authorities take an interest in this, surely they have a duty to prevent a club being deliberately run into the ground.
