I thought the booing started when Kean turned to the Blackburn End fists pumping as Yak turned away?

You can't have it both ways, the fans were slagged off for being 'fickle' for only turning on Kean when behind, for him to still be booed when in a lead speaks volumes.

As I saw it there was a major vocal booing when Yak ran towards the dug out and high fived Kean

Whilst I’m no fan of Kean or Venky, I was appalled at the booing after the Yak scored. I got the impression from some supporters around me yesterday that they would have preferred that Rovers had been beaten, than collecting three valuable points.

How anyone who calls themselves a fan could have wished a defeat, when at the present time every point counts is beyond me.

Protest about the manager as much as you like ,chant Kean out, Venkys out or stand up if you hate Kean by all means, but booing your own players in my opinion is disgracefull.

The booing only started when Yak ran over to Kean ie the booing was aimed directly at Kean and nobody else.

Further proof, if proof be needed, that we support the team but want Kean out.

Its a distinction the media and Kean miss but Rovers fans should know better.

Having watched it again onMotd, the booing clearly starts AFTER Yak has high fived Kean and gone away. I knew I was right earlier but others still wanted to say it started as soon as Yak started running to Kean, which it didnt.

That was my impression in the BBE. Kean dosn't seem to have any concept of discretion which clearly dosn't help his cause.

Interesting to hear Phillipl's take on Yak's celebration with the beleaguered boss?

There is, you can request via the thread in Ask Admin.

Are you going to share your previous handle or are you looking for a fresh start?

... that's something we have no problem with and it often beneficial for people looking for a fresh start, but yes, if anyone else wants their name changing, drop Ste or I a PM or post in the "can I change my name" thread in Ask Admin.

Now, back to protests ....

i was sat close too yhe dugout and from what i so the booing started a few seconds before yak hi fived kean, the booing started when kean who had been stood motionless right on the edge of the managers area for most of the game untill yak scored then kean took a few steps onto the playing surface as yak was celebrating, it was his presance on the playing surface that triggered the booing.

p.s.

my previous handle is hardly worth mentioning as im not a known member(i dont think).

Seems to me that some of our best performances and results have come when fans have protested - Arsenal, Wigan, yesterday - Hardly seems protesting during the game was detrimental to the players' performance levels

You're not the only one who's noticed. :tu:

kamy is not one for putting out names willy nilly. Having asked a question on the new manager thread about Souness. I suggest it may be a good idea for those who are able. To get to ewood tomorrow - when board meeting is on - showing support - chanting and banners etc, for Souness in, Kean out.

Souness may not be everybodies ideal choice. But if it gets rid of Kean - it becomes a good choice. Even for those who don't think Dunn should be playing, souness will not pick him - unless he has too.

Rovers have a better chance of staying in the prem with Souness. But no chance with Kean. Even if it is just to the end of the season.

If the only choice we have is Souness or Kean !!!!!!

also from where i was sat the protesting sounded quite tame, the majority of what i heard was coming from a few hundred(at most) in the corner of the darwen end and a few patches in the blackburn end, there was no protesting around me at all but it was the jack walker stand or part time supporter stand(as i like to call it), regretting buying my 3 for £20 tickets in that stand now(was a pretty sterile atmosphere).

kean out.

Glen or someone else should talk to the media and get those facts straight. Seems like the media enjoyed slagging off the fans for booing, so they should be interested to hearing the story behind it.

Fantastic reaction to boo Kean at that particular moment. Just a damn shame that Kean and the media "misinterpreted" it!

100 % Rovers - 0 % Kean & Venkys!!

Alan it was aimed at kean and kean only!!!!!

I know that Abs, however the timing was bad as it coincided with Yak scoring and running over to Kean.

Kean should have been getting a ear full everytime he stood in the technical area.

Any man with any sense of decency should have stayed out of the limelight - but what do you expect from Mr Onepercent.

While I'd be happy with Souey back, I don't think he should be our no. 1 choice. I think the emphasis should be on Kean out and Venky's out. People are so easy to forget - what have Venky's done for the club that any other fan couldn't do? They have not put any money into the club.

Don't anybody be despondent with the protests yesterday. I thought they went well. The fact that the media attention lingers on the crowds reaction to Kean when we were winning instead of the win itself is a major plus. It is irrelevant whether the media is positive or negative on the matter. It keeps the protests in the headlines, shows we are not happy regardless of a win and keeps the pressure up. Had that crowd reaction not happened yesterday the pressure would certainly have eased on SK.

With regards to the numbers, there are probably thousands of fans who, whilst still genuine supporters, are more casual than the rest of us. They go to the game on a Saturday and then probably don't think much of Rovers until the next home game comes around. They certainly don't spend every day on messageboards and scouring the web for news. Their support of Rovers is generally a match day thing. These people (of which my Dad and next door neighbours are examples of) are not going to display banners on a match day or stop behind for the after matchprotest. That doesn't mean they don't want Kean gone. The 'stand up if you want Kean out' chant was the most telling point of all of the protests so far. Over half the ground seemed to stand. That was the moment where the casual fans agreed with the protests and joined in. That was the moment that showed us, Kean and anyone of power who was there that the silent majority agree.

It might appear that protesting is doing no good but that's not true. We are not going to get rid of Kean with one knockout blow, it's going to be a sustained bout of pressure. Rope a dope you may say.

Sorry, Alan, but I cannot accept that any Rovers fan could possibly interpret the booing of Kean as in any way booing the Yak (or any other player).

I can just about see how some in the media could interpret it as jointly booing Yak AND Kean, but any BRFCS follower MUST understand that it was Kean and Kean alone who was being booed. I am convinced Yak and all the Rovers players and entourage also knew this.

The crowd were fair and supportive to the players, except for the usual dogs abuse dished out to Dunny. Dunn is not our No 1 enemy, he is a local lad who is past his best but who will play when selected. He is 60% fit and would do a job for one last season if 95% fit which will only come with time on the pitch.
