The media haven't turned on the protestors, they've turned on the spontaneous decision of some fans to boo Yakubu because he celebrated with Kean. Which to be fair was going a step too far and isn't something I can understand. We've just scored a wonder goal to go 1-0 up, who cares what Yakubu's up to? The old fashioned thing to do to celebrate a goal was to jump around like a madman and hug the people next to you, I'll bet thats what most of the fans around where I am near the back of the DE were doing. To just stand there watching Yakubu and immediately booing him really is pathetic. And I wouldn't be surprised if its the same type of fans who give people like Roberts, Dunn and Pedersen stick all the time. I doubt Glenn approved of it so I don't think the organised protestors should get the blame.

The people who think we booed because we scored or because Yakubu celebrated with Kean either weren't there or weren't watching.

What happened was as he went to Kean, just before Yak was in shot, the big screen switched to Keans ugly mug which is when the boos came.

Anyone who thinks beating Swansea, a terrible team by any measure who can't even score at home but managed 2 at Ewood, makes Kean any better than he was before is, I fear, mistaken.

He has a lot of questions to answer about his part in the takeover, several staff departures, his cozy relationship with the one in standby mode, gold smuggling, being ridiculously rewarded with a new contract, inability to keep the right side of the law, comtempt for fans even before the boos started, extremely dodgy relationship with agents and the signings of Ribeiro and Anderson, not to mention turning a decent team into an awful one.

Kean has put himself firmly up the backside of the Venkys, stuck 2 fingers up to the fans and must now take the consequences.

As far as his football career is concerned, no one will go anywhere near the guy after he leaves, not just for football reasons.

If Venkys knew anything at all about football (my 1 year old knows more) they would realise that once a manager reaches this level of distain and abuse amongst fans it will never change.

Humiliate him..........."Keano Keano give us a wave Keano give us a wave".......Then burst into BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO when the idiot smiles and waves.

Sing it every 10 minutes.

Class that would be!!

IMO one thing is certain - Glen & Simon (and I'm sure others who I don't know by name) must keep on with organising protests so that we 'do not go gentle'

I was going to try to adapt the poem to the Rovers cause but it's such a beautiful poem that any amendment would almost be wrong.

Please read it and think of Rovers.

Do not go gentle into that good night,

Old age should burn and rave at close of day;

Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

Though wise men at their end know dark is right,

Because their words had forked no lightning they

Do not go gentle into that good night.

Good men, the last wave by, crying how bright

Their frail deeds might have danced in a green bay,

Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

Wild men who caught and sang the sun in flight,

And learn, too late, they grieved it on its way,

Do not go gentle into that good night.

Grave men, near death, who see with blinding sight

Blind eyes could blaze like meteors and be gay,

Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

And you, my father, there on the sad height,

Curse, bless me now with your fierce tears, I pray.

Do not go gentle into that good night.

Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

Not true at all. I am not able to do anything at all, from.where I live.

Then don't criticise fans who are trying to save the club. Sitting in the comfort of an armchair on the south coast doing nothing is not going to help Rovers in their current predicament.

To the media fans booing when yakubu went over to Kean was madness. That part on Saturday was a big mistake.

It was when Kean's face appeared on the big screen the boo happened! Mistake on the part of the big screen people I think to put the manager on the screen at that moment. It was spontaneous and not something planned, how was anyone supposed to know they were going to put his grinning face up on the screen?

I do wish the fans wouldn't boo though. Chanting yes, it has a clear direction. Booing as we've seen, can lead to people making wrong assumptions about why it happened and who it was aimed at.

NO ONE can do anything.

I applaud the protesters for making a stand but what has it all achieved? People keep saying the pressure's mounting. Yup, so much so Kean got a new contract and remains as cushy as ever. And that's no slight on the protester's efforts, it's just the insurmountable problem we find at the club. I still think mass boycotts would speak volumes and could not be misconstrued in the same way as the booing/protesting, but people will never go in for it.

Rubber chickens currently £2.75 in Aldi. Ideal for choking.

Also my cluck off Venkys banner is ready to go.

Mass burning of 1875 chickens at next home game? I'll bring two - one for me and my lad's STs.

And if there's still no joy then boycotting KFCs... then all chicken based products... and if we keep on being ignored, plus being slagged off by the likes of Mr Kentaro Nicholas on Soccer Saturday etc, we need 1875 deaths by way of hunger strikes.

Well its now or never time for Rovers. We have 2 home games we need to win. Anything bar 2 wins isnt enough considering the two games afterwards are L'pool and Man U, which I dont think anyone can seriously hope for anything from.

The question is, do the protests stop for these next 2 games, or should they continue?

Continue, but against Venkys. Forget Kean now, Kean Out hasnt worked, Venky's out will likely get more positive media coverage for the fans.

Just a thought.on that. We have been told Balaji is the one who voted against selling the club. Why not target him. If he gets negative publicity he may change his mind.

protests only work when we lose, we all know this, if we win the protests have a negative impact on the protesters themselves, infact it almost supports Kean in the national press if fans protest after a win, becuase the nation doesn;t understand.

The biggest issue with protest at present is so many are losing sight at what they are protesting about, too many are making it personal and don't see past Steve Kean.

If you protest before games people complain, if you protest during games people complain and if you protest after games people complain, before and after also struggles to get the required numbers to make an impact, as people believe that you are protesting to yourself. If you win the match, (which we all want to do) then after match numbers also take a hit and people spin it that you are protesting when you have won. When we have lost people spin it that they never expected us to beat the teams we lost to, and accuse us of protesting at unwinnable games.

We have tried to get people to focus more on Venkys, but the majority who protest cannot see past Steve Kean and the results, which is not a dig at them as not everyone reads forums and not everyone is as well informed of the off the pitch issues.

If you don't protest at all then you have resigned yourself to what will be will be, so its kind of being stuck between a rock and a hard place. I have always thought that if for once over the last 3 months the whole crowd participated in a pre or post match element of a protest then Kean would no longer be here, and Venkys would of got a grip. Unfortuately for one reason or another that has not happened, Many say spontaneous protest work better, but the press have tore us to pieces when this has happened.

Where do we go from here? How do we get everyone involved? How do you get people to ficus on Venkys, as ultimately they will be the one who pulls the trigger, but if they aint there will protest against them have any effect?

I think Rovers is a very unique situation as at any other club, the protest would of seen the Manager removed, but here the infrastructure and way the club is run is so different.

Pelting the field with rubber chickens pre-game sounds like a good plan to me.

Which will result in an instant removal from the ground and possible ban.

Until Glen etc realise they need the support of local peopls, thoso who have interest in football. The protests will always remain small.

Those people need to learn that relegation will affect the town as a whole. Bare in mind there are many Indian people living un blackburn, who may have contacts in pune. If it is explained to them the detriment to the local business community in the area. They could join and help the.protests.

It may not work. But must be worth a try.

Sorry but you are wrong - over 99% of the Aisan population are of Pakistani dissent.

Don't mean to be rude but have you actually ever been to Blackburn?

In order for any protest to be successful, the owners would have to hold at the very least, a tiny amount of care for the club.

They don't. I think it is a hopeless case. If Peta couldn't force Mrs Desai's hand....Rovers fans won't.

Wrong. I think you will find that there is a mix of both Pakistan and Indian folk. But a mute point, it matters not.

The population as a whole need to be made aware that the business community could be affected if Rovers are relegated..

As to your question about have I ever been to blackburn. I was there this morning. In fact I have been going to blackburn & darwen most the day. Using both the no1 & 225 bus :)

Blackburn's Asian population is almost entirely Muslim, but split betwween Indian and Pakistani.

I think if they got involved in any protest, even for none football reasons. It would help. It is worth trying in my view. After all, if Rovers are relegated the business community as a whole will be affected. Nobody likes losing money.
