I agree that meeting with Kean is a bad move. The rat would only use the meeting as one of his many excuses to save his own skin.

Nothing he says can be taken seriously, so a discussion appears pointless.

In my opinion fans should only communicate with him through verbal abuse.

Sadly I think venkys will just dig their heals in no matter what supporters do or don't do.

Cannot help thinking that they are not the type of people to allow themselves to be dictated too.

Sadly there is nothing the premier league, government, supporters etc can do to force venkys or any other owner to put money into a club. Even worse, if an owner wanted a club to be run down so it goes out of business. They are.no powers to stop them.THat to me is also.wrong. There is no court of arbitation between owners and supporters. If an owner if a business want to close it down there.is nothing to stop them.

I believe it is possible that venkys are that type.of people. I think it is plain to see they are digging.their.heals.in.

Can a takeover be forced??

It's difficult to get my head round the idea that the fans are having to beg and work hard to just get a meeting with the club, you would think the club would be going out of it's way to arrange meetings with the fans (it's main stakeholders) to resolve the situation.

The fact they have been reluctant to hear fans' concerns Just shows how little they care about what the fans think.

The sole purpose of the meeting should be to tell him we don`1t want him in the managers job. That way nothing can be misconstrued and he cant go back to the owners emphasising other not as pressing issues.Everything else should be backseated until that is achieved.Lets not give him any wiggle room.

This is the utter absurdity of it all..we have to go grovelling to them! :angry2:

I am not knocking the organisers for their efforts in organising the protests but when the same people do an about-face and change their positions then ANY further protests are doomed to failure and their credibility is worth nothing

Reading the quotes of Glen Mullan in the LET 'We are in advanced discussions with the club and we are very, very pleased with the progress that has been made' DO YOU MIND TELLING ME WHAT PROGRESS??... 'we remain committed to trying to open up lines of communication with the club for the fans that can stay there for a long time'... I didn't realise that the protests were about communication, i thought it was about getting rid of kean and venkys??

PATHETIC.

I am genuinely struggling to see what good talking to Kean will do. What do you hope it will achieve, Glen? There is nothing he could possibly do (other than resign and we all know that's not going to happen)or say that would get the majority of us back onside. I don't blame you for trying to get answers from the club about other issues, if indeed anyone at the club knows what is going on, but the basic fact is, we know Kean is an appalling manager judged purely on results and we want rid of him and will go on wanting rid of him whatever anyone says.

I have a number of thoughts about this:

1. The meeting with Steve Kean is lunacy. It is the equivalent of meeting your child's kidnapper and rather than asking for your child back, you talk about how to make the kidnap work best for all parties. The man is going to come out with nothing but positive statements that will understandably be met with anger. This will then result in Kean saying 'Well I told them that I'm going to get us out of this but I don't think the fans care, all they did was shout' or something equally as odd.

2. Although Glen and Simon have done amazing things in getting our plight into the press, the protests created a weird situation. Ordinarily the calls for a manager to be fired happen organically but the protests came in slightly before this happened. Therefore when the crowd turned totally anti-Kean there was still this division of protest / anti protest. Kean simply had to hide behind the anti-protesters and pass it off as fan support for him. I believe that if we allow things to happen organically once more people will start to act how they should have been acting at the end of last season.

The sad thing is though, nothing will alter Desai's position on this and I do mean nothing. With this in mind, maybe certain people on here on correct.....perhaps we should walk towards the fire with our eyes wide open, we should walk towards it with hope in our hearts and smiles on our faces. God Bless Venkys for allowing us all to burn in their fire...Bless them forever!

I feel really glad that I am not in the UK as it's got to a stage where if I was near to Coco I could not be sure of what would happen.

I was going to pay a visit around now to take in the WBA and Bolton home games but decided to put it off as I knew it would not be an enjoyable experience.

I always treat some members of my family to seats in the JW when I'm back so Rovers have lost that plus what I would have spent in the RoversStore.

After near 50 years of following Rovers the Punks from Pune and Coco have just about killed my love affair with what I thought was my team.

It makes me cry to lose something I loved, Rovers, and I'm not ashamed to admit that.

The Fans Forum lost all credibility after their abortive Venky-sponsored PR-exercise trip to Pune and unless Glen can come out of the meeting with Kean's resignation letter (highly unlikely !!) I'm afraid this meeting will be seen in the same light.

The first question I would fire at him would be - would you resign if it looked like you were taking rovers down?

He has already said once that he's not that type of guy. He won't quit because he believes in what they're trying to achieve.

His problem is what they're trying to achieve and what they are actually achieving are miles apart.

I hope fans keep chanting at Kean and Venky's despite nothing being organised - as well as cheer for the players of course.

It's too late to pull out now though as if a meeting was arranged and then cancelled Kean already has the high ground.

I have to say as well i disagree with the level of success to this point but obviously I am not privy to the full details I suppose if the family are there for a full minuted meeting it is a step on from what happened in Pune and one of the things we asked for when out there but hoped it wouldn't go this far.

Let's just hope they keep promises this time

If he said that, then I would say no Steve, that's now what I'm asking you. Would you put rovers survival in the PL, before your career at the club? Which is the most important to you?

We all know the bloomin' answer, but I would want him to give a straight reply to a straight question.

Anyway, I wouldn't talk to him.

Was reflecting with my work colleague yesterday on the time we met Steve Kean, if only we knew at the time! To be fair, Kean was decent enough to chat to however he should not be manager of our club, we deserve better.

As much as I really do appreciate the efforts made by Glen,I don't see what a meeting with Kean will achieve other than making fans really angry at his bullsh1t in the flesh.

Why don't the club work with the protesters and bin Kean instead of all these meetings which are IMO all smoke and mirrors/PR like the trip to Pune.

More nonsense from the clueless idiots in Pune.

Got to agree with Jim on this Glen. To date you have achieved a lot but I fear this could be a big mistake. There is absolutley no chance that Kean+cronies will be going into this meeting for a good old heart-to-heart. You are being suckered into a PR-trap and unless you are barrister-like in debate or have a few aces hidden up your sleeve, I would suggest some serious thought is given to cancelling the meeting. There are many ways you can spin this but I would just go with the truth. And that should be that the guy isn't trustworty, has spoken untruth after lie after downright bullpoo - he does not deserve to be debating the future of BRFC with supporters that have the long-term interests of the club at heart. Just give it some serious thought please.

Oh and by the way don't take any notice of what TomM is saying above - some waffle about it being too late to backdown and what would it look like? - maybe that's what he was thinking about before his ill-fated Pune trip? Maybe he's hoping you fall into the same trap and end up becoming the next Patsy?
