mimmsy01 Posted December 16, 2011 Posted December 16, 2011 Good original idea but problem I can foresee is that if there are any libelious/defammatory comments, the site may have to be shut down if the flunkys threaten legal action against the site owner, etc. Definitely agree though that the www is the battle-ground for 'hearts and minds' Good point. I suppose you could go down the route of just sticking to facts and attributable quotes eg... Kean "We're aiming for champions league" - Rovers have won 20% of their matches in 12 months and are in relegation zone. Venkys "we will invest substantial amount into the club and transfers" - Sold X amount of players for £Xmillions and bought £Xmillions in - no investment etc etc Obviously those quotes and stats are off the top of my head but I know a lot of people on these boards have that sort of info in their heads and could be researched quite easily. You could then maybe have a (vetted) fans comments section where fans give an assessment of supporting rovers in the past 12 months - no name calling or anythng silly just 'customer comments', things like DE4life's great post from the other day.

booth Posted December 16, 2011 Posted December 16, 2011 Glen, Please can you confirm if the meeting with Kean will be recorded (not minuted)? Without this recording, you leave yourself open to criticism, and allow Kean a gap to exploit. It needs to be on camera, if not on camera it shouldn't happen. Then the reasons given to the press for it not happening is that Steve Kean would not allow it to be filmed. They can draw their own conclusions about why he does not want this filming. Otherwise he will exploit this. He already is. Watch the film Frost/Nixon
J*B Posted December 16, 2011 Posted December 16, 2011 Glenn, if you need someone to record the meeting, I will happily record the full meeting on high spec audio recording equipment. I'll give you the file within 12 hours, unedited. I won't speak during the meeting, infact once it's set up ill leave the room. My payment? I don't want money, expenses, recognition in any format. But you've got to promise to release the file via an independent website (BBC, LET) within 24 hours of me giving you the file. If you'd prefer I will also bring down a freelance camera operator, plus all his equipment, and we'll film it. Obviously we will need to stay in the room for this option. Just give me 3 days notice.
Sparky Marky Posted December 16, 2011 Posted December 16, 2011 That will never happen. Does Mr Mullan have any control in this area?
J*B Posted December 16, 2011 Posted December 16, 2011 That will never happen. Does Mr Mullan have any control in this area? I assume so, if he demanded the meeting he may as well demand it's recorded. Lets have a bit more bite about us.
Kamy100 Posted December 16, 2011 Posted December 16, 2011 This would be controlled by Paul Agnew and I suspect that he wouldn't want any of it recording unless it was done in a very controlled environment.
J*B Posted December 16, 2011 Posted December 16, 2011 This would be controlled by Paul Agnew and I suspect that he wouldn't want any of it recording unless it was done in a very controlled environment. I can see his front door currently, i wonder how he'd react if I gave him a knock to ask!
LeChuck Posted December 16, 2011 Posted December 16, 2011 Please can someone ask him why he hasn't tried to help his lack of experience by appointing experienced staff below him? John Jensen had no Premier League experience. Paul Clement was an assistant coach - a few levels before his current position. Ian Brunksill was with the reserves Mark Hughes had the likes of Bowen and Niedzwiecki, Sam Allardyce had McDonald and Kean himself. Even it was important to top managers like those two to have top backroom staff, why did Kean think it ok to go for people with no experience at the job he was giving them?

Think you've got to say that is probably going to be the same reason why Kean was given the job with no experience. Also Jensen was on Kentaro's books just like Kean. The owners should accept full responsibility for this but they have been hoodwicked at somepoint by someone (Shhhhh Anderson) and this has now spiraled out of control to the fact that we don't know who does what and when. We should change our name to Club Shambles LOL
booth Posted December 16, 2011 Posted December 16, 2011 This would be controlled by Paul Agnew and I suspect that he wouldn't want any of it recording unless it was done in a very controlled environment. In that case it's up to Steve Kean to call off the meeting. Turn up, set up your camera and recording devices, if you're asked to switch them off then say to them that it's going to be recorded like it or not and that after the event you will send him a copy at his request. The ball is then in their court. There is absolutely nothing unreasonable about that. If Kean leaves then you've got it on camera that he wasn't willing to be recorded. Roger Cook did it all the time. Issue a statement saying that Kean called off the meeting, or was advised to.

Also Jensen was on Kentaro's books just like Kean. Clement is an old mate of Kean's and it was surely he that wanted to get rid of Jensen and appoint Clement? Perhaps the promotion of Brunskill is down to the lack of funds for coaches, but I think Kean has to take responsibility for have an assistant first team coach (i.e. lower than Kean's role under Allardyce) as an assistant manager.
glen9mullan Posted December 16, 2011 Posted December 16, 2011 This would be controlled by Paul Agnew and I suspect that he wouldn't want any of it recording unless it was done in a very ceontrolled envwironment. We have made it clear no PR present for the meeting, and although we have not discussed taping it, or recording it, Do you think he would answer the questions under that sort of environment? As I understand it the meeting will be overseen by possibly the Police only
Backroom DE. Posted December 16, 2011 Backroom Posted December 16, 2011 Would like to retract my comments regarding the Kean meeting - having spoken with Glen I'm confident he's got the club's best interests at heart. Hope all goes well and things start to improve very soon, the club desperately needs it.

I thought everything was going to be out in the open.

That would be unwise, as answers can be prepared in advance
Backroom Tom Posted December 16, 2011 Backroom Posted December 16, 2011 I read it differently, I thought Ste was asking about the reasons for the protest and why the club is in trouble, it's been said 99.9% of people aren't aware of the problems, maybe they need to be?

That would be unwise, as answers can be prepared in advance That's the respectable way of doing things Glen. No harm in anyone knowing the questions in advance - in fact, it prevents the "I'll have to get back on that one" cop out.

Well as you guys are on the fans fourm I'm sure you can get the answers too or go and ask the questions, What this has to do with meeting Kean I don't know, as his results are a big enough problem and the supporters are pretty much as one on wanting him removed. In addition as the agenda has been set by many of these boards regarding the other meeting, Then its already in the public domian bar the answers

Bit of both to be fair, most people see only the results side of things so turn on Kean, then Venkys after they see no action there. As regards the meeting, I can understand keeping a couple of bargaining points back, but sometimes you do need to give a bit of a heads up of whats going to be asked - Obviously on those points Kean will be well schooled in advance on how to say it. Lets face it 95% of the meeting will be on points already on this board, or mentioned when Kamy spoke to Kean albeit things have moved on since then. As for a previous point about the Pune trip - in hindsight we should have done a QA with Andy Cryer/Bayes and a few fans, that would have helped put the message out a lot clearer. It wouldnt have been speaking for the whole group, but may have put others minds at rest.

In addition as the agenda has been set by many of these boards regarding the other meeting, Then its already in the public domian bar the answers To be fair if 99.9% of people aren't aware of the problems it's unlikely the 20 or so members of the FF would be, I have heard twitter rumours which have been denied by the club but no more. 100% behind the fact that his results and that alone are problem enough to warrant anyone wanting him out of the club though. I don't myself see the benefit of a meeting with him but I also don't think it will do harm as I have previously stated my opninion on his position. Any idea in what form the council will be producing the minutes? Is it likely to be a press release to various media or hosted on a website? Ste - fully agree with that last point made above, at least that wont happen this time as the minutes are being made independently (wise move IMO)

The sort of things asked are the questions many keep asking on here, Things like the things which comes out of his mouth and contempt for supporters, Transfers (Who picks em, Hope he as a good answer to that :-) and issues surorunding football, and where he fits in the chain of command (I.e he dont answer to the board, therfore is he more senior?) Many many questions remian unanswered and i'm sure all those who go will have their own questions and follow up questions to the answers he gives

I must add that the supporters attending are the ones which volunteered at the open supporters meeting and have a mixture of opinions, some are anti protest, whilst the ages range around the last 50 years of support. Some are BRFCS users and some are non internet users
