ChrisyG Posted December 16, 2011 Posted December 16, 2011 Exactly. It's really coming to a head now. I think this statement will also bring the supporters together and help stop the bickering.

yoda's brother Posted December 16, 2011 Posted December 16, 2011 Exactly. It's really coming to a head now. I think this statement will also bring the supporters together and help stop the bickering. maybe, but only if the supporters see it. how will the majority of fans know about this. is it going to be distributed at the ground tomorrow. not all the fans are on here.
ChrisyG Posted December 16, 2011 Posted December 16, 2011 maybe, but only if the supporters see it. how will the majority of fans know about this. is it going to be distributed at the ground tomorrow. not all the fans are on here. True. Might be jumping the gun a bit. I would have thought they had a plan for distributing the statement though. Hopefully it will make it to the papers by tomorrow.
ABBEY Posted December 16, 2011 Posted December 16, 2011 If it ain't published big then it will be......what statement? Not having a pop btw.
winstonsmith Posted December 16, 2011 Posted December 16, 2011 That is one hell of a statement given the people who have signed it. Should have big repercussions! It would have been one hell of a statement had it not avoided the main issue - the need to dispense with Kean's services immediately and 'engage' a proper manager. Why do people pretend that somehow Rovers would be all right if only Venky's would talk to us ! What good is talk ? It is action we need. Like every Rovers fan, those 'important' people know what the problem is - that our manager is useless - and what the solution is - replace him now ! It would help immensely if such people could issue a statement making a clear call for a proper manager to be appointed. This statement is just hand-wringing waffle and a wasted opportunity. KEAN OUT NOW
Neil Weaver Posted December 17, 2011 Posted December 17, 2011 Can't agree on that Winston. That statement is aimed well and truly at the owners. Get them to see sense and a natural consequence is Kean has no future. The group who issued it (MPs etc) are aiming at the organ grinder not the monkey, which I'd say is the right approach. It's the fans role to operate at the playing/managerial level : events of the last few weeks have shown we can't have much impact with the owners.
Backroom Tom Posted December 17, 2011 Backroom Posted December 17, 2011 Nzonzi is the latest to criticise the protests in Saturdays sun, he says he knows it's because the fans love the team but it isn't helpful to the players. Not that it's made a difference to results in honesty but it doesn't seem like they enjoy playing at ewood at present.
RoyRover Posted December 17, 2011 Posted December 17, 2011 Good God, that statement doesn't mince it's words. It certainly puts the owners on the spot and makes sure that the only response which they can give is one of actions and not just empty statements.
Paul Posted December 17, 2011 Posted December 17, 2011 maybe, but only if the supporters see it. how will the majority of fans know about this. is it going to be distributed at the ground tomorrow. not all the fans are on here. It's bound to be all over the LT and I feel sure several of the nationals will run with it. Elected politicians and important local business leaders don't make such statements without attracting attention.

I haven't read the article but again... a player, who is getting a nice pay-packet every week and who's actions cost us his services for 2 important premiership games having a go at supporters, who have to part with hard earned cash to watch below par displays from himself and his colleagues?? Bleating players need to stand up and be counted and look at themselves for once because when the proverbial hits the fan (hopefully not literally) we all know where they will be. 'king 'anchors
Bluefudge Posted December 17, 2011 Posted December 17, 2011 Very little time for the lad. He will be more interested in his DJ set tonight at the usual Manchester club, than our game today.
Backroom DE. Posted December 17, 2011 Backroom Posted December 17, 2011 N'Zonzi trying to tell the fans what's good for the team what's not good for the team is having a player suspended for throwing elbows at people. What's not good for the team is having one player with the worst discipline record so far this season in the entire league as part of the first eleven. Maybe he should get his own affairs in order before sniping at the fans. I wager his suspension now has had and will have more impact on our results than the fans protesting.
Backroom Tom Posted December 17, 2011 Backroom Posted December 17, 2011 Agree about Fonzi, real lack of focus and discipline in the lad. Nearly every week he had a strop and kicks the ball away and often gets away with it
John Posted December 17, 2011 Posted December 17, 2011 N'Zonzi in that game was acting like a petulant ######.

den Posted December 17, 2011 Posted December 17, 2011 Nzonzi is the latest to criticise the protests in Saturdays sun, he says he knows it's because the fans love the team Well he should tell Kean that it's him the fans hate, not the players. Job sorted.
Steve Kean's Hypnotoad Posted December 17, 2011 Posted December 17, 2011 N'Zonzi in that game was acting like a petulant ######. Or alternatively he was being climbed all over for about 5 seconds in the incident where he threw an arm (it was hardly a proper elbow or the guy's nose would have broken, he didn't even bust it). Says a lot about refs total inability to clamp down on grappling in the box when I'm the only person who thinks we should have had a penalty even if N'Zonzi had been sent off. The rest of his performance in that game was very aggressive I agree but exactly what is our only defensive midfielder supposed to do away at Stoke? Stand around and watch players like Rochina, Formica and Pedersen get bumped and barged all over the place? He was clearly told by Kean that he was responsible for fighting the physical battle for Rovers in that game. He's a young lad, maybe he took it a bit far, do no other defensive midfielders ever get sent off? ******* into the wind here anyway. He criticised the protests, hence he's in for a few pages of abuse.

booth Posted December 17, 2011 Posted December 17, 2011 Pete 1981 posted this link: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/17200111/joint_statement_about_the_future_of_BRFC.pdf The Future of Blackburn Rovers: Joint Statement by Mr Wayne Wild, Group Director of WEC Group Ltd, Main Stand sponsors; Mr Ian Battersby, Partner, Corporate Finance and Investments, Seneca Partners Ltd; Kate Hollern, Leader, Blackburn with Darwen Council, Mr Jake Berry, MP for Darwen and Rossendale, and Mr Jack Straw, MP for Blackburn. In recent weeks there has been mounting concern about the future of Blackburn Rovers. Rovers' position in the Premier League table obviously plays a significant part in that concern. But Rovers has faced similar difficulties in the past, on a number of occasions. The difference between then, and now, is that previously, whatever the difficulties on the field, fans, sponsors, and the wider communities of the area have had confidence in those running the club, and have gained security from that. Today, the problem is with the inadequacy of the owners, compounded by a loss of experienced staff, to engage with fans, sponsors, and the community We did not doubt the good faith of the current owners of the Club, Venky’s at the initial purchase of the Club. However with recent events we are unclear whether the original commitment still remains. Football in the UK does involve large sums of money. But its position in British community life is based on something quite else - the enthusiasm and loyalty of fans, and the sense of identity which football brings. It is that which we fear will be damaged by the current failure of the owners properly to engage. And this is not just a matter of sentiment. All the TV revenues in the world cannot replace a decent fan base. It is from that that all else follows - including success on the field, and in the balance sheet. We hope that the Club's owners will take notice of this statement, and will now seek to engage with all those who care for the Club's future without delay. Each and every stakeholder in this process will now await a swift and beneficial resolution. Wow! Unprecedented.
den Posted December 17, 2011 Posted December 17, 2011 Wow! Unprecedented. I'm surprised more people haven't picked up on this Booth. To me it's a massive statement to the owners. They are basically questioning the motives of the Raos. They're questioning their credibility. Not just a group of messageboard warriors either.
Backroom DE. Posted December 17, 2011 Backroom Posted December 17, 2011 Yeah great, he is clearly a Roy Keane in the making.... Nah, he's "the new Viera" apparently Also, there's a difference between being aggressive in a positive way and being stupid, N'Zonzi needs to learn the difference.

sw0808 Posted December 17, 2011 Posted December 17, 2011 It should be sent to those clowns on Sky sports - Lets see what Stelling and the others find to say about this!! Even they wouldnt be able to claim the protests are just a "small minority"
