47er Posted December 17, 2011 Posted December 17, 2011 I'm surprised more people haven't picked up on this Booth. To me it's a massive statement to the owners. They are basically questioning the motives of the Raos. They're questioning their credibility. Not just a group of messageboard warriors either. Do you mean outside this site Den? I would have thought this would be headline news but I haven't seen it reported anywhere. Would be a great shame and very damaging to us if a statement like this sunk without trace.

From there I would imagine it will create a lot of interest.
Kamy100 Posted December 17, 2011 Posted December 17, 2011 Strong statement but released at totally the wrong time, the nationals would've picked this up if it was released on Monday, today and tomorrow they are full of other stories.

Releasing Friday evening is very strange, totally agree. However despite that, Im amazed that no-one except a belated piece in the LET news section, has picked this up as yet. I reckon only a few hundred Rovers fans will even be aware come kick-off.
Al Posted December 17, 2011 Posted December 17, 2011 Can someone with more PC knowledge than me forward this to Sky Sports and both BBC and ITV please?
BuckyRover Posted December 17, 2011 Posted December 17, 2011 Lawro mouthing off on 5live about Kean again
RibbleValleyRover Posted December 17, 2011 Posted December 17, 2011 Lawro mouthing off on 5live about Kean again What did he say?
BuckyRover Posted December 17, 2011 Posted December 17, 2011 What did he say? He was cut off by the host mid sentence but he was halfway through saying how ridiculous it is that we are against Kean. The usual
Hasta Posted December 17, 2011 Posted December 17, 2011 Talking about Kean on soccer saturday after this current advert break. Bet there's no mention to the statement from Wayne Wild and co.
RibbleValleyRover Posted December 17, 2011 Posted December 17, 2011 Soccer Saturday talking about Rovers and the decision by fans to drop organised protests after the advert break. Expect the usual guff from Nicholas et al.
jim mk2 Posted December 17, 2011 Posted December 17, 2011 Great move agreeing not to protest lads - certainly made the players perform better.
Backroom Tom Posted December 17, 2011 Backroom Posted December 17, 2011 Protest or no protest does it really matter? Would it have made a difference? Would it hell
ABBEY Posted December 17, 2011 Posted December 17, 2011 Wow the players responded to no protests !! If that knob is still here on tues then the rumours about him being unsackable is true!!!
SIMON GARNERS 194 Posted December 17, 2011 Posted December 17, 2011 2-300 fans outside the players entrance after the game for a good 20 minutes...the sight of Ken Beamish walking down the steps and shaking his head at the fans was a disgrace. I really do fear we have lost our club for good.
PAFELL Posted December 17, 2011 Posted December 17, 2011 Strong statement but released at totally the wrong time, the nationals would've picked this up if it was released on Monday, today and tomorrow they are full of other stories. Easily rectified. Now they have released it 'locally'. They can now do it nationally. It must be done. 2-300 fans outside the players entrance after the game for a good 20 minutes...the sight of Ken Beamish walking down the steps and shaking his head at the fans was a disgrace. I really do fear we have lost our club for good. If that was the reason for shaking his head. Maybe he was doing it in disgust at Rovers performance today. It was terrible today.

AllRoverAsia Posted December 17, 2011 Posted December 17, 2011 I just cannot see Kean being willing to go ahead with the meeting with Fans next week. It will be called off by the Club.
Backroom Tom Posted December 17, 2011 Backroom Posted December 17, 2011 Hopefully he won't still be here by then but the other meeting still goes ahead
Plastic Head Posted December 17, 2011 Posted December 17, 2011 The only way to have an effect on the owners now is to actually disrupt the games. Once Sky start getting narked because games are not going on nicey nicey as scheduled, questions may be asked. What shape this should take i'm not sure, but pitch invasions seem the only way to me. Any other protests are ignored clearly. Sadly I don't think the majority of our fans cant be assed to do anything. At the very least I would like to see everyone with an anti venky banner and vociferous chants against them. Even booing whenever the venky advert came up on the hoardings. The passion has gone from the players and most of the fans as far as I can see. The sooner the money meltdown happens the better.

I keep having these thoughts of 100's of weeks old rotten stinky Chicken Eggs (not hard boiled) being lobbed (not thrown) in the vicinity of Coco as being highly symbolic of the sh!t that our Owners and Manager have got Rovers into. Trouble is you'd be nicked!
Plastic Head Posted December 17, 2011 Posted December 17, 2011 Well it's long way to go to put dogshtt through the venkys letterbox like you could do with some other previous chairmen I could mention, but i'm saving up.
Stuart Posted December 17, 2011 Posted December 17, 2011 Is there any precedent for protests going on as long as this without any change being made? I don't think anyone who protested before the Arsenal game envisaged we'd still be here mid-December. We are being portrayed in the press as a bunch of dumb moaners. "I see Rovers fans are still revolting" (chortle) We need Venkys to be shamed enough to take action but not enough to completely withdraw all funding/interest (if they haven't already). How we do that, I don't know but illegal means, such as pitch invasions, doesn't feel right - even if people feel driven towards them. Mass boycott seems the only plausible way. Non-attendance until Kean is gone. Massive dilemma though. As bad as it is, I can't seem to stay away.
Amo Posted December 17, 2011 Posted December 17, 2011 Question: There was no organised protest against Kean today, but what happened to protesting against Venky's? The time has come for fans to direct their anger straight to the organ grinders. Kean's not the problem here. He's just a chump who will cling to the job for dear life 'cause he'll never be a manager again. It's our friends in Pune who are calling the shots and ensuring the club goes to the dogs. At least Kean, the players and the media can't complain about off-putting protests when they're aimed directly at the owners.
den Posted December 17, 2011 Posted December 17, 2011 I've got to the point where I don't care if Kean goes or not. It's too late, we're screwed.
