Actually, thats not a bad idea Emge, havent we a contact who posted on here?

I, too, have experienced that Liverpool fans are sympathetic to our situation. I agree that Emge's idea is a good one.

Could try to do a "Liverpool and Rovers fans united against inept/incompetent foreign ownership" campaign/make a huge banner in red and blue with that text

Keep up the good work Glen. As others suggest turn the guns on Venky's.

Yes, the guns should be turned on Venky's. I don't know if you guys remember a post a couple of weeks back from a Liverpool fan who suggested reading Brian Reade's An epic swindle..? Well...I have and to put to one side the fact that it's about Liverpool it go's into good detail of how they got themselves organised and targeted the owners. Not with a war of name calling but where it hurt. They contacted the bank (RBS) not with hate mail but with stories about the love and passion for the club and how they felt about what the owners where upto. They also gathered inteligance on who the owners did business with and targeted them with non-abusive emails(on mass) to which they brought down a US financial institutions email and ultimately got them to pull out of doing any business with them and so on so forth. They went and spoke to the old owners to get them to speak out...etc etc. YES like in anything like this there where elements that carried on with the hate campaigns but what came accross was by taking the apporach to expalin there love and passion for the club on a personal level they got RBS onside and utlimately got the owners out.

Yes I am aware Liverpool is a different story and probably was easy to sell than Rovers would be and they had a management structure in place that also wanted the owners out but they went about it in maaner that demostrated the fans who love their club could have a possitive impact.

If nothing else the book was a good read from a fan of footballs point of view.

The plan is to hit Brockhall at 9.am followed by Ewood at 12pm, we need to get the numbers and messages to both venues especially the training ground as the press are aware of us going up there. This will be everyones chance to speak to the worldwide media and make your feeling known. We have to hit Venkys and their brand, and show its not accpetable what they have done.

We cannot wait until the next home game, as our future may be decided both on and off the field by then.

Not sure if that's been posted yet, but the article is the BBC about the training ground protest.

I must say Glen that you always come across very well whenever you are asked questions by the media, I've always felt the responses you have given have been a nice balance between firm and diplomatic. You played that comment very well because I don't think the media appreciate how important a Premier League club is to a town like Blackburn.

Agreed, Glen's basically had to face the media alone throughout the protests and has done a fantastic job.

Well Done Glen. I know you are not after plaudits but your efforts in galvanising the supporters and fighting for the future of the club is to be commended. I am not from Blackburn and have never been there but my passion for the club runs deep. When Rovers came to Australia i flew down to Sydney and it was one of the best nights of my life. I only wish i did not live on the otherside of the planet so i could participate in these well organised, diplomatic protests. In Australia i have the ability to watch every Rovers game on TV but if they get relegated my chances of seeing them is next to none. This saddens me deeply. The only way i see out of this mess and have a minor chance of survival is to appoint our version of the 'Special One' Mark Hughes and for Venky's to back him to the Hilt in the January transfer window. Based on current events this is not likely to happen but until i read that Mark Hughes has rejected an approach to Manage the club i still have hope. Keep fighting the fight Glen, Simon and local Rovers fans because you are not only the voice of the Town you are the voice for all Rovers fans around the globe. The future of the club that we all love is at stake and and by fighting for this future you continue to do us proud.

Glen,

well put, the quotes about being peaceful and not footie hooligans are important....and you focussed more on the Venkys rather than Coco.

Glen

Quick question - any news to the rumours that some of the players did actually come out to the fans or at least engage in some 'small talk about their opinion of the loon'?

As no response from Glen on this - did anybody else on here venture to Brockhall and can shed some light on this?

Glenmullan,I hate to say this but have we all been hitting the wrong person with the protests?,its now clear as daylight where the real problem lies.

If we can get rid of the tooth (cluless Rao's) then the ache (Teflon) will surely follow...

Kean will never go whilst Venky's are here, it's that simple. The mistake that we all made was thinking the Rao's were like every other owner- shocking results + fan anger= sacked manager.

Now they obviously don't care about relegation, and their personal relationship with the Kean family is more important.

We have to somehow hope Kean can get us to 30 odd points and it's enough.

The owners are frankly a disgrace and need hounding out of town.

SG, with hindsight we all can see where the problem lies, but I'd strongly argue that the protests weren't at the wrong target cos as per Matty's post at any other club in the league there would have been action. Should there have been no protests cos there was a 1 in 100 chance they wouldn't work?

The question now is, what can we as fans do to get Venky's out (or see the light, but all except the deluded think it's too late for that).

A theory I fear is turning Venky's against us so much they do actually start asset stripping and take the money and run. They are business people and so will not leave without a profit. They can do achieve this in many ways of varying levels of pain for the fans of the club. Who would actually want to buy Rovers, incidentally? It took us some time to find somebody to replace the Trust and we almost ended up with Philipl's conman. The most sensible thing I can see is to get behind the lads and help drag the club to safety. That's the most important thing. We are effectively held over a barrel when it comes to the owners as I can't imagine them selling simply because they have made a few enemies over in England. I personally don't see it as a case of 'what shall we protest about next?', more let's make a difference the only way we can when it comes to this season because we sure as hell won't find a buyer if we were to be relegated.

Far from an ideal position to be in, but just because many of the mindless are revelling in the limelight of protest it doesn't mean it's the best thing for the club, even if we would be better off without the current owners. The protesters have yet to achieve a decent level of support in the home games to actually spur the players on. Simply not directing your hostility towards the players isn't guaranteed not to have a negative effect when they actually need a lift. When the fans got behind them against Bolton we looked great up until the last 5 minutes of normal time and onwards, but then Bolton had an attack and the fans turned and there was barely a peep out of us until the last head of the game. The confidence of the team was generally high between the goal and the last five minutes, and if we can replicate that then we stand a chance of making a positive influence.

end of the day braddock, take the organised element out of it and you will never put a lid on an angry football crowd- look at Bolton, it wasn't a 'protest' by 'the protesters', just upset fans at the end of their tether.

Perhaps, this will now turn to Venky's organically from now on as every bugger knows Kean isn't going, EVER.

It's tricky to keep people calm when they have no brains. To me it looks as though it is simply a product of the dismal lives many lead (out of their own control in many cases). Recession, ignorance and aggression don't bode well for troubled times in their hobbies. A more logical approach isn't something they are capable of taking and that is a shame. Fortunately we can rely on their fickle nature. If I was as convinced as they were that their actions were right for the club I wouldn't be backing down now. Since they don't appear capable of productive expressions of their frustrations I've come to terms with having to rejoice in the swing voters being so easily manipulated by the last result. I for one will be drumming it home to them to distract them before the next bad result comes (which it will, that's how football works you see) and the doomsdayers are jangling their keys like they'd do to a toddler, confusing, entertaining and angering them, calling them to alms.

Thank God so many fans are morons and not just pessimistic through and through as I had previously anticipated.

Dislike rugby of all forms.

And I like a mix in my football. Batty makes my dream 11 for Rovers.

Civilised sorts can be both passionate and aggressive in suitable ways. As can some morons, as Newcastle fans show when their players are on the pitch but they don't like the owners or agree with a managerial appointment (nobody wanted Pardew).

Just for once I hope Ewood is in a positive mood tomorrow with no protests. That is because I feel we need to think about some of the following:

We desperately need the points

Like it or not we are going into the game on the back of a couple of good results

Several players have commented that the atmosphere is not helping their performances

Kean is not going to be sacked by the owners

The players are certainly trying for the club and the management

Maybe, just maybe, we can get another win against Stoke and maybe, just maybe positive support from the fans can be part of that.
