Not sure Glen would be welcomed by all members of the FF.

Possibly not. But I didn't necessarily mean Gken had to attend. Perhaps he could be more of a catylist for change within the FF. Perhaps nominate an existing FF member, or members, to become more actively involve in more football related matters.

One of the comments previously made by FF members is that they don't have a remit to discuss thing like the manager, perhaps there is an opportunity to change that in the current climate?

With all due respect to the FF and it's members Glen, all the club is doing here is trying to dilute your influence. They're trying to get rid of you. You don't need to join the FF to be heard, you've managed that already.

Do the protest leads have inside information as to our owners definite intentions during the transfer window - if they were having doubts about whether to put their own money into the club - surely the protests will only push them one way ?

When there were no protests in the summer, there was no investment, so what makes you think that the protests arent pushing them more towards investment now?

When there are no protests, result are no better.

Can you see the common theme here? The protests have happened because of these things and do not cause them.

I agree entirely.

The direction of future protest I get involved in are aimed at Venkys, pure and simple,

Whilst I admire your efforts and will support any protest just look at the league table and ask yourself

"Does Steve Kean deserve to be let off the hook?"

Venky's are negligent owners but Kean picks the team and has made a sows ear from the silk purse he inherited. Even after spending far more than our previous managers were given.

Venky's Out AND Kean Out!

Those changes are hopefully underway irrespective of Glen or anyone else. Discussions with Paul Hunt have been had in the week leading up to Christmas and we hope we can now have a wider scope to discuss things.

I don't know the full details so hopefully someone who knows more can.

Pleased to hear it. I didn't read about these discussions anywhere until just now, must have missed it, apologies.

I hope that, even if Glen isn't flavour if the month with everyone, it might be recognised his actions have greatly contributed to a change in the way the new regime communicate (2-way) with the fans.

I get the feeling that not a lot of people on the inside of the club will be thanking Glen though.

Glen - this press release that speaks on behalf of the Action group, was that actually not agreed by the members of it then?

I can imagine the headache it's given you today especially when your meant to be relaxing.

This was something that had been mentioned in Pune and chased up more recently leading up to the next meeting

I think we should add that this was discussed by the fans forum themselves after the last meeting, that we wanted to raise the remit that we had. This has allowed us to put a strong agenda forward for the next meeting. It was suggested that for this next meeting only that Glen was invited as a guest to the next meeting to listen to what we discuss, and hopefully contribute something. It would not be fair on any other person who had already applied to join for Glen to be made a full member of the forum, so that would not happen.

Agreed with this, we have nothing to gain by protesting, apart from causing tension between our own fans, and portraying our club in a bad light - at a time when we desperately need to buy players. Can't see the point in it, it's always been said that the fans back the players, but, it doesn't come across as such when protesting.

Yep, appeasement is surely the answer. I want "Success in our time".

I've got to say Glen, that to say you have been invited to join the FF is just plain wrong, and some would maybe even call you a liar for making such a statement. For all the people saying he has done the right thing to refuse the invitation let me make it clear, he wasn't invited to join the Fans Forum by either the club or the Fans Forum, he was infact invited to attend ONE meeting as a guest of the Fans Forum, after a vote of its members.

Just thought I'd clear that 'mis-understanding' up.

Yeah you wouldn't want someone like him would you? He might want to do something.

I must say 47er, you shouldn't make assumptions about people you don't know... I voted for him to attend the meeting. If Glen has decided to turn the chance down, there isn't a lot I can do about it. Maybe he doesn't want to associate himself with boys when men should have gone to Pune eh?

People who want to do something is exactly the people that we would want on but seeing as Glen has never applied nor ever itends or would want to be on the forum it isn't even worth discussion.

Andy may have put it a lot blunter than most would but the forum voted in favour of Glen coming along but my understanding it was just in a guest slot, he may have been told different from the club but the normal procedures wouldn't have been removed to accommodate anyone in particular.

I didn't blame the protests - but it would give them a convenient excuse ?

The truth is - nobody knows their intentions - rumours of asset stripping may be true - or maybe they are just positioning us for inevitable relelgation - or possibly it is just the different way that Indian business works.

The question is I believe still a valid one - do the protesters know that the Venky's will not invest during the next window ?

Ok, Fair enough. Apologies. Didn't sound like he was particularly wanted though, just the way it came across.

No probs. It was a free vote and everybody had their own choice to make... if we hadn't wanted him to attend, he wouldn't have got the invite.

Anyway, we'll move on without him and I'm sure the BRFC Action Group will continue to do their thing. At the end of the day, we all want the same thing - Rovers to be winning matches, well run and a club the fans can once again be proud of.
