krypton1980 Posted November 24, 2011 Posted November 24, 2011 Apparently signed new striker following a trial. Tim Payne a 17 year old New Zealander was recommended by Ryan Nelson after being spotted by former Leeds player Danny Hay. Player Stats The news was broke by the daily mail in this article. Anybody know anything else about the lad? Edit: just seen the trial thread from july - guessing no one else knows anything new on him.

Backroom DE. Posted November 24, 2011 Backroom Posted November 24, 2011 Hopefully J-Rob is too busy with his media duties to give the kid tips on being a striker.

Garethtj Posted July 29, 2012 Posted July 29, 2012 http://www.fifa.com/mensolympic/news/newsid=1671290/index.html?cid=rssfeed&att= I know we still need strengthening in central midfield and we're looking at options, but perhaps this guy has a role to play.
mayo Posted July 29, 2012 Posted July 29, 2012 Could be promising. Thought he was a striker though but that article mentioned he's a midfielder and provides link between defence and midfield?
Ricky Posted July 29, 2012 Posted July 29, 2012 Did he play much for our ressies last year or was he out on loan?

Grez Posted July 29, 2012 Posted July 29, 2012 He's playing defensive midfield in front of the back 4. Good to see Nelsen again. It's a bloody shame kean let him go

pick32 Posted July 29, 2012 Posted July 29, 2012 hasn't really been on the ball much Kosta Barbarouses looks impressive.
Grez Posted July 29, 2012 Posted July 29, 2012 What channel are you watching on, cant find it? I watched it at old Trafford - sat parallel to 18 yard line. Great view
Foxxx Posted July 29, 2012 Posted July 29, 2012 I thought Payne was a winger/Striker? Normally he plays further up the park. We are lacking a DM with passing ability, so he was given the chance in one of the warm up games and has done very well. He could be a long term option for the All whites in that position, so it will be interesting to see where he plays for the academy/reserves.
