Myles Anderson Posted November 24, 2011 Posted November 24, 2011 So why not sign a deal which has a relegation release clause? If he's that confident we are going down like our defeatist supporters then he will get his move in summer anyway! Some of our fans are so defeatist and so negative its untrue - yes times are hard with how its all going, but you should never give up! And why the fook does Jerome's son keep giving me negative points, where as anyone who wants to sell or let him go gets + points? Is it because your dad gets commission and will buy you a new ipad or something you muppet? A bit uncalled for. If you cant reply in a mature way, then dont reply. now go away and play with your pokemon, you childish sluggard.

Is it because your dad gets commission and will buy you a new ipad or something you muppet? Please tell me what there is to be positive about Hughesy? We've just given an improved contract to a guy who has won 6 games since last December. I don't blame the players for wanting out. Young players will look at how well Phil Jones is doing at United and believe they can do the same. Our club has become a national laughing stock, and rightly so, so why would players want to be associated with it when there is the opportunity to move to a top six club. Nothing wrong with the players showing ambition.

Defeatist or realist? Sounds like you have your head in the sand. As for JH, The Ewood exodus continues. Samba after that I expect. Defeatist, or obvious?
Clitherover Posted November 24, 2011 Posted November 24, 2011 Some of our fans are so defeatist and so negative its untrue - yes times are hard with how its all going, but you should never give up! Hughesy, can you blame us mate?, It's just one kick in the teeth after the next.
Mattyblue Posted November 24, 2011 Posted November 24, 2011 B0LLOX! Sign a new contract with a release clause for relegation if thats the case, simple. GREED - 100%. He only just signed a new deal last time, and hadnt made his breakthrough then. You are very naive. Players hold all the power, why would he want to sign a new deal? HE holds all the aces with it runnung down, he can have his pick of clubs and the clubs and the players know his contract is soon running out. Rovers have no power when a player is in his last year, shame he 'had to concentrate on his football' last season whilst Salgado, Nelsen et al were filling their boots.
Paul Posted November 24, 2011 Posted November 24, 2011 So why not sign a deal which has a relegation release clause? To ensure he doesn't miss out on any opportunities that may be available sooner. If he's that confident we are going down like our defeatist supporters then he will get his move in summer anyway! Some of our fans are so defeatist and so negative its untrue - yes times are hard with how its all going, but you should never give up! No one is defeatist just realistic. We are not going to get 30 or more points from 26 games. I was in a room with 40 of Rovers most ardent supporters on Tuesday. When asked for a show of hands 37 thought we would go down. That means 9% think Kean can save us.
Wing Wizard Windy Miller Posted November 24, 2011 Posted November 24, 2011 GREED! What nonsense. Rovers will be relegated in May (well sooner actually but that's when we go down) so why would Hoilet want to stay? Take the money and run, he'll be worth half that next summer. Agree, get the £9 mil IF it is to be reinvested in players and not go to the bank. Also think that Rochina has the potential to be a better player than Junior. So why not sign a deal which has a relegation release clause? If he's that confident we are going down like our defeatist supporters then he will get his move in summer anyway! Some of our fans are so defeatist and so negative its untrue - yes times are hard with how its all going, but you should never give up! Don't worry Hughsey, He told Hughsey not so long ago that he was going nowhere...
modes98 Posted November 24, 2011 Posted November 24, 2011 GREED! What are you on about? We will very soon be routed to the bottom of the league. We have a manager with no experience and a win ratio comparible to the worst of all time. Owners who have more idea how to manage chickens than humans. An Agent making money for himself above the potential success of the club. I can't even bare to go to games anymore so I don't blame, non rovers supporter, Junior Hoilett for wanting to leave the club and go on to realise his potential.
oreilly Posted November 24, 2011 Posted November 24, 2011 this is a disaster of a situation and it shows that the squad arent as united and together as they want us to believe, obviously Junior isnt the only one that know we are up sh1t creek. expect some more heads to drop after this one!! i am devestated that he wont sign a contract
Backroom Tom Posted November 24, 2011 Backroom Posted November 24, 2011 I'd Do the same and I think most people would it makes no sense for him to sign a new contract. £9m would be great business if we could get it although that would have to be used
onlyonejackwalker Posted November 24, 2011 Posted November 24, 2011 Don't know what you expect Hughesy. Who would want to work under this buffoon of a manager? Just because we keep hearing little media soundbites saying the players are 100% committed and united behind Kean, does not mean you have to believe everything you hear or read. Give your head a rattle and wake up. Players aren't stupid and can read a league table and evaluate lastings records just as well as you and I.
broadsword Posted November 24, 2011 Posted November 24, 2011 Why bother signing a contract with a relegation clause when he could just leave? This club is a shambles and we're in deep trouble, and only the most die-hard optimist would suggest we're staying up. If you think Junior Hoilett wanting to leave is because of greed, I think you're very much mistaken. Give me one reason why he should stay.
Mike Graham Posted November 24, 2011 Posted November 24, 2011 The issue this coming January transfer window is not who we sign but how many rats will leave the sinking ship: Samba, Hoilett, Ollson, Robinson, N'Zonzi?
walk down bolton road Posted November 24, 2011 Posted November 24, 2011 Good luck getting in front of Lennon or Bale. Enjoy the bench. Would snap there hands off for 9mill with only 6 months left on his contract. Looks like we might have around 20mill to spend then in january with hoillet and samba both looking like going. I would spend every penny on our back 4. Sorry ruggles i have no confidence in any money we get for hoillet being reinvested in the team with Venkys in charge. Also do we really have confidence in coco spending any money if he had some.
Amo Posted November 24, 2011 Posted November 24, 2011 Why are you so surprised, Hughesy? Our best players want out, even when we're a tight ship with a decent manager. Now we're run by clowns and heading for relegation, what would be his motive to stay?
martonrover Posted November 24, 2011 Posted November 24, 2011 Wonder how much the club will get after JA and SK?! Hmmm. Rubbing their hands! Yep, on with the asset stripping.
Stuart Posted November 24, 2011 Posted November 24, 2011 Ordinarily I'd say bite their hand off (given his short contract) and let him rot at Spurs but you just know the money won't be put to good use.

Al Posted November 24, 2011 Posted November 24, 2011 It's nothing to do with greed. He has been offered big bucks by Rovers. How would you, as a talented player, like to be going out and getting beaten every week under this clown of a manager and a set of clueless asset stripping owners. He probably would rather take a little less to step out with a team who have an even chance of winning a few games. It must be mind numbing playing for Rovers at the moment.
Backroom DE. Posted November 24, 2011 Backroom Posted November 24, 2011 Was this really necessary ? Hoilett had struggled to make his breakthrough under previous boss Sam Allardyce but Steve Kean’s appointment saw the youngster become a regular starter and one the club’s key performers. Funny how they always fail to add on the end "but his emergence has coincided with a steep decline from which Rovers have not recovered". IMO we'd have to take £9m in Jan because there's no way Hoilett's signing a new contract, and I don't blame him. This ship is well and truly sinking, the smart ones will get out whilst they can.
davulsukur Posted November 24, 2011 Posted November 24, 2011 The issue this coming January transfer window is not who we sign but how many rats will leave the sinking ship: Samba, Hoilett, Ollson, Robinson, N'Zonzi? I reckon Samba will be wanting out. I think we could hold on till the summer for Olsson, Fonzi and Robbo but i would get worried if clubs started showing an interest.
rog of the rovers Posted November 24, 2011 Posted November 24, 2011 Would hate to see him go, but £9m is a fair price for someone as inconsistent as Hoilett. Anyone who saw him against Wigan would have to question his desire to be a Rovers player.
Torgeir Posted November 24, 2011 Posted November 24, 2011 Was this really necessary ? Hoilett had struggled to make his breakthrough under previous boss Sam Allardyce but Steve Kean’s appointment saw the youngster become a regular starter and one the club’s key performers. Sam would have taught him the importance of tracking back before starting him regularly. He could have become our next Duff, but £9m is decent for someone so inconsistent and with 6 months left on his contract. Was hoping we could build something around him and PJ but was never gonna happen. For people saying we'll now have £20m to spend in January: Keep dreaming.
Doug Posted November 24, 2011 Posted November 24, 2011 This is what we have to do, as with Jones. IF we get £9m for him then our accademy has released £25m into the club in 6 or 7 months. That's a great contribution from the accademy, well done to them. Will it all get spent on strengthening the current squad though!
beerwins Posted November 24, 2011 Posted November 24, 2011 He wont go for anything like 9m, agent fees and payments based over 24 months probably. Did'nt we say recently he would'nt be sold for anything less than 18 mill?
